1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Non Segwit cost from Segwit wallet on: December 27, 2017, 02:12:51 AM
Any ideas?

What would it cost to send from a no Segwit address from a Segwit wallet? The same high fees or Segwit fees?

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Non Segwit cost from Segwit wallet on: December 26, 2017, 12:02:15 PM
Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered before... but I couldn’t find the answer, all was about possibility of sending from Segwit to non Segwit address, or the transaction fees or speed of both.

My question is, I just installed bitWallet, which I assume supports both Segwit and non Segwit. I have my BTC in Bread which is a non Segwit, so all my addresses start with “1”, non Segwit.

If I created a new Segwit wallet in bitWallet, and restored with my 12 word seed phrase (from Bread wallet), would it go in the new wallet as a Segwit or non Segwit address, in both cases when I send BTC from the new bitWallet to any other BTC address whether Segwit or non Segwit, would I benefit from the speed and cost of Segwit?

I hope I made my question clear, and hope to get an answer.

By the way, what is the average, normal, or mostly... transaction fee in USD (given the current price roughly) and speed of transaction?

Thank you.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BT1 to BT2 ratio means.... ? on: November 15, 2017, 01:35:26 AM
Now, BT1:BT2 is about 5000:870 usd

I believe this means the market has voted already for. BT1, ie. BTC

Am I right?

I’m just glad it’s over as I expected.

Yes, your last 2 sentence was what I mean.
In this case it gets done instantly no confirmations, no fees... right?

I am still worried about confirmations, this is why I thought of importing.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it OK to Send BTC Now? (confirmation problem?) on: November 13, 2017, 11:51:41 AM
Thanks guys for all your replies, you gave me hope. I just had a feeling I j3st ended up with an “entry” in my wallet, just an entry. So I can still trade, buy, sell...

Is there a difference between importing a wallet and sending to another address in speed or fees?

Thanks
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will die? on: November 13, 2017, 11:25:54 AM
I am worried it’s dying already.

The network status, I mean confirmation time, if no confirmation means no BTC.

What can you do with a BTC in your wallet if you can’t send it?

Anybody did a transaction recently and got a confirmation?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it OK to Send BTC Now? (confirmation problem?) on: November 13, 2017, 11:20:57 AM
I don’t mind paying the highest fees, what I care about is not to get stuck

I’ll check my wallet and select highest possible fees, if there are recommended fees, what should I put there?

What about Jaxx (iOS) and coinomi on android?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to sell BTC for BCH ? on: November 13, 2017, 11:08:01 AM
I wonder how can anybody buy or sell BTC or even send BTC to another address if it doesn’t get confirmed...

Anybody tried to send or receive BTC and got confirmation recently?

Any advice on how to send and get confirmation?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is it OK to Send BTC Now? (confirmation problem?) on: November 13, 2017, 11:02:59 AM
The title says it.

I want to send some BTC to another wallet, another address.

Is it ok now? How long to confirm?

I have some transactions pending for 3 days now.

Any advise highly appreciated.

Thank you

Just to update you guys,

After resetting cache and the BTC appeared in my wallet, checking the wallet today I found the transaction confirmed and appeared in my paper wallet!

This was the longest time I’ve seen for a transaction.

Thanks, you just confirmed what I was thinking of...

I hope the lightning network can come in soon...

It will save us a lot of hassles...

Anybody knows when expected?

Now that I have my BTC in Jaxx, would it be ok to move the balance to my paper wallet?
It is on defaults for mining fees...

Would it be declined again?

What if I selected the highest fees, how much would that be in usd?

Just hoping to safely claim and dump the BTG and the B2X

Any ideas, Can I still move BTC to my paper wallet? Or is it ok to just leave it in Jaxx wallet?
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BT1 to BT2 ratio means.... ? on: October 29, 2017, 09:11:26 AM
no, this just means bitfinex is making more money now that it has two additional "fake" markets for tokens that do not exist in the real world.

you can not trust the price either because the tokens do not exist in the real world! for example there is no BT2 tokens to sell so there is no sell pressure that would have been in reality if the tokens were real.

Sorry, hope to understand, what do you mean the tokens does not exist? It is already being traded for fiat and BTC, same as BTC... does BTC exist anywhere? Both BT1 and BT2 are the same as BTC... am I missing something?

This is serious and needs an answer, the correct answer simply tells what IS going to definetly happen.

Thanks guys,

I reset the Jaxx cache a few times. Now I see my BTC in my wallet.

Though, I don’t know yet why it didn’t get confirmed.

was it because of miners and this Segwit2x mess?

Any way, maybe this issue or case proves that blockchain technolology is 100% safe, you never lose your money.  In Fiat transaction, if you made a mistake, it’s up to the receiver to refund you the money, which is not the case with blockchain.

So, remains the question, why it didn’t get confirmation?

If it didn't get any confirmations, then the coins are technically on your JAXX wallet. Can you post your address here so we can check if your latest transaction did get through on the network because If its on the block explorers, Then most probably the problem lies on your wallet. Their support are active on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/jaxx/

So the problem is with Jaxx wallet not the network?
