1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Do antminers use power when on but not connected to the internet? on: February 26, 2020, 11:17:27 PM
Let's say the internet goes out for a few days. Will the antminers still be using significant power or would they barely be using any (just enough to power the fan and standby mode)
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethereum GTX 1070 rig crashing once in a while Asus Prime Z270-A motherboard on: February 01, 2018, 07:13:33 PM
Every now and then one of my GTX 1070 rigs crash. Could it be because something gets too hot? If so is there a way to adjust the setting on the Z270-A motherboard? Also is there a program that will set an alert when a machine goes offline or reboot it automatically?
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 220V vs 110V for new panel install on: February 01, 2018, 01:22:46 AM
The building has it's own 400 AMP transformer with an option for 2 x 200 AMP panels. Only one panel is installed, going to install the second one this coming week.

From panel A:
Volts = 208Y/120V
Phase 3 Wire 4
Amps 225
Neut volts 120

I guess I can keep panel A at 120V and do the new panel at 208V. What is a good PDU I can find suitable for the L3+/S9?
4  Bitcoin / Mining support / 220V vs 110V for new panel install on: January 31, 2018, 02:10:37 AM
I am having an electrician install a 200AMP panel on a 3 phase transformer and was wondering if I should go 220V vs 110V? I want to maximize the panel as much as possible, don't care about the electricity cost as much. Going to be running S9's and L3+'s.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Auto switch mining altcoin based on profibility? Auto converter? on: December 21, 2017, 04:12:31 AM
If I wanted to use my Antminer L3+ to mine other altcoins based on profitability are there any services out there that I can point the miner to which will automatically switch to mining whatever Scrypt coin is the most profitable?

Also, is there a service out there like changily or shapeshift that will automatically convert coins for me at a fair rate without me having to initiate the trade each time? Not sure if shapeshift or changily constantly allow you to send coins in to be exchanged without having to set up a new trade every time.

Local pickup is also an option if you would like to fly out to Vegas for the weekend and come back with a suitcase or two full of these Smiley PM me if interested.
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Are there any guides on building a mining farm from scratch? on: December 08, 2017, 08:07:12 AM
Is it still the wild west when it comes to information on starting a mining farm or is there a formula out there already to do things practically and efficiently?

I am curious about things such as obtaining and distributing the power, buying vs leasing commercial property, buying lot vs existing building, most efficient cooling method, layout, etc.

Any links to some good guides would be appreciated.

Also, if I was to buy a small plot of land and put a shed/container on it, would it be pretty simple to have the power company provide a couple thousand amps or whatever I needed, perhaps I'd buy the transformer or would they want to see construction plans / have a solid structure in place? Basically would they just feed the line wherever I tell them to and then have me deal with an electrician to get the panel installed in the shed?

Thank you I will give some of these suggestions a try.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / How to request more power from power company? on: November 20, 2017, 12:35:01 PM
If I was to start mining with 200+ Antminers and required about 2500 AMPs of power into my warehouse, is this something that a typical power company would be willing to provide?

I am in Las Vegas so would be dealing with NVEnergy. I don't have a lease or anything currently but am considering this venture and just figuring out if the logistics make sense.

The most I've seen here so far are 800 AMPS going into a warehouse.

Also how expensive would it be to get 2500 AMP's configured providing the power company would bring it in? Would it be cheaper to just rent multiple commercial units?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Zecminer - How to disable one of my GPU's? on: September 02, 2017, 04:45:06 PM
I am running zecminer on my main computer. I have a few GPU's and want to disable my main one so I can use the computer at a decent speed while I mine zcash. Anyone know how to do this? I know with claymore it is super simple.
