Dead coin? Mined a bunch early on, not sure if it's worth running a MN.

This coin is being mined by GPUs

Set up my first (ever) masternode today. As I've never set one or and don't know anything about them, I have a few questions.

1. How often do they receive coins?
2. Can the coins be used without disabling the masternode? Not the 1000 used to make it, but the ones it earns.
