Even if it was a real address, I doubt they'd give it back.
Did you not copy the address?

Wasnt able to do it. had the ethers on a mobile wallet and sent them from there to an exchange opened on my computer. QR reader function was not working with that wallet so i had to manually type the address. Undecided Cry

I hope you get your money back but I have come to learn that 99% of crypto people who say comunity are just evil scum. I have lost 50K and they laugh at me. Most crypto people are scum! I hope you run into the 1% who are not. Good luck!
oh dear, so sorry to hear this. this is even worse than my thing here.

needless to say it was a fucking stupid idea to accept an altcoin i never had experience with before and just blindly initiating a transaction.

its too late now to apologize and find reasons for this to happen, think i have to take this loss and get up again. anyway its so fucking huge as i planned to buy a used car the coming month and part of that money was supposed to be for that. however, nothing i can do to change this situation now, thanks for your support guys Cry

Wow, so sorry for your loss!  Was there no way to copy/paste the address?  I don't know if I'd trust myself to manually type in an address without an error.  If I just had to do it I'd double, triple, and quadruple check the address.

unfortunately not, no. i could have sent me the wallet by messenger or mail.. but did not as i was in a rush and just wanted to get them onto the exchange. was a big and truly expensive mistake as i know now.

and i know it was a pretty dumb idea to accept an altcoin i was not familiar with, but it was ONE small typo, a 9 instead of 8 in the address. this is unbelievably bad luck.. Huh Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

Please contact me by PM, i lost close to 5.000 $ by accidently sending coins to your wallet as I did a typo error.

Read here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2161699

I will offer you 1.000 $ if you own this address and return my funds, this will be all yours then with my deepest honor of your legitimacy.

Most probably no one will ever respond or PM me, however, if there is anybody out there reading this, please contact me. I was working very hard and long for that money and cant believe its all gone with one wrong symbol in the wallet address.

THANKS!!! Embarrassed

Wow..if you really hit a valid address then you're really unlucky!
Yeah but otherwise it could've not been sent or am I wrong? and it was just one wrong letter, a number to be precisely.

holy shit... Embarrassed
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So I just lost 5.000 $ right? ETHEREUM Destination address typo error on: September 08, 2017, 06:01:26 PM
I was doing my first ethereum transaction right now as I got paid this way for the very, very first time.

Received my coins here on my mobile wallet:
0xeE183DC2242b25ef8AE86caf4FEF6d18794893c8
https://etherscan.io/address/0xee183dc2242b25ef8ae86caf4fef6d18794893c8

And sent them right away to an exchange as I was familiar way more with bitcoin than ethereum. As the mobile wallet's QR code reader function (Coinomi) did not work at all, I had to manually type the destination address and of course did a typo.

It was supposed to be sent to: 0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b058b

And I sent them there: 0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b059b
https://etherscan.io/address/0x3f13171bedaf7a2b6e69fc12e08ff0429d8b059b

I think I am going to die now, what the heck. with bitcoin you cant send to wrong and invalid addresses how is that going with ethers??? Embarrassed

Anybody knows what to do? How on earth could this crypto currency be send to invalid / non existing addresses???

I for sure will never use ethereum again, this is crazy wtf..
