This last round has been credited half to your current balance and half to the processing balance.  Im working on fixing the nmc withdraw atm.

The current round that tipped the %50 rule will be credited, i just want to reflect it in the rewards table. Been busy, but I will probably get to it after work tonight.

Payouts have been enabled on the main site. I still dont have the newer withdraw system in place, but as long as you get a txid in your payouts tables it will broadcast eventually.

Also, I'm in #mtred@freenode answering questions if you wanna talk.

Hey guys, It saddens me to announce that MtRed will be shutting down.

We are, with this current block, going to surpass a negative buffer half of what is owed to miners.  We have had a negative buffer for a while now, not this bad, but with the price soaring well over $200 USD per coin I can not allow this to continue. It was always the plan that if the buffer ever went to half of what is owed that we would shutdown. Up until January I probably would have been able to cover such an event out of pocket, but I must admit that is not possible today.

How did it get this bad? Two main reasons, programming incompetence on my part has overpaid a vast amount of BTC over the last 2 years, and server bills upwards of $700.  During which times Bitcoin prices were steady but low compared to today. These factors plus the very unlikely sustainability of running a 0% fee PPS pool, and my naive experience in running something as large as MtRed are what I believe is why I have failed you.

In order to spread remaining funds as equally to the miners as we can, certain actions will be taken over the course of the next two months.

The plan to release the remaining Bitcoins is as follow.

You will have two weeks to withdraw the first half of your balances. After the two weeks, you will be able to withdraw the remaining half of your balance. After that, for those who didn't withdraw in the first two weeks will be able to withdraw their remaining balance. As the pool balances reaches zero I will import the 1MtRed account and pay off remain withdraws with that.

Reviewing the code, the orphan was credited, but wasn't subtracted from the processing balance. But in the coming weeks we will be using the processing field to store your remain balance.

Payouts will begin this evening.

Again, I am truly sorry to have failed the MtRed miners, the Bitcoin community, and myself.

so since sometime last night i've been unable to connect to mine.mtred.com:8337. been using that exact set up for a while now with out issues unless the pool was down. but since no one else is saying its down... whats up?

Blocked ip? Read up a couple posts.

oh right! duh. thanks. pming rex.

8337 is get work. Rex has disabled it. Switch to the stratum port.

...stupid guiminer default. ok, changing that...

ok, NOW i'm getting time outs or "failed to subscribe" with both miners. ugh.

I acted to soon lifting the bans. Some ip bans have been brought back up, but getwork is serving.

I just turned getwork back on, and have removed all ip bans.

I'm getting "Error! Withdraws are momentarily disabled." since this morning.  When can I expect to be able to withdraw?

Working on it, basically working on a new payout system. Again, if you have a txid in the payout but its not showing on blockexplorer give it time. Im not exactly sure why these arent getting confirmed as quickly but am working on a new payout system to fix it.

Ah yes, I see that block now. Is that supposed to be paid or removed?
Orphaned blocks are paid by Rex.

Yes, but yea, that last orphan the line that saved your profile was commented out for some stupid reason. I will take care of it shortly.

A bunch of /16's are blocked, and I've taken down getwork for now.

Could you give a date for us to expect when withdrawals are back?

Been days that I keep getting "Error! Withdraws are momentarily disabled.".

Withdraws are enabled again, we have had a few issues with bitcoind crashing, but this is not the same as a tx taking longer than it should (with the fee) to get in a block.

But basically if your payout is in the log and has a tx, it's on it's way.  If you get an error about trouble connecting to the bitcoind instance and you dont see a new row in the payouts table is another story and thats when you should contact me.  I've patched in some code to get the bulk of these, but if for some reason bitcoind crashed processing your transaction it could still break.

Either way, payouts will be on and off sporadically as I implement a new payout system, but it's working for the most part now.

To the 14 people that tried to withdraw after our bitcoin instance on fail have been credited to their balance their withdraw amount.

Hey, Bitcoind crashed with a badalloc, im checking to make sure other transactions didnt get lost, but you all will be re-credited your balance shortly.

Damn... that dashboard is getting sexy.
a few patches have removed about ~20% mem overuse but there is still some heavy cylindrical references that im trying to optimize.

Stay tuned, bigger things coming down the pipeline.

Disabling vardiff while I test some things.

Hm, joined mtRed for 2hrs but the dashboard doesnt recognize that.
So i sign of for now, maybe later it's more successful.

Did you create a worker at mtred/dashboard/manage worker button/plus sign button? You have to do that first. I've had to help a lot of users in irc chat with that same issue. I admit, not very intuitive.

Yes, the process hasn't changed, but I want it to. Mining passwords wont mean anything and, im thinking about prepending and/or allowing mining on your site account login. Either way, these mem leaks are priority 1 right now. Hope to patch it up this weekend.

Yea, im gonna try somethings, for the time im going to disable payouts, wait for all pending payouts to clear and do some tests to the bitcoind node running on the web front (which is responsible for sending withdraws)

Also, I will shelter that orphan when I get home.

As talked about over the last days on IRC, why is the pool paying .0005 fees on each payout? Seems a bit excessive, especially when you consider that the pool could put payouts in its own blocks.

We could, but then ppl would need to wait on us to solve a block. I'm working out a strategy to do something similar, but its a ways out.

I know there has been significant delay in transactions confirming. Not sure why fee, but i have some thoughts on it. Hang tight.

Hey guys.

So im still  trying to patch the various edge cases that crash the server or lock it up.  Last night I found out that 1 ip was causing more than 20 exceptions a second, not sure if they were fuzzing us or using an outdated miner or something. And were doing some other patches to help figure out the root causes.   If you get massive swarms of rejects chances are I just restarted the server, sorry for that but I dont have a better way to update it live.

It doesnt help that I can't reproduce it under simulated load in my dev env, or than when it goes down it does so at 4am, but im working on checking its state. Usually its up, just not serving work so checking its pid stopped working (whereas crashes in pushpoold would terminate).

I am working on it, and promise we will get stable.
