2  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-20] Great Day For Bitcoin $6,054 on: October 20, 2017, 06:55:26 PM
Within the past 24 hours, the price of Bitcoin has surged from $5,600 to $6,054, by over $400 in a single day. Cryptocoinsnews previously reported that the major correction which the cryptocurrency market had endured on October 18 would place Bitcoin at a more favorable position to initiate a new rally.

“The recent correction of Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies in the market would allow the global cryptocurrency market to stabilize and restructure, building a better platform to rebuild momentum and initiate strong rallies,” Cryptocoinsnews reported.

Just over a third agreed with JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon who said "you'll pay the price" for investing in bitcoin
Sixteen percent of the 23,118 people who voted said bitcoin will hit between $6,000 and $8,000

he price of bitcoin could be heading to over $10,000, nearly half of respondents to a CNBC survey said.

During the week, CNBC ran an unscientific survey online asking: "Where does bitcoin go from here?"

Forty-nine percent of the 23,118 people who voted said above $10,000. Similar calls have been made by market participants. Former hedge fund manager Michael Novogratz told CNBC in a recent interview that he sees bitcoin heading to $10,000 in the next six to 10 months.

One option that people could also vote for was: "Jamie Dimon is correct, you'll pay the price for buying." JPMorgan Chase CEO Dimon has been critical of bitcoin, calling it a "fraud" and said "if you're stupid enough to buy it, you'll pay the price for it one day." Just over a third (35 percent) of people sided with Dimon.

And 16 percent of respondents went with the final option of bitcoin heading to between $6,000 and $8,000.

5  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-20] Quiet Surge: Bitcoin Price Sets New High Above $6,000 on: October 20, 2017, 06:51:07 PM

The price of bitcoin has hit a new all-time high, crossing the $6,000 line for the first time.

Markets climbed as high as $6,003.81, according to CoinDesk's Bitcoin Price Index (BPI). This figure surpasses the previous all-time high set on October 13, when the price rose to $5,856.10.

BPI data shows that the price climbed more than $200 in the past hour, with markets showing an average price of $5,697 prior to the ramp. At press time, the price of bitcoin is trading at around $5,968.

Figures from CoinMarketCap.com show that some exchanges are currently reporting a price above $6,000, including Bitfinex and Bithumb, the world's two largest exchanges by volume.

Today's move pushes the network's collective market capitalization closer to the $100 billion line. At press time, according to the BPI, bitcoin's market cap is roughly $99.5 billion.

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying and Holding BTC/LTC/ETH on: October 14, 2017, 03:11:04 PM
Hello, I wanted to ask if I should just buy BTC/LTC/ETH right away when I get the money, or should I wait a couple of weeks to see if their prices go down?

I recently started bitcoining, and I wanted to get more bitcoin by waiting for it to go down, since it did go down a lot last month, I thought it would do it again, but it didn't instead it went up.

So, I wanted to ask if I should just buy the coins when I get the money or should I wait for a couple of weeks or so just to see if their prices would go down?

from your post you not have real plan to increase money  so you will loss.

Can I ask why people are not honest. As in, why is it that people don't keep to their words even when they can do so? Can't I just do business with someone without signing papers and get lawyers and witnesses and still keep to my words? Can't we get trustworthy people anymore?

Because many want to get free and fast money so that they Scam other .

10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Eyes A State-Owned Cryptocurrency on: October 14, 2017, 02:55:35 PM
What happened
Early September, China banned ICOs and cryptocurrencies. A month later, Chinese official Yao Qian reportedly called for a state-owned digital currency.

That’s weird. Isn’t it against the law?
Looks like it’s not. Banning ICOs and bitcoins under the flags of protecting people from scam risks, Chinese government was in fact clearing up the space for a state-issued alternative.

What now?
Now Yao Qian – who is the Director of the Digital Currency Research Institute under the People's Bank of China – claims that a state digital currency will help to stabilize domestic fiat. Sure, that could happen. But not for long – knowing the Chinese market, cryptocurrency has all chances to completely replace yuan.

What can we learn from it
⚙️   China will have not only its own internet, but its own digital currency. And the global cryptomarket loses 1.3B users.
⚙️   Chinese approach is an example of an concept turnaround – we all thought that cryptocurrencies were meant to decentralize the world and economy…
⚙️   The time of fiat is ending – and governments have to create new formats for interaction.

Hello  Smiley

This is a new account because my original account (FrozenCopper) was hacked.  Cry
Since yesterday, I am not able to login using my password. Resetting my password is not possible because I don't get the necessary email. I guess the hacker changed the mail adress.
There are also two suspect posts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399496.msg21720265#msg21720265, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2165319.msg21696557#msg21696557) from the "new owner" of my account...  Angry

Is there any possibility to get my account back?  Smiley

Can you provide us how your account hacked ?

17  Other / Meta / Re: Google Captcha on: October 14, 2017, 02:19:16 PM
I really, really dislike Google and Google Captcha too. I'm shocked to see this being used on Bitcointalk.

Is there not an alternative?

Google is one of the worst US spy companies out there and I don't feel like supporting US wars by logging into Bitcointalk. Please change this asap.

Use strong ip or Detected ip will verify with out solve it

I've been posting on forums for over 15 years, but just found this one. Now I'm stuck as a newbie for 1 1/2 months, and I feel like I can't really participate.

Just some of the annoying things I've found so far:
 - I have to wait 360 seconds before posts and messages
 - I can't have a signature
 - I can't post pictures

I'm sure there are more... I'm surprised that this site actually keeps new members, because all the limitations suck.  Angry
