About halfway through the giveaway period - there's still time for folks to jump on board and earn their chance a some brand new hardware - considering there's only a few people that have thrown their hats into the ring, odds seem pretty good that any given participant could win.

We've officially started! Hop on board and get folding! So I just installed the folding software, performed the setup as donor
kleinmat
joining the team 224497 and started the software.
Anything else that needs to be done?
Thanks Matt
You should be all set. Vorksholk's guide is pretty straight forward, though it might take a while for your stats to update. Happy folding, and good luck!

Announcing the first Curecoin giveaway – your chance to win a GTX 760 or games! With the launch of Curecoin becoming closer to a reality, Vorksholk and Yeltz have teamed up to create the first Curecoin giveaway contest. The official beginning of the contest period will be Wednesday December 4th 1:00PM Pacific and run for for exactly 7 days, ending on 1:00PM December 11th. Curecoin fundraiser still open, even small donations are appreciated This. I'm glad to have gone in with Vorksholk on a brand spankin' new nVidia GTX 760 to give away for folding epicness (stay tuned - it could be yours! ) but the more folks we have on board that hope to see the project thrive, the better.

Hey guys,
I just got caught up with this tread. I wanted to thank everyone for your feedback, concerns and criticism - they're all appreciated. As you can see, a lot of these things have already been addressed, but so far as I'm concerned, keep them coming. It's going to mean a more solid project for everyone.

In regards to the development fund, I can't blame anyone for raising an eyebrow. In addition to the explanation Vorksholk provided above, I believe that everyone involved with the coin (myself included) wants to see it succeed. For me, this means that being transparent is important - both in terms of the devs holding each other accountable, and keeping people informed with how funds are used. For what it's worth, Vorksholk and I went in on buying a beefy nVidia card to give away for folding (keep your eyes peeled for details) - I hope that such is a sign of dedication and backing behind the project.
So far as what the coin offers, it's important not to lose sight of the larger picture. That is, creating an economic incentive to fold. Look at how successful the beta folding team was - we rocketed up through the ranks in a matter of a couple weeks. After launch, I wouldn't be surprised to see the CureCoin folding team out-ranking every one. And sure, it would be great if everyone would fold out of the goodness of their hearts to advance research on treating terrible diseases, but if we're able to attract people to folding with the incentive of a coin, then everybody wins - that is, we all get to be a part in creating a better future for humanity. I suppose what I'm saying is that the coin is more than the coin itself, it's everything that comes with it.

We'll see how it goes... Potential, yes.... though... it's not Curecoin.

Hey guys, This has turned out to be a more drawn out process than I had initially imagined (but I suppose that's a good thing that's allowing me to run multiple rounds of drafts). Anyway, I've incorporated a number of ideas here in more versions of the logo. I figured the more eyes/feedback I get, the better, so am updating this thread in hopes of more comments / criticisms. The additional drafts can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/e07h6As an example: The most obvious change is the change in the Kanji, thanks to friends of friends, I've been informed that the old character "can" mean to cure, but without context, those familiar with the character/language would probably associate it with another meaning and/or be confused. So in short, I think I'm on the right track, but am always good to have additional thoughts and interpretations - so far as additional work on these specific designs, I know I'll need to re-balance/center some of the text... I'm still considering these drafts. - yeltz

CureCoin for the win! Check out this post on how to join the team/pool: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261521.0. Despite being such a new team, we're already within the top 1/2 of one percent of all folding teams! AND IT'S STILL JUST A BETA!
