My people are closing in on the thiefs as we speak. They shall be punished severely. Unfortunately I doubt any coins will get returned. But at least know Justice will be handed out in a very very painful manner.

I hope your joking.  I do not care about Justice.  I just want my coins back.  If you don't care about the coins, just go away.

Yeah great. Thanks for the update.

UPDATE:  My original message may turn out to be FUD!.......is the server coming back up?? Maybe I'll be eating the words I typed in my original post.  (New Messages finally appeared at the end of the tunnel on Jan8th 7pm....TOO BE CONTINUED.....

Jan 8th 10:30PM
Still nothing but a ghost of the exchange echoing.
Eventually you can refresh login to see balances that seem to be there but withdraw is disabled.
You can view prices from the date of the crash and all coin pages but trade is disabled.

Wallet status was able to run.  All wallets came up as mostly enabled but none were online or had any other info.

Eventually you get kicked back out to the snapshot of the page frozen in time that was taken with new years eve message.

Jan 9th Starting to see glimpses of life from the site but still looking somewhat uncertain.

Jan 10th 1am:  The message finally changed!  "Almost Done!  few problems with DB load balancing".......   So is it coming back?  Most think yes it's coming back!

Glitchy flickering of the trade history and order books.......I hope that is a good sign that its being worked on.....

To Be Continued.....STARTING TO LOOK GOOD!

Jan 10th  9am SITE IS COMING TO LIFE!!  Soon I think it will be up!
Much more stable, starting to live testing happen.
Still no trading or withdraw but balances are steadily showing on the trade pages along with order books.

Will Coinsmarkets come back ready for the new influx of traders?
To be Continued.......

Jan 10th 9pm More good signs!  Site is stabilizing.  Looks like wallets are coming online and beginning to sync!

WILL COINSMARKETS.COM come back online?Huh??  Chances are looking BETTER!

Do they have an offical Discord ?

They have nothing official, no social media.

Coinsmarkets.com is a SCAM site.

Maybe.
We are waiting on Empirical Evidence either way.

I'll go back and edit all of my posts if the site comes back up, my coins are there and trading or at least withdraw is enabled.

If coinsmarkets wants to do the right thing and thereby keep customers they would inform people of what is going on.  At least turn on the email server.  It is pretty troubling that the support email server is not even accepting emails and none of the auto generated emails for login or password reset are running.

people who operates on cryptocurrency markets should first visit some computer classes before posting something like that

If they can't fire up just the email server fine.  But knowing something about computers has nothing to do with informing customers of current status.  Regular status updates with a few actual details would stop people feeling they got cheated.  7 days down and barely a word sets off some red flags for most people.

look around, whole markets is overcrowded. i saw how they tried to send some info from time to time BUT ITS NOT WORKING FOR THE COMMUNITY - its just can't read. this is just depressing. devs are just trying to work, but its impossible with this crowd. id shut down everything completely so id be able to finish the job in silence. majority can not read and scan the situation. no wonder why the amount scam is growing too fast

A more honest company would make users aware of the complete truth and work to make a way for people to withdraw as a first priority.  If they just let people withdraw what they have, the exchange gets a good reputation and people will return.  Just leaving everyone with no information is ruining their reputation.

Guys a situation like this happened in September i think and they resolved it in like a week or so.
Plus they keep changing the ?headline? of the website, right now it says "configuring" .
No need to spread FUD.

I will change my post calling coinsmarkets a SCAM site if and when I can access trading and withdrawal.  Otherwise, I am not spreading FUD, just warning others to be careful where they send coins.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Experiences with CoinsMarkets.com? on: January 08, 2018, 04:47:16 PM

   Stupid.

Gee thanks for pointing out how I feel.  Constructive criticism would have been better, or some advice on how to avoid scams.  Or maybe you were also scammed?  I posted hoping to stop others from losing their money.

If coinsmarkets.com starts working and I can trade and withdraw there, I will change my post to say I was wrong about them.

Original Post Jan 8th:
BEWARE: The servers have been down for 7 days.  Supposedly for an upgrade.  The site was hugely popular at the time it went down.  No real word from the site owners about if it will ever be up.  People want to be positive about it because their coins cannot be withdrawn and they hope the will get them back.  It is looking more and more like that will not happen and the coins are gone.

DO NOT deposit to that site. They may leave deposit enabled but never come back so your coins will be lost.  I feel really bad for those who lost money.  Please, let it be a lesson.  DO NOT trust an exchange.

Honestly, I wonder if most of the coins on coinsmarkets were actually made by coinsmarkets scammer themselves.

MY EXPERIENCE:
So many red flags throughout dealing with these guys.  I went there like many to buy a coin nobody else had, ECA Electra(I don't trust these guys either).
1. I deposited
2. I traded and it all seemed good.
3. Even was able to pull real profit of well known and trusted coins, confirmations and all.
4. Jan1st The site started going down.  Access was spotty.
5. Jan 3rd All access was cut off.
6. Jan 3rd A new exchange started selling ECA electra, coinhouse.eu (I don't trust this either, though it was officially announced by ElactraProject.org)
7. Jan 3rdish, Another exchange mentioned in what looked like official doc on discord for ECA. (bitafex, likely another fake exchange.)
8. Despite supposed new exchange and still increasing price of ECA, coinmarketcap stopped being updated as coinsmarkets was the only market they had listed for Electra.
6. Chat kept going, with no sign of a real moderator, email for password resets stopped coming.
7. Jan 4thish, email server for support@coinsmarkets.com stopped accepting emails.  Previously the supposed dev was even answering questions.  Now, the email server is just gone.
7. Jan 5th -8th Occasionally access seemed to allow login, balances looked good.
8. Jan 2nd - 8th Still no withdrawal, nothing but bots and trolls pretending to be coinsmarkets admin.

