If anyone knows which is the:

that would make the GUI wallet actually something useful for me.
Although I am not an expert, I have been able to use quite a few wallets, most of them they just connect to the block chain seamlessly,
after entering a password or a couple of keys, but Haven GUI wallet does not.

Are you starting the daemon? My GUI wallet connects right away after starting daemon. First wallet I’ve seen that it doesn’t start automatically.

Something that helped me fix it was go to Settings Tab (green dot) and click the "Show Advanced" near the "Manage Daemon" section header. Found out that I had some Local Daemon startup flags (from the my Monero Settings) there that were tripping up the Haven daemon. After deleting all the flags, I started the daemon and it worked.
