1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Possible download block chain for air gapped linux from windows? on: August 24, 2021, 04:28:03 PM
I am new to linux and raspberry pi.
The terminal, UI logics and the disk format does give me a lot of headache.

For now, I will just using the balance dump, it provide security and privacy, although it is not directly from the blockchain.

Thank you for letting me know that the blockchain is transferable, I will try using again in the future when necessary.

Thank you NeuroticFish, NotATether, LoyceV, Dave

the wallets I am going to check is air gapped cold wallets, and will not do any transaction shortly.
thus, I do not mind the latency of days, I only check maybe once a month.

what I am using now is Master Public Key in electrum.
what I concern is about security and privacy.
May be I am paranoid, I just feel more comfortable to check the balance offline, and make sure the coin is in there.

From my research, it seems able to check the balance with the whole blockchain without internet.
I am very familiar with the blockchain and Bitcoin core.

Just want to konw is the blockchain possible transfer to another computer.
especially, from windows 10 to raspberry pi os.

Depending on what exactly you're trying to do, using List of all Bitcoin addresses with a balance could be much faster (but not trustless).

Oh god, I think this dump able to compromise my paranoid for now, and seems much much easier, Thank you!

6  Bitcoin / Electrum / need some help for electrum 4.1.5 in raspberry pi 2b on: July 27, 2021, 09:35:27 AM
I am using raspberry pi 2b with raspberry pi os.

When execute the Linux "Appimage", it create a file with garbled name in the same folder, and nothing happen.
Q1: Is the appimage not working in raspberry pi 2b (A 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU)?

When using method "Installation from Python sources"
at the step verify command,
Code:
gpg --verify Electrum-4.1.5.tar.gz.ThomasV.asc Electrum-4.1.5.tar.gz
it return "Can't check signature: No public key"
Q2: Is this mean verification not success? and I need a public key?

When I run the electrum, It return the following warning, but the electrum opens and able to create wallets.
Code:
python3 Electrum-4.1.5/run_electrum

Q3: Should I worry about the warnings?

7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: do i need create a new wallet for my old version electrum created wallet? on: July 06, 2021, 07:02:10 AM
thank you for all the answers.

sorry about my grammar is too bad that making confuse.

I created a electrum wallet long time ago with older version.
and recently notice there is a warning about the old version electrum problem.

I will just use a new wallet, as I did not verify the "old version electrum" which I used to create the wallet.

thank you Smiley
8  Bitcoin / Electrum / do i need create a new wallet for my old version electrum created wallet? on: July 05, 2021, 09:43:57 AM

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / what does the electricity consume for when mining bitcoin? on: December 26, 2017, 08:33:42 AM
I am a newbie in Bitcoin.

I know some part of them are going for solving Transaction.

But where other go?

10  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cheapest way to send bitcoin to different address on: November 11, 2017, 12:36:39 AM
Why would you need to do that? If the answer is privacy, it's probably better if you just use a mixer to "clean" your coins and break every connection between your ANXPRO account and your final address.

Otherwise, I don't see any other reason why would you break one transaction between several addresses.

I am for security, not privacy.
Just afraid one of the address being hacked, I understand it also impossible to be hacked, but still possible.
Also need few hot wallets to be use by me and my family.
(Also I can give different cold wallet to my family and let them manage them)

11  Bitcoin / Electrum / Cheapest way to send bitcoin to different address on: November 10, 2017, 02:55:37 PM
I recently bought some bitcoin in ANXPRO, just want to send them to my bitcoin wallet.

I want to send them to different address which I own all of them. (For security reason)

I am thinking doing this
ANXPRO > Bitcoin address 1
Bitcoin address 1 > Bitcoin address 2
Bitcoin address 1 > Bitcoin address 3
Bitcoin address 1 > Bitcoin address 4
So I will charge 3 time for transaction (not include the ANXPRO > Bitcoin address 1)

Wondering any better way to do this.
12  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how electrum store Bitcoin in private keys? on: November 10, 2017, 02:49:11 PM
thank you pooya87 and HCP for detail explanation.

Is it when I receiving bitcoin, the Bitcoin only goes to the one address I gave, not other address in my wallet?
13  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how electrum store Bitcoin in private keys? on: November 09, 2017, 07:45:07 AM
there is no limit to the number of private keys, there is only a master private key (you see it as seed) and the wallet derives limitless private keys from that master key.

and bitcoin is not stored in your wallet or keys,... there is no bitcoin to store! there are only transactions and keys. transactions are stored on the "public ledger" called blockchain and the keys (the private key) is what you use to spend those transactions that belong to you.

https://bitcoin.org/en/how-it-works
Thank you for your reply

Does the Seed(Master key) can use in any bitcoin wallet software? such as Bitcoin core.
I saw some threads that said that the private keys will be changed after transactions, is it true? or I misunderstanding?

They private address generated by https://www.bitaddress.org is private key or master private key?

14  Bitcoin / Electrum / how electrum store Bitcoin in private keys? on: November 09, 2017, 03:28:34 AM
I am new to Electrum and Bitcon.
From my understanding, Electrum wallet have 26 private keys.

I wondering how does electrum store the bitcoin in the private keys?
does it store in a single private key?
or
distribute to different private keys?
