Noob question -
The memorycoin.conf file I copied from earlier in the thread had fields "rpcuser" and "rpcpassword", what are these for? Do I need to use them? Does it have anything to do with getting the reward if you find a block?

If anyone is still having trouble syncing with the network, this is how I troubleshooted mine:
1. Open Task Manager -> Resource Monitor
2. Under the Network tab, you'll see if memorycoin-qt.exe is doing anything. If it isn't doing anything, that means the ports are blocked.
3. Use http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check ports 1925 and 1968.
4. If either port is closed, it could be either Windows/personal firewall or router settings. For Windows firewall, simply add memorycoin-qt.exe to list of allowed programs, for both home and public networks. Personal firewalls should be similar, look for 'exceptions'. In your router, it varies per model. Should be in the Security section, or just look up your router model + "open port".
5. Check resource monitor again, if memorycoin-qt.exe is connecting to some external ip (ie not 127.0.0.1 or your router), it means that it's working. Just be patient.

FreeTrade, I suggest you list all the common issues and solutions in the opening post. Reading through 30 pages is not fun.

I'd like to give some technical advice in the MemoryCoin thread.

These newbie restrictions are overdone, in my opinion.

I'm assuming the reasoning is to combat bot spam, but for that there are other solutions, e.g. captcha and moderation.
