Not sure if this legit, but the coins you choose actually look very promising.

Hi,
I followed the tutorial and now I get around 29.3 mh/s, but I also have a lot of memory errors.
Could someone share their Config for one of those cards? RX480 MSI Gaming X 8GB (Samsung) RX470 Nitro 8GB (Micron) RX470 Nitro + 8GB (Samsung)
You may try Uber-mix 3.2, I also have better Samsung timings. Or lower memory clocks. I followed the tutorial and got about 28.5 mh/s for Each card individually. When I connect all cards I get no video signal. Installed an older driver (16.9) with ddu and did anything I could think of. Now I get one card 28 and the other one 4 because it only runs on 300 mhz. The others still dont work together. Do you have an idea what I did wrong or have an Image for One of those cards? Rx470 nitro 8gb micron Rx470 nitro + 8 gb samsung Rx480 msi gaming x 8gb samsung Thank you so much for your help!

I also have this card but with Samsung memory , not sure how the hell to flash it with that switch, i dont understand the purpose of that switch. Also , do you always copy the 1500 straps upwards or what is the general rule?
Appreciate some education here
You have another card. The Nitro + With the switch you can choose between 2 different BIOS. One is silent mode and the other one oc (default mode)

Thank you all for your input. What would be acceptable prices for AMD in your opinion? I'd pay $270 on the 470 and $320 on the 480, both 8GB. Nvidias would be a lot more expensive

Hi,
I'm currently deciding if I should buy a rig or just invest my money into coins. I'd love to build a rig just for fun so I tend to do that.
My question is if you would go AMD or NVIDIA at this point? Everything is very expensive, but I could get 4x RX470 and 2 RX 480 for $1800 which is not that bad for Europe I guess. These: 2x Sapphire RX 470 8GB Nitro+ 2x Sapphire RX 470 8GB Nitro 2x MSI RX 480 8GB Gaming X
The NVIDIA cards are way more expensive and don't get a huge amount of more hashrate. But also I heared of the h/s drop of about 35% by DAG 160-180. Is that correct and would you therefore go for NVIDIA?
Would you consider spending more on 1080tis and going for just 3 cards?
Thank in advance

If you expect to make $ you need to treat this like a business. Sure you could just throw together the best rig you can for now, start mining & wing it, but there's no this + this + this perfect strategy you can follow that will 100% work out exactly as expected. Do research, LOTS of research, like a couple hours every day for a few weeks if possible. Youtube videos make it easier but to be honest I was calling most people online idiots long before I even started mining.
If you just want to get started do that with whatever you figure out is best for you. Get a couple of cards or a used ASIC that's still profitable to mine with(I just sold my Antminer for 3 times what I paid for it 2 months ago) & get just your feet wet. There's even a post in this forum where dude is selling USB miners for $60 & I'm telling friends to get them just to get started. But if you really want to make $ mining long term a legit business plan isn't a bad idea. I store every point of data I can, save every receipt, calculate every watt, hash & cable tie to the cent... but my goals aren't everyone's.
At least make a spreadsheet to compare cards etc. & when you do get started please for the love of god don't use Windows(or do, what do I know)
Sounds like really good advice to do it this way! Why not Windows?

What is your opinion on which to mine with one standard rig with 4x RX470 and 2x RX480?
I am currently on xmr, but considering switching to Signatum or Ubiq

Not too much forward thinking in this thread. You aren't mining for the price of Monero now, you are mining for the price of Monero later. Mine, Hold, repeat. Long-term hold.
That is fishbowl thinking ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ....there's a ton of coins out there that are will rise just as much, if not more than Monero, and their difficulty level is but a fraction.... Anyone sticking with Monero versus an up and coming coin is only doing a great service to the Monero community by sacrificing their GPUs for the crumbs that fall off the table.....when you could be eating steak with a newer coin ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) So what would be such a coin? I think it's not a valid argument to say even if you're losing money now because of electricity and low price of the coin because it's going 10x. If you want to use that strategy you could just buy the coin instead of mining it, right?

if you have free electricity then best coins to mine are, prisoncoin, jailcoin, robber'scoin, stealcoin, thievescoin but make sure you don't end mining policecoin cause is rare but the chances are that you get a policecoin every thousands of coins mined.
hahaha nice ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) It's free because it's included in my rent. Not stolen anywhere ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Monero was a good choice few months ago ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) But it's still good to mine even now. With same AMD GPUs you may mine ETH too. ASIC would be great too, we might get better group price for Innosilicon A4+, there is topic about it. Thanks! So what coin would be a good choice now?

Hi all, I am in the situation that I have free electricity because it's included in my monthly rent and wanted to know if it's worth to get into mining at this point? Of course I can't set up 10 Antminers, but I checked and as long as it's not exorbitant, it's okay to use the power. I started to mine Monero on my gaming pc just because I am interested in the technology. It would take a long time to get back the cost for the hardware, so you kind of have to count on that the coin appreciates right? Which coin would you recommend? Also which Hardware would you recommend? There are so many options I am kind of confused. Mine Monero with GPUs and hope they appreciate or buy an ASIC and mine ETH or BTC... I have a budget of 4000$. Also I have cool temperatures and fast internet (900 mb/s) if that matters in any way? Thanks for your help ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
