1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Akroma - Cryptocurrency. Smarter. (Smart Contracts. Masternodes. Oracles.) on: October 30, 2018, 11:06:51 AM
You have to keep your 5k AKA on your masternode wallet for it to work, just send the surplus to another address on wich you will build your 2nd masternode when you'll get 5k on it.

How can I guarantee the coins left is the right 5k though? I can't see any options for coin control (picking sources of coins to send) or does the node just "see" the 5k and that's all that counts? Other MN coins I have allow you to lock out the coins for a node and only send from the pool of coins unrelated to your MN. It's not exactly a hardship to set up nodes just seems a little backwards compared to other coins.

Your MN is tied to a wallet address, just check your wallet here: https://explorer.akroma.io/
Then you can create another address and send AKA on it with https://w.akroma.io/

Coin control / new masternodes

Seems like a silly question but hey ho, don't think it actually is.

I have an existing masternode, and would like to use it's returns plus mining to set up a second one, however either through wallet or webwallet I cannot see options for coin controls. What is the best way of moving forwards with a 2nd node? Should I just bite the bullet and create 2 new nodes? I don't know how important the reputation is right now but if I've been building that up over the last few months then throwing it away might not be a good plan?

If I send all the coins to a new address, then 5k back to the original node address will it pick it up as the same masternode or would I need to set up a new one with the old coins as well as my new node?

You have to keep your 5k AKA on your masternode wallet for it to work, just send the surplus to another address on wich you will build your 2nd masternode when you'll get 5k on it.

Minerpool.net is not for small miners when it's already, so it's good for solo, but it's not heavy on the pool, it's better for other AKA POOLs.
!!!
WHAT you have to get is counting on the number of blocks, total load and hashrate, but the problem is that when you look at the blocks, so much of the solo is so you can not count, but the system does not distinguish them.

Personally, I like that mineralpool offers solo miner, it's better than solo mining, when everyone is in competition, but in the pool are competitors only from other pools.

If you are looking for the opportunity to benefit from the pool, so elsewhere.

*********************************************************************

AKA goes up, so do not let you train :-)

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Over a long enough time to nullify variance, a (true) solo miner and a pool miner should get the exact same amount. But solo mining on a pool is not really solo mining, because you are on a pool, for true solo mining you have to have your own node with your mining address configured on it. Solo mining on pool is just a marketing argument.

And when solo and pool mining are mixed, it's the worst thing for the pool miners which works for the solo miners but didn't get credited for it. And it's also open to exploits, like this miner http://akroma.minerpool.net/#/account/0xb1476f658877ff4a514689303abc2b5add185a44 who is exploiting the pool (get credits for pool and solo blocks) for more than 2 weeks with an ever growing hashrate, leaving only dust to pool miners.

On my pool I'm getting 40~50 AKA/day with 100Mh/s. http://www.akroma.ovh/#/account/0xd829dd76f20d6d004809bd8d68ffca4473c72219 it's more than miners with 500 MH/s on minerpool.
 http://www.akroma.ovh/ 0.1% fees

The sadest thing in this (I don't care about miners who blindly leave their rigs running without checking their gains) is it might hurt Akroma reputation...
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Akroma - Cryptocurrency. Smarter. (Smart Contracts. Masternodes. Oracles.) on: October 25, 2018, 02:43:58 PM
Be aware if you're mining to minerpool.net They pay out 1/5th of what you should be getting. Been like this for the past week. Made them aware a couple of days ago on their discord and got 0 response.

Edit: In the interest of balance

Since this post I have now had a response from the minerpool team. They are having issues with some miners exploiting the pool payout system. They are testing a resolution now and hope to roll it out to all pools

+1
I've warned many times, for the last 2 weeks, their spoke person on Discord about these miners who exploit the pool by doing solo and pool mining at the same and which takes most of the rewards on all the blocks leaving only dust to others.

They've fixed their ETHO pool, but there is the same exploit on every other pools with mixed solo/pool mining. Seems the pool owner is to busy to care about his miners, to warn them about the problem and to take a few minutes to fix these pools.

If you want a fair & simple pool for everyone, no marketing argument like solo mining, hit block reward...
You're welcome to try: http://www.akroma.ovh/ 0.1% fees
All plain and simple, I'm getting 40~50 AKA/day with 100Mh/s. http://www.akroma.ovh/#/account/0xd829dd76f20d6d004809bd8d68ffca4473c72219

Help keep the network decentralized with this new Ether1 mining pool.

Ether1.ovh | Ether1 Mining Pool

New EU/US/Asia located Ether1 mining pool! 0.1% fee*!

Come test our pool with the lowest fee possible!
I'm sure you'll get way more rewards than on big pools! Wink

* 0.1% fee until November, then 0.5%!

