So it turns out that my Powercolor 7970 is most certainly faulty. My question now is what should I tell powercolor in the RMA, how can I prove that the card is broken? I doubt that I can just say that it doesn't mine correctly, and it does work fine most of the time when gaming...
Thanks a lot!

Hi all!
What's the best (and simplest!) way to monitor on one computer, multiple instances of cgminer that are mining on other computers on the network? (also, I have no php/apache knowledge as of yet)
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm now in the process of trying cgminer on some other cards... some MSI Twin Frozr 7950's
My cgminer settings are as follows: (first setx GPU_MAX.....) cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://poolurl -u username -p password -I 13 --shaders 1792 -g 2 -w 256 -s 1
And with my 2 7950s I'm getting 520 kh/sec and 484 kh/s
Anyone getting better speeds with these cards? Or, any suggestions for the settings?
Thanks!

Hi!
There seems to be a problem with this card and/or the guiminer-scrypt config. It's a Powercolor HD 7970 (non-ghz, non-ref), and after a restart of the system, on the first try, will mine in guiminer-scrypt at around 630 kh/sec consistently for about 2 minutes. After this period of time, the AMD display driver will crash, and then recover. Stopping and starting the mining in guiminer-scrypt will only result in a top speed of anywhere between 30 and 200 kh/sec, with the only way to recover the 630 speed being to restart the computer again.
Any ideas for this odd behavior?
Thanks!

Hi guys!
Just a quick question. How do you set this up? And what do I do with the php file?
Thanks!

Hi Guys!
Just a quick question here, when the reward crosses the payment threshold, is the payment sent immediately? Or is there a certain time once a day when all the payments are processed?
Thanks!
There's a short delay but is usually processed within about an hour... Thanks!

Whoa. Would be awesome if you could share how you got that running....

You need to be online for a total of 4 hours.... Check the total time logged in on the top left corner of the screen.

Try making your engine clock 1003 and memclock 1609.
Set Powertune to about 5%.
I usually get around 720Kh/s with those settings.
Plot Twist: I changed the settings in afterburner to what you wrote, fired up GUIminer-scrypt alpha with a thread conc of 8192, clicked start mining, and the whole computer instantly shut down.

try this make a .bat file and put the following in there
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o "xxxurlxxx" -u "user" -p "pass" -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 -shaders 2048
make sure this .bat file is in the same folder as cgminer
run this bat file, you should be in the 650+ range
leave out thread concurrency and vectors
Hi, I tried that...... and in cgminer I'm getting a consistent 23 kh/s! Now I'm quite confused...

+1 for non-reference designs. I just hate having 1 fan on them..... Not too bad a price IMO though...

Which OS are you running? I find the 7970's to be fairly hard to get stable. Try Win7 64bit if you can with the 13.4 ati drivers. This is what finally got me stable. You should be able to push 720 kh/s out of that single card stably. This would be with a TC of around 20480.
I'm running Win7 64bit, with 13.1 drivers. I'll try a TC of 20480. Should the other values stay the same? Thanks!

Hi Guys!
So I have a Powercolor 7970 (Non-ghz edition, but custom powercolor cooler) which seems to work great mining BTC, with speeds of 630 MH/s (when OC'd to 1125 MHz core clock) (using GUIminer). The problem is that if I try to hash a scrypt cryptocoin (LTC, BTB.. etc.), using GUIminer-scrypt alpha, I am stuck at 320 kh/s! Obviously something is wrong... I've tried changing many settings... but can't get higher than this speed. My thread-concurrency is 8192, intensity is 13, gpu threads is 2, worksize is 256, and vectors is 1.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the info guys! I think I'll look into the sapphire...
Also, any thoughts on the gigabyte windforce3 (1ghz edition and the 1.1ghz edition) and the xfx double d ghz edition? (1050 mhz)
I've also heard that most msi cards are unlocked.....

Hi Guys!
I'm currently in the market for a 7970 for mining. On the MHC wiki, some 7970's can go around 750 MH/s, but after browsing many forums, people seem to be frequently having trouble with 7970s, resulting in speeds closer to 500 MH/s.
So, which 7970 is currently the best to get? (I'm looking mainly at cards with NON-reference coolers, and an unlocked voltage is good to overclock and get more MH/s!)
Also, do any of you have the 7970? If so, which brand, and what speeds are you looking at?
Thanks a lot guys!
-Dan