RESULTS:  It looks like it was a scam.

PLEASE, if you lost money to these guys, use it as a lesson and do not trust until you are certain.  I would be wary of most coins and tokens out there at this point becauseI think fraud is rampant.

Do Not Feel too bad, make your life better, love your family and make safer choices in the future.  You are more important than coins and money.

I'm considered smart and am technically savvy.  But I was tricked, I bought into the hype.  Lost some hard earned money.

PLEASE NOTE:  I will check occasionally to try and get my money.  If anything changes I will update this post to reflect that.

CURRENT STATUS:  Coinsmarkets.com is a SCAM site.  Coinhouse.eu is likely a SCAM site.  Coincontrol is likely a SCAM site.  Bitafex is likely a SCAM site.  Electra ECA, is likely a SCAM coin.  Beware any coin only only listed in one obscure site.

The dev of electra should really consider taking down that weebly page or at least redirect it to the almost completed new page.

Fund value has close to doubled.  And there is $1million that will be invested into startups related to ai investment I believe.

As far as dividends, the collective voted to keep reinvesting into the coin pool instead of take dividends.  The topic will likely be voted on again at some point.

At the time of the ico btc was $3000.

Check the blog for valuation announcements.

My btc just came in!  The transaction took 5 day, but I got it, 2 confirmation, done.

I am actually ok with this considering the low quantity of btc I was receiving.  It is expensive to send btc!

So for those concerned, I successfully bought and sold on aicoin.io from the dash board.  In fact I made profit.  I still have my initial coins from the ico but pulled out some of my profit from other buys.  I'm not the only one either.  Maybe I am not reading it correctly but it looks like multiple transactions from aicoin to people pulling some btc out.

Honestly, I wish I would have just bought more as it dipped a bit because I see this one steadily growing.  Maybe not as exciting as the crazy up and down swings seen elsewhere, but it has a good chance of a steady rise anda better chance to be in the right place at the right to time to hit the jackpot.  New project investment has not even started!

Just holding a single coin like btc is no guarantee.  I think the approach of an automated trading is great.  Even better if it improves over time.

Actually buying and selling to ride the constant changing tide is not easy.  To me the aicoin approach is an easier way to profit.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AICOIN ICO: The Investment Collective that Builds Wealth for tokenholders on: December 22, 2017, 05:10:34 PM
I don't think this is a scam.  The fund is going pretty well and work has been on going with the voting system and updates are continuously coming.  If it were a scam, I think they would have taken the money and ran already.  I have received direct responses from support pretty quickly despite my meager investment.  The fund is making money, I think they stand to make more money as a legitimate endeavor than to just scam people.

Considering the recent downturn in a lot of crypto, I think we will really see how this ai does.  If it weathers bad times in the crytpo market, I think that will show it's real potential, likely will even profit from the downturn.  Also, I'm really interested to see the investment fund start buying in on new projects.  To me the investment fund could be where the collective hits the jackpot.

Has anyone been able to sell Aicoin and get the funds?  I find it unlikely that a scam would continue to put in so much effort to continue looking legit.

For me they actually transmitted a transaction and I see it on blockchain.info by searching my wallet address.  A slow transaction does not mean scam, though it would have been nice if the transaction fee were higher to make it a timely transaction.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AICOIN ICO: The Investment Collective that Builds Wealth for tokenholders on: December 22, 2017, 04:48:55 PM
If you go to blockchain.info and put in the address of the wallet you were receiving to you can see the transaction.  The Aicoin site only shows whether it is pending for them to send the transaction.  Once it is not pending, you can see it on blockchain.info.  No longer pending means the transaction has been transmitted by Aicoin and now awaits confirmation via the blockchain.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AICOIN ICO: The Investment Collective that Builds Wealth for tokenholders on: December 22, 2017, 04:13:25 PM
This site shows that 85 sat/B is on the low end for transaction fees.  https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/
I am on that same transaction and was wondering the same thing.  It could be days or never.  If it takes too long I believe the transaction is effectively reversed and can then be resent but I'm not sure how long that is.

How long do we have to wait for these to confirm?  Can they be resent, if so when?

I think for the sake of those with lower investments, an option to receive in Litecoin would be nice.  The transaction fees for a timely send are lower.  I sent $100 Litecoin yesterday and it had 6 confirmations in 10 minutes.

Is this a possibility to add Litecoin as an option to receive?

The site is not mobile friendly.  It works but looks funny on a phone.

If you request the desktop page it looks fine on my phone.

However,  I think a lot of people do expect a responsive website that adjusts for mobile viewing.  Also, many people may not even be aware they can request a desktop page.  So for some people who are viewing in their mobile, the page feels unprofessional.

It would not be too much work to add some jquery or otherwise conditionally change the gui to change size and placement to look good on a mobile.  This would help make the sites appear more legitimate.  Its wordpress so a change in theme could work,  but more importantly,  it works.

In my opinion, I hope the concentration is in the backend and AI itself.  Making the site responsive for mobile should be done sure, but base functionality is more crucial.

So give the programmers a break on the gui and realize they hopefully were more concerned about security and main goal of the functions required.  I hope before changing the ui for mobile they add some security like 2 stage authentication.