Ether-1 has successfully forked at block 1 million.
There are two pools who have not updated software and are currently not on the main ETHO chain.
If you are mining with minerpool or etho.bylt.gq please redirect your hash to another Ether-1 pool until these two pools update their software and join the main Ether-1 blockchain.

Stop mining ETHO on MinerPool.net!
You won't get paid.

They are on the wrong chain, they didn't update they node!
Come to my pool instead:Ether1.ovh

I can't decipher whether you are totally delusional or just too stubborn to admit the truth.
So again, I'll answer you each point, hope you read it, hope you don't answer.

You did lie saying I sent you the first pm I ever sent you was 4 mins before posting which was a lie form you screen cap.

Your first defaming message, saying that the shown hashrate was incorrect and that I didn't answered your pm was posted here: October 11, 2018, 05:13:56 PM
From my screen cap we could see that you sent your first pm: October 11, 2018, 05:17:49 PM
That is 3min 53sec after your post, so approximately 4 min.
So you accuse me of not answering you before sending me a pm...
And I checked all my logs, the first time you connected to the pool was October 15. (I checked with your IP since you used 2 differents addresses.)

Secondly, I did not say I mined on your pool for 24 hours fool.
I was saying that as an example as the other scam pools I have been on before trying out yours to see if it was any different and it clearly is not.
True, you did not said you mined for a day on my pool, I misunderstood it.
My pool is not a scam pool, all the proof are on the blockchain and both your addresses have been paid for the (little) work they did.

I am done arguing with such a moron.
Go and promote your shitty pool.
I don't care and do not care about you posting private pm of when I did not blackmail. Do you even know what this word means?!? DO you?
I did not say I was going to do anything to your pool if you did not send (any amount is even 1-2 eth0 coin is what 2-4 cents! Roll Eyes ) some coins my way.
I asked if you could, then I would send my hash power to your pool.
It may look like begging instead of blackmail but since you defamed me before asking, I keep telling it's blackmail.

I am not going thru what I did with another one of these newly appearing pools here sending my hash there for over 24 hours and not receive anything in return.
I am going to waste my energy and money for an entire day for nothing? You are a foolish person if you think anybody will do this.

Complete idiot and not worth to talk to any longer on here.

Final statement from me and not wasting anymore effort or time on this moron:

AVOID THIS POOL as this so called pool owner does not reply to any pm you send him.
I have tested this with sending him a pm on October 11th as shown in the screen of the pm with no response at all then only responses when posting on his thread to argue and waste your time.

You know the blockchain is a public ledger, right?
If you know where to look you can easily know if a pool is a scam or not. I would have been happy to teach you how to, but hence your attitude, I won't.

For the pm, I already answered. I don't have time to spend all my day on this forum. I come here once a day. I did not see I had pm and this thread didn't appeared on my watchlist (but it is on it) after your posts.

If you had contacted me through my e-mail or on Discord (both of them are clearly visible on the website), I would have answered you very quickly.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL][ETHO][EU/US/ASIA] Ether1 Mining pool | 0.1% fee on: October 16, 2018, 10:34:08 PM
Sent the first pm when your pool launched which was last week.
The second one pointed out the difference in actual hashrate and the one reported from your stats page on the site.
This is not misinformation nor is it against the rules to ask for a little of the coin in compensation for a pool that is just starting out and looking to gain a customer base. I have wasted an entire day mining at a pool and they did not gain any more miners so did not get anything with so called "trying a new pool that comes out" is something I would rather not go thru again.

If you don't want either than fine.
I will take my business else where.

Rude is not the way to put yourself in a situation on this forum for you are asking peoples help here not me.

Such lies and decite.

Oct 11th was 4 mins after. Fucking idiot.

Hi,

If I start mining on your pool could you give me some eth0 for joining your pool?
I have 150 Mh/s but am buying another card later this week and should get it by Thursday next week to push it closer to 200Mh/s.

Send some coins to my eth0 address

I joined your pool now and am helping you to get the next block solved because it is at nearly 380% right when I joined. Which is a very long time to wait for it to be mined.

First, I'm not the one who is rude, I haven't called you "fucking idiot" nor lied.

Second, I'm not the one lying:

Third, you didn't wasted an entire day mining on the pool, because you didn't spend an entire day on it (I remember seeing you connected and I can find you back on the logs), you get paid for the shares you sent (and except luck on a time, you probably would have get more than on other pool). If you would have asked for help (not for coin) on email or discord, I would have answered you fast.
And I'm not asking for help here, I'm here to promote a service I've put in place to help people mining ETHO.

You clearly don't understand how a pool works, btw.

