i think the good altcoin under $1 is TRX, it has a good prospect in several months, give it try and buy that coin, the price will be pump up, and now the price at $0,22.
Actually the price is $0.17 at the moment. It has taken a big plunge in the past few hours But, It's still a great price to pick up some Tron IMO, especially if you are looking for a long-term investment. Don't you think it is a bit pumped? How long do you think it can last? Do you see it staying a top 10 long term?

Are there any rumours about Cardano causing the price to rise so much? The price rise (every alt up but not nearly as much as ADA) indicates that there should be good news coming soon. Price outlook very bullish in the mean time. The tech seems better than NEO but if NEO can build it's developer community up I think that's very powerful.

i support dragon chain now...because etherium has scalability issues which we had seen in the recent time because of some mad kittens... we get to know about a problem when we have serious implications and those mad kittens have given us the oppurtunity to show the scalability problem of ethrium and in long term it would create more such problems..... so dragon chain with both public and private block chains is the ultimate solution.
Yes Ethereum has scaling issues, but so does every other platform that is currently operational. The Ethereum community is working hard to solve those problems and I think they will do it. Ethereum having been launched earlier and had many things built on top of it already, I think it has proven itself a lot more than a lot of other platforms have. This network/community effect should not be understated. But yes, scalability number 1 problem to solve.

That is unfortunate to hear. Let stories like this be a reminder to always double check when making transactions, it can be too easy to make a mistake.

Litecoin's selling points is that it is cheaper and faster than Bitcoin, but there a plenty of coins out there which does this too which are much better. I think it's only because litecoin is well known and has existed for a long time that it is on many trading platforms that it is getting so much attention, correct me if these assumptions are wrong.
I think longer term you should be much more bullish on Ethereum and other platforms which allow for more practical things to be built on top of them. So therefore I believe this 10x growth scenario is more likely to occur in Ethereum.
|
|
|
I also think it is because of the influx of new investors. They look at Bitcoin and think it's too expensive so litecoin starts looking like an attractive alternative.

Eth has a great community supporting it and strong demand for it so I would feel comfortable holding eth long term over a lot of other options.

I agree with the opening post that 2019 is an interesting time frame to watch. I think mass hype etc can only sustain itself for a limited amount of time. Expectations of ICO projects will increase as time goes on and the price will reflect their progress. Teams will come under even more scrutiny as times goes on, putting more pressure on their coin price.

i have a feeling that most of altcoins' future depend on btc as btc is the face of crytocurrencies at the moment.
Agreed, presently if Bitcoin goes down, it will do a load of damage to the other currencies. They are all still pretty closely tied together in terms of price movement.

Sadly it took me a few times to get burned and scammed to realize this but I am quite picky now when it comes to these things. I think I did really well on one of them so I kind of broke even which was very lucky of me but other than that I despise ICOs. Why not get the token or coin cheaper than ICO price on exchange in a few weeks? That way you got better price and no risk it seems like a win win to me.
Other thing you have to consider with ICOs is how long you have to wait before the coin is listed on the exchange. It is a lot larger risk if you have to wait a long time before receiving the money back, e.g. Polkadot's ICO. Locking up your eth for almost two years.

Once Ethereum solves its scaling issues it will easily be the most useful cryptocurrency. The community is great and I'm bullish on it's future.

|
As long as there is easy money to be made there will be plenty more forks to come. I don't think they add much to the eco-system but that is where we are at in the space right now.

$400 is a big mental barrier for investors, once ETH breaks through that I think it will go on another run of fast gains. Coins being in all time new highs means that everyone who has bought is in profit - less motivation to sell until a big move has happened.

|
|
Being hooked on crypto isn't necessarily a bad thing unless you are losing lots of money and it's doing your head in mentally There are much more worse things to be addicted to

I think patience is required. There is still so much to be positive about with Ethereum and it will keep on improving as the community grows and acquires talent.
|
|
|
If you meet with and interact with the Ethereum community you will see that it has a fantastic community with lots of talent and everyone is very supportive of bettering it. The people working hard in Ethereum really are visionaries of how to make the concept of a decentralized future a practical reality. The strength of these cryptocurrencies has a lot to do with the strength of the network effect of people using it/believing in it and Ethereum has to be up there with the best.
You should be bullish on it's future

Same thing that I say to my friends, don't go to much for super new stuff just to MAYBE get the hype of it. Stick to coins that are already there and will even progress more in the next years and might go up from 2x-10x
Coins I'm talking about would be:
1. OmiseGo (read about it and you'll for sure see the potential it has next year) 2. Neo 3. Waves 4. Vertcoin 5. Litecoin (Not raising a lot, but constantly always going up a bit, so it's one of the safe investments) 6. Ether (still really high potential with it's technology - look for the Ethereum-roadmap and see what's coming up)
I agree with this, go for the platforms which have great teams and already a big community behind them so a higher chance of long term success, then maybe allocate a small percentage of all funds for the more speculative projects or ICOs that you might be interested in. Important to spread around the risk.

This is an interesting thread with many intriguing projects and coins. Due to the increasing ICOs there are even many coins I have not heard of. I have to look more carefully into this.
One important thing is, whether the 100x is just a quick pump and dump or a constant increase. As many of us are in for a longterm investment, the latter is preferred.
Agree, not much good if a coin pumps really high % gain and it's a small market cap that you can't get enough volume in to exit your position. Multiple factors to consider.

Seems like a lot of people dump on EtherDelta right after ICO. Enjin coin was the same, dumped big time.

It is a very significant amount of money locked up, will be very interesting to see what is decided upon as a course of action - reputation is very much at stake. This won't be the last major hack either, however what is interesting to compare is the amount of money stolen this year from phishing http://fortune.com/2017/08/28/ethereum-cryptocurrency-stolen-bitcoin/
