1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: January 13, 2022, 02:05:38 PM
Last time I had a truck load of that happening (a couple of weeks ago) it was too hot.
Settled down later when the room was cooler.

Thanks for the reply. The errors I am getting are from a cold start.

I have a Terminus R606 (BM1387) that stopped working recently. Can't seem to figure out what's wrong with it. The orange LED comes on solid and cgminer seems to find the board and then it just keeps resetting.

I don't think this is the wrong input which is in the "=How to Run=", please help!

This appears to be a network/pool issue, not a 2pac issue. Try another pool like Slush. Also verify connectivity with the pool (eg: telnet pool.ckpool.org 3333) and check with your pool operator.

Are you intending to donate all your mining to sidehack? Correct me if I am wrong, but that's the purpose of the 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr address. If you don't understand you should use a pool with an online wallet like Slush until your bitcoin knowledge is more developed.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin "cash" - price speculation on: August 18, 2017, 03:47:38 AM
Bitcoincash has just mined it's first 8MB block:

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/block/479469

37,814 transactions included in the block

The average BCH block barely breaks 100kb. It's nice they finally were able to spam a block full, perhaps next time they should do this testing before its deployed live.

6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next UASF in 1 August/2017. Bitcoin UP or DOWN? on: July 12, 2017, 03:37:03 AM
Everyone screams that it will go down to nothing, so obviously, it will go up. After all of those people panic sell between now and then. When there are no sellers left on Aug 1, the buyers will push the price significantly.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where would we be had the ETF passed? on: July 09, 2017, 05:27:03 AM

Bitcoin is getting choked now from the number of transactions. If the ETF had been approved, I think things would have become unbearable.
The alt bubble would not have arisen at all.  Smiley

16 out of the last 20 block are not even full. BTC is not getting choked by transactions...
8  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL gets raided and the Hashrate drops! Connection? on: September 23, 2014, 09:29:01 PM
Drop from ~250 to 200 is a big deal. It makes me think there was some truth to the claim that BFL was mining with all their customers ASIC's until they were unprofitable and then ready to ship.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 31, 2014, 12:26:51 AM
I have purchased a new S3 and Corsair CX600 psu.  I set everything up and when I connected the PCI-E connectors to the S3 the psu quit working.
I was able to reset it and tested it and it ran o.k. but as soon as I connected it to the S3 it stopped again. I do not get any lights on the miner.
I am unable to connect to to the web setup presumably because the S3 is not getting any power.  I will appreciate any help/suggestions.  Thanks.

try a different power supply, sounds like that one is bad.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin development problems on: February 11, 2014, 10:35:05 PM
Yesterday gox screams that malleability is life or death, everyone rightly tells them they don't understand the issue and to stop using broken software. The only person who benefits from this today is Mt. Gox. Mt. Gox will try and make itself out to be the hero of the malleability crisis that it created. You see, Mt. Gox can be trusted after all, everyone come back and get rejected 20x for properly filled out verification and do all their business there. Then they can avoid the real issue of a bank run when they have an unknown capital shortfall.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something is wrong. We cannot just gloss over the $100 sell on: February 11, 2014, 03:29:19 PM
I think the issue we all keep ignoring is the broken trade matching systems these exchanges use. There have been posts from people on btc-e and bitstamp who did not have their limit orders executed even with the price moving through them. The same thing has happened on gox in the past, thats why we see big sells plow down through the order book and the price instantly recovers because of all the missed orders and orders placed during the execution of the large sell. These trade matching systems are broken and need to be rewritten or replaced with real off real off the shelf systems. We get lag in an exchange because of this as well, each transaction appears to be handled on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis. Momentum locks up the db, limit orders do not get fully filled, traders can not react, market makeing bots can not update their orders, and we get a mini flash/lag crash. We need exchanges that operate like real financial market exchanges, written by people with experience in them or at least learning from their mistakes.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happened at Asia Nexgen? on: February 10, 2014, 03:57:19 PM
They started doge coin trading today, those trades are showing up in their BTC ticker. I haven't checked their API to see if its their fault or some market data providers using out of date API.

15  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will the exchange changes impact the price on: April 16, 2013, 04:46:55 AM
I am hopeful that mtgox's new trade matching engine works properly, unlike their current one and is able to match trades properly. When the bounces between the bid/ask as it processes orders are gone the market will be quite a bit more stable and orderly.

Code:
Hi everyone, just a quick update on the situation and what happened last night.

First of all we would like to reassure you but no we were not last night victim of a DDoS but instead victim of our own
success!

Indeed the rather astonishing amount of new account opened in the last few days added to the existing one plus the
number of trade made a huge impact on the overall system that started to lag. As expected in such situation people
started to panic, started to sell Bitcoin in mass (Panic Sale) resulting in an increase of trade that ultimately froze
the trade engine!

To give you an idea of how impressive things were here are some numbers that we would love to share with you guys:
- The number of trades executed triple in the last 24hrs.
- The number of new account opened went from 60k for March alone to 75k new account created for the first few days
of April! We now have roughly 20,000 new accounts created each day.

Due to these facts we have been busy working on improving things since last week and our team has been working
around the clock to improve Mt.Gox to catch up with the demand. We will continue to release several updates today
and in the coming few days to improve our system overall performance.

Also please note that we may have to close the exchange for two hours in the next 12 to 24hrs to add several new
servers to our system.

Thank you for your understanding and continuous support!
