I think you guys are doing a great job. Its a good thing pools are talking about max hashrate. Never saw that before with other coins. So its a very good progress.
Thank you very much, we appreciate your support !

Hello people, We've made a bit of changes at Pool42 ! After having made a poll among our miners, it has been decided by the vast majority that the hashrate limit should be increased from 300 KH/s to 600 KH/s in order to be able to have a larger share of the network hashrate. Lol Thank you for your constructive comment. Okay, I explain. For a week you (threatened to) ban users with 300+ kh. For a weeks I told it's a bad idea. And now after pool reward drop and pool closing perspective you forget about pathos words and talk "Okay, we are increasing max hashrate". Lol. You must be mistaking us with another pool. This rule is in place for 20 days. I don't recall having discussed this with you, nor having had a real debate about it. Furthermore we do not ban people going over the limit, these people are automatically kicked out when they are above the limit; they're free to come back afterward. We increased our hashrate limit as things have changed since it was setup. When it was put in place, the average network hashrate was 50 MH/s. Now, Minerclaim and Zpool share about 120 MH/s: things have changed.

Hello people, We've made a bit of changes at Pool42 ! Hello fellow miners !
These last days we've been asking you your opinion regarding the hashrate limit in place, if we should remove it or not. After having discussed with you all who decided to take the poll with us, exchanging your ideas and eventually the pros and cons, it appeared that most of you were not really in favor of a hashrate limit removal, but more about a hashrate limit increase.
This is the reason why the pool hashrate limit will now be increased from 300 KH/s to 600 KH/s this way allowing medium-end miners to come in while keeping large botnets out of the pool. This way, we hope to be able to counterbalance large pools such as Minerclaim & Zpool in an effort to extract a decent amount of blocks per day as we used to.
We thank you all for taking part in this poll, and thank you for the constructive exchanges we have been able to have with you. The new limit is effective from now on. Please note the tolerance of 15% is still effective.
Happy mining, Regards.

But actually, we must be happy that more and more people get interested in XMG. The community is growing very fast now, also because of the mining profits. And comparing the net hashrate with the hashrate of other coins, it's still peanuts.
You are right, however it'd be better if it was decentralized as it was meant to be

Not only between 500 KH & 800 KH, we're also having these issues on Pool42. We may have a little more blocks per day, but our situation definitely degraded as we used to have between 8 & 15 blocks per day
But 15 blocks of around 0.5 XMG is much less than one block of 40 XMG. Of course, though back then it used to be in average blocks of 8. And maybe shall I recall you that it was the maintenance mode where rewards (and therefore benefits) were drastically brought down compared to before. Now, if we look back, 15 blocks at 8 XMG is worth 120 per day while here we have 80 per day. We actually expected the income of our miners to be four times above what it used to be during maintenance... That is true, of course. But compared to not finding any blocks at all is just burning clouds.
That's right. It sounds like this update weakened small polls pushing people to go to large pools.

The only thing that I noticed, is that with current difficulty it is hard for a pool with let's say abt 500Kh - 800 Kh/s to even find 1 block. Before the fix we could find at least 2-3 blocks a day. Now it's taking more then 1 day even to find a block. I can see few blocks, but not accepted due to new PoS / PoW rule. And when 2 PoS blocks have past it's (pretty much) always the high hashrate pools taking the next PoW block

Are you sure? In the past I earned 10 XMG a day, last period less than 1 XMG a day, now I earn 15 XMG a day, with 200 Kh/s. I guess it works perfectly, again. Or do you mean big miners earn less after last update?
What I meant is that on our pool (Pool42), we earn way less blocks than we used to be. It has been 12 hours and we only earned a single block. Let's make it per day and we get 2 blocks per day. Back then when it was on the temp fix, I used to earn between 6 & 10 XMG per day with the pool being at the same hashrate as now. Now, I earn 4 to 5 XMG per day. This is naturally the same for our miners. We may have larger blocks, but they became rare.

Well, Only thing I can see, is that pretty much all blocks go to big hashing pools now. To Minerclaim, Zpool, and POM
Minerclain has 50 MH/s Zpool has 35 MH/s and POM 16
It makes it close to impossible for pools running lower Hashrates to even find one block on new rules I'm afraid. After each PoW block we need to await 2 PoS blocks now...
We support this, we haven't been able to find as much blocks as before, even though the earning per block is above what we had, our miners earn less. It looks like the new rule not really resulted in what was expected.

Hello, Pool42 is running on wallet version 1.4.4.1 for two days, and everything seems to work. The past issues related with the blockchains seem to be all gone ! We are now mining at full blast extracting blocks of ~40 XMG ! Thanks to @joelabo & @ex33s for their work and support ! Happy mining , Regards.

And we have now passed block 1481500 And the blockreward just jumped to 39.27441117 All locking good so far Awesome, finally, it's going to be great now !

I can't use blockchain of Poolinfo on Windows, anyone has a more up-to-date chain zip?
Why can't you use that on windows? Any error messages available so we can sort out that issue? Got someone else too reporting an error with this blockchain on Windows. I don't know if there is any error message.

Pool42 is now running and synced on 1.4.4.1 ! Funds were also unlocked. Thank you @ex33s and @joelao95 for your amazing work !

As large blocks are falling, Pool42 has disabled its payouts temporarily. Don't worry it shall be back soon enough when we are sure blocks are effectively valid.

Can someone please help me, which pool is working? I thank you in advance for your help. For the moment our pool Pool42 is working. EDIT: for now xmg.pool42.com xmg.minerclaim.net
Ah, ninja'd

Pool42 is now back synced with the chain ! Mining will pursue. We will keep looking at it through the night to be reactive in case another issue happens.

Effectively, we're currently resyncing.