Tried this pool and it is getting me 40Mh/s less than what I am pouring into it.
Don't bother with this one
and the pool operator does not even respond to the pm's that he received.

I haven't seen the PM here, nor this message (didn't appeared on my watchlist).
I can be contacted everyday on my e-mail or on discord.

Pool hashrate is calculated according to the shares you sent on a time frame (30m  and 3h) and it can differs from calculated hashrate by your miner.

On a second note, I just read your PMs and I don't like being asked to give you some ETHO for joining my pool and I can't do nothing about luck, but since the launch, overall, the pool is lucky with 86% Shares/Diff.
Feel free to not use my pool if you don't like it but do not spread misinformations, thanks.

By the way, you sent me your first PM exactly 4 mins after you posted a message here!  Roll Eyes

For 3 days mining (alone on the pool), I got on average 103 ETHO/day for 95MH/s.

If you check this mining calculator: https://mining.alekseirubin.com/calculator/ETHO?hashrate=95&diffPage=H24 you'll see I should get 83 ETHO/day.
When I was mining on bigger pools (I will not name them), with this hashrate I got only around 50~70 ETHO/day, I was paid more often per day but got way less ETHO!

It's not only due to the fees, on big pools the mining "whales" take the biggest part of the profits.

Electroneum is probably under a 51% attack right now. Someone may be trying to double spend. Avoid making transactions.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Electroneum/comments/88wbkv/electroneum_is_probably_under_a_51_attack_right/

I've read the entire reddit thread and some others on this subject. All I can say is that there's nothing new at all, all this things are happening since mid-january, as a (small) pool owner I've noticed it soon and posted it, but nobody cared...

Hello, I have 2 important questions that should concern every ETN miners and users, and I hope I will have answers!

1/ Where the hell are more than half of the network hashrate? If it's in only one place, it should be a big concern for everybody (especially regarding question 2).

2/ How is it possible that some blocks appears to be mined many minutes before other blocks that have a lower high.

For example: block 124870 https://blockexplorer.electroneum.com/block/b8869738a22d0dc1c7ec0dfbf70ba3e2e08fc0fe9b952d98f851549fc1564012 was mined 40 minutes before block 124869 https://blockexplorer.electroneum.com/block/e5cac39f32ac6178addc758af4e0250dec28d674251f1925d7af4f3bbd3fcba5 which should not be possible. In fact, it appears that block 124870 was mined directly after block 124840 https://blockexplorer.electroneum.com/block/b480c6221526c210510b076124bde7463a743b5a2356666db03e48cc68cc91eb
This phenomenon has been occurring several times a day for the past few days.

It's very worrying.

1/ https://etn.nanopool.org/ + https://etn.spacepools.org/ > 50%

2/ A block can only be added at the end of the blockchain, so they are always mined in order, that means the dates are simply wrong. A blockchain has no time consensus, so the dates dont need to be accurate, the only "time consensus" a blockchain has is the heigt. Thats why updates will be released at a block height X and not at a time X. Im not sure how they measure the timestamp on a transaction but i asume the miner just puts his server timestamp in, which dont has to be accurate at all.

I assume you thinking about 51% attacks. With those attacks you can replace the block by mining with more then 50% hashrate, but you keep them secret. So you wouldnt see the increased difficulty anyway ,because the solved blocks would not be released to the global blockchain. After time X you will always have the longer blockchain (because you solved more blocks) wich is accepted by the global blockchain, so you would just suddenly see the end of the blockchain removed and replaced with something else. But even these added blocks will be in chronological order.

So lets say a big company which owns a lot of hashing power makes a deal with nanopool (or they get hacked by the company). You would first see a huge decrease in difficulty, because nanopool would be not releasing their blocks, but they could keep the miners in the dark about it, give them all the money they want, because its gona be reversed anyway. Then they make their scam deals and release the longer blockchain, which would be accepted globaly. Not to easy but since their is a lot of centralization with ETN mining (most of it because of lack of knowlege) it is not impossible. In the beginning of ETN mining one pool even had 97% of the hashing power.

TL;DR The timestamp is not reliable, only the block height is and its impossible to add blocks inbetween
1/ Well most of the time it is barely >50% or <50%

2/Ok that make sense. But what I also find disturbing is, from what I saw, these blocks with a wrong timestamp never have any user's transaction in them...

Small pool? probably is one of the biggest or the big one

I'm talking about my pool: http://electroneum.ovh/ -_-

@Krakatoa87 Thanks for this info!

So what why do you think all those empty blocks with wrong timestamp are generated? Also when it happened, I couldn't sync with blockchain because I was getting new top block candidates all the time, now it's over.

I don't know why, that's why I posted here in the first place!
For sure something isn't normal, but it isn't recent, it's been like this for the past few months.
