1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Ransom on: September 04, 2017, 12:01:44 PM
What if you had, let's say....5000 Bitcoins in your custody and suddenly someone demanded it as a ransom in exchange for someone very important to you, would you make the exchange?

I will negotiate if they will accept some altcoin instead.  Grin

Kidding aside, I will give it to them. Money can be earned but life is not.

Cheers  Grin

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How this picture makes you feel ? on: September 04, 2017, 11:39:43 AM
Deep regret.

And it makes you a cold-heated one for reminding me this. Just kidding  Grin.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What happened? on: September 04, 2017, 09:39:57 AM
With the recent all time high of 5k, many folks had sell their shares. With everyone selling, the price goes down.

When the price is low, it is now a great opportunity to buy again.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think Ethereum could break $1000 as well? on: September 04, 2017, 09:29:40 AM
It is not impossible, but maybe at the end of 2018. I am a believer in ether and I think the coin has a great future. But prediction is still a prediction and only time can tell.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dump? on: September 04, 2017, 09:17:46 AM
It is a great opportunity to enter the market when it reaches the correct price.

Nope. They are fine going side by side.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: September 04, 2017, 07:56:05 AM
Though it is unlikely to happen since many large corporations are now embracing the blockchain technology, banning BTC will do more harm than good. Imagine the chaos and rage from those folks who dedicated/depended their entire life in this cryptocurrency.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made my own Water/Fire-proof Metal Bitcoin Cold Storage, short guide. on: September 04, 2017, 07:48:21 AM
I don't sell these, it's a personal project someone here may want to repeat.  Smiley

A short guide and more pictures on my main site:
https://pinode.weebly.com/hardened-cold-storage.html

So a while back I tried to punch/stamp these Stainless Steel business card blanks with address/Private key for safe keeping. But the Steel didn't mark very well and it was very time consuming. Aluminium did stamp well but has a low melting point and has a chance of not surviving a house fire.

Prototype with test (inactive address and key, although they are a working matching pair).

It was masked with nail polish, design laser etched, and then the metal was electro-etched with salt water. Copper Sulphate added to copper plate the etch.

Surprisingly cheap and easy to do at home. (Cheaper than hardware wallets). Also very cheap if you already own a laser toner based printer. A cool project to show your kids, with electro-etching and plating.

Cool, I wish I can make one.

10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: September 04, 2017, 07:14:51 AM
It is never too late to ride in the bitcoin train Grin. You may seeing bitcoin speeding up like a bullet train, but you can still catch the ride as long as you had the ticket (money).

Buy. Hold. And enyoy the ride.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much alt coins, you should mine? on: September 04, 2017, 06:37:34 AM
i tried to look this up but can't find anything worth resonable.
i am newbee and my hardware is not good enough to mine zcash or eth. so i started looking up for altcoins.
and this question keeps coming up to me.

How many coins you should mine before switchig to other?

what is the
1: bare minimum,
2: a good amount or
3: a pretty good amount.
of the particular altcoin.

there are just so many coins out there.

btw about my hardware:  i got gtx 1060 6gb. in some algo it is good in others it is sligtly less. it's crappy version so things changes algo to algo.

I tried mining monero but abandoned it since I barely get an hefty amount and mining pool fees is waiting to get some of my hard earned coins.

There are a lot of things to consider when mining, your hash rate and electricity cost will be the deciding factors if you will profit or not. There are sites that will compute your profit base on your hash rates and electricity cost.

Nice gesture, man. In a world where everything is about profit, it is a gentle reminder that we must give in return.  Smiley

Syempre hindi. Ang laki na nga ng kinakaltas sa regular job pati ba naman kay bitcoin. Para mo na ring pinag bitcoin yung mga buwaya, mas lalo silang yayaman.
