1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: August 03, 2014, 11:07:43 PM
Being distracted by this huge amount of new coins; lead us nowhere. We must stay focused, and extremecoin worth it. The chain is still safe and consistent here.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin.org (EXC) BBQcoin.org (BQC) (Omega6) Updates on: August 03, 2014, 10:21:33 PM

This is a good coin. We can trust in it. When we check careful y the new ones, We have premined IPO, ICO, hidden blocks, scam features e.g.: darkcoin...

I support good coins - I support Extremecoin.

BBQ and Extremcoin are very good coins. We see days after days that maturity matters in cryptocurrency; We have time to fully check the coin.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: July 31, 2014, 10:04:32 AM
The coin code is fine

No. It's got an incorrectly implement KGW difficulty adjustment algorithm resulting in the network taking days (if at all) to find new blocks. This needs to be the first fix.

This is not an incorrect implementation of the KGW but we have a huge change  in the network hashrate sometimes. Anyway this is nothing that we have known before with feathercoin where the coins was really stick for weeks. Anyway the future coin update will definitely leave this issue behind.

Here we have a fair coin, fully mature, fully exempt of all the scams issues and features that we see all around this year. This coin is trustful and well done.

I'm waiting the new implementation. Any schedule?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO [w/ OPENSOURCE FRK ATM!] on: July 31, 2014, 10:02:22 AM

Might be worth thinking more outside the forum etc. Have an email signup on the site (using aweber or getresponse) for people to signup to get the latest info via emails etc. Try and send out a weekly or bi monthly update etc. Course, might be harder now to get people to signup than if you had started closer to the beginning. Nice to see a coin that's been around for a long time and is still being worked on though.

We have those things on frankos.org already. I think our mailing list is up to about 600. We normally do a newsletter about once month. Or around every important announcement.
Does it? I couldn't find any place to signup with email. Maybe I'm just blind as I'm used to "in your face" stuff from the internet marketing world. Might want to give things a once over as well. The "Getting Started" link is 404 on myfirstfranko, that site has some images missing, and the faucet (I assume it was the original one) is gone (there is another one listed on myfirstfranko though). Can't seem to open frankopedia either but that could just be a temporary thing.

Maybe some folks have taken down their server. I'll get it all back up and redo the site. Its about time for it anyways ^_^

Franko is well active. Anyway when we see a lot of nonsense posts added every day on lately added coins. And a lot of broken development on other coins, that are more scam features than something really useful. I think that the back to basics idiom for a cryptocurrency is an important strategy. Anyway there is always other matters to talk about.

I agree with you.

2014 is a bad year for mature alternates; I still trust in fair coins, and Franko was well launched; and everything is fine since the beginning.

We see all around a bad game with scam operations every week. We may hope that people will check carefully what they are doing. Franko is trustworthy, something more and more difficult to find around us.

I think its intentional, some group of people are intentionally whoring the scammiest of the scammy coins to damage the altcoin rep. Its obvious when you follow the volume at exchanges. Any exchange willing to cater to the destruction of altcoins reputation will be rewarded with volume. Any exchange that has decided to be more choosy with who they add have lost nearly all of the volume they once had. I predict there will be a great return to time proven alternatives.

Altcoins reputation is at stake, and a lot of people who try lately these high volume operation were scammed. Indeed pump and dump operations can be so easily done, on a new, and fresh coin. A group controlling the coin itself, and some large farms, and who are sure that the coin will be quickly added to an exchange. But, anyway such an operation is only a scam. And the large volume is initiated at the beginning by the group itself.  The exchange is involved in a way or another, these operations are not legit...

To overcome the issues we are facing there is only one option. Going back to basics of cryptocurrencies, anyway lately we had a lot of scams operations, this impact good cryptos like Franko, trust is an important matter here.

We also faced huge dump operations in 2014; these operations were massive, and driven by multipools and huge farms. Anyway now this is not profitable at all, we may expect that some of these operators will definitely stop, and in a near future, they will be replaced by wiser ones, Anyway all now is a matter of patience.

The situation may recover in the months to come. A lot of people have learn from their mistakes; and a good coin is always positive.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: July 21, 2014, 05:56:15 PM
I am back now after taking some time away to clear a few things up legally do to with a none Extremecoin issue, of which is now closed.

As for Extremecoin, of which I am very passionate about and by the fact that it is still listed on BTER.com there is still interest in this coin.

My plan for the next 1.6 Version update (The code stress tested on the testnet) will get the difficulty adjustment fixed and get the blockchain moving again.

The next stage will be to set a timetable for Extremecoin to change from a POW crypto to a POS based coin, as a 1 coin block reward under POW alone is not really worth it.

More updates to come in the following weeks as I start work on the coding side.

Thanks.

Extremecoin is already mature; anyway this change will be an important improvement.

Dont mine this! this is a dev of BBL coin too!  Wink

The premined sold - It's probably already over. Premined coins have a short life, with maybe a pump and dump phase. But the dump can be done at the beginning...

You may use the following line, Registering is not necessary:
sgminer --kernel nist5 -o next.awiki.org:8186 -u yourICEaddress -p . --queue 0 -s 1

The mining will start on the p2pool once the block value is >0 (not yet...).

20 blocks to go before the real start.

11 blocks to go before the pool gives work to miners.

Some pool available?

undergroundpool.me working

You may use  a p2pool, but the coin value has to be >0. Otherwise the pool will lock the hashrate. Block 5000 is not there, we have to wait a few mninutes...

well im mining here so happy:

"url" : "stratum+tcp://undergroundpool.me:3500",
 "user" : "wallet",
 "pass" : "1"

-o stratum+tcp://undergroundpool.me:3500 -u iqgp9fxsJhJc1EPLXgk9dHaCJocigEPJno -p 1

sgminer --kernel nist5 -o next.awiki.org:8186 -u yourICEaddress -p . --queue 0 -s 1

Here the p2pool repository:
git clone git://github.com/repojohnray/p2pool-one.git

The public node:

http://next.awiki.org:8186

We will get a better efficiency with the p2pools

OK I got the hash package: git://github.com/talkcoin/nist5_hash

One of the best alternate released in the last 6 months.

This coin has still a solid value. Some coins are released for a quick pump and dump, other are there to be strong and last forever.

Extremecoin is one of the alternate that will last. That was discussed, lately , the daily cost of this coin is low, we will not see this one sink. Extremecoin is a good investment.

I agree - One of the best alternate out there; We see new coins every day now, how many died? This one is still there, and will increase in popularity.

I've bought some on BTER lately - Great coin +1.

*p2pool

Here is a patch to get a public thepandacoin p2pool node,  this patch applies to the original vertcoin p2pool code (git clone git://github.com/donSchoe/p2pool-vtc).

You may setup your own p2pool node. You will get a low latency, low dead on arrival stratum server, and no fees....

And the pool http://next.afraid.org:8119 is around 5MH/s.

I let my rig on this one, around ten hours, each time; With great results. Few pools are optimized for intermittent operations. And if with use these other pools like this, we are far from the expected payout.

you guys trying to solo mine are probably gunna get orphaned, luckycoinpool.com is 70% of network hash rate now

there might be 1 other active pool but I don't know which

This is one I use mainly for this coin:  http://next.afraid.org:8116,  it works fine.

err now I'm confused, that's exactly what I was getting at.  At any rate, whatever works.  Lets move the DGC thread onto better things.  Maybe the odd identical messages slow down, maybe not.  meh!

So the pool owner is here... DGC begins to be an interesting cryptocurrency. We may expect more useful messages here...
