1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: April 17, 2018, 03:05:42 PM
We are very happy to announce that we are working on a new restructuring of the website of cyptonite.info. This work should be finished in a few days, please stay tuned!

#sekker

I keep looking, and keep seeing the same old website Sad

pallas can you please tell us in more details what's your future plan for XCN development. do you planning to make XCN as Eth, Stratis etc..
What I'm currently doing, besides the endless search for better exchanges, is making the transaction bot, which will be used to test tx throughout and block size adjustment. There might be other uses for it, so I will try to structure it in a way that it can be easily expanded.
Finally, I'm in private talk for a possible real world usage of cryptonite but it's to early to announce anything.

Thanks for the heads-up Pallas, all info like this helps improve confidence that things are going somewhere.S
Still think you need more help from the rest of the team or a bigger team.
Also Roadmap, even just a vague one would be nice....

I agree, I need help, but things are already improving: there is enexus doing additional coding, sekker doing media and stuff, probably we are getting a guy for web and social, and bitfreak is still active :-)

Glad to see you finally getting some proper help. Hope you kick Nano's @ss! Smiley

Total Market value of XCN is way less than even 1/2 $M! so there are no major investor here......
There are virtually no transaction except mining payments every few seconds... and no actual USE of the coin at present for anything.....

Yes, obviously we all hope it's going to be adopted by some people for use in the future, but as everyone keeps saying, it's been around for some time now, and it's usage has DROPPED rather than been adopted, and I think it's only fair to ask what work is being done and what is planned over the next few years to get it into REAL USE, and not just a mining project with no real value...?

Again, since it HAS been around for so long, I think it's even MORE reason why there should by now be some kind of decent roadmap planned for the future of XCN... or is everyone just sitting around mining just HOPING that people magically start using it to buy goods, and the applications and services required to make that happen just pop out of thin air? Now that is dumb.....

I'm not looking for a silly flame war with the morons in here, just asking what the plan is.......

BTW I'll say once again that Pallas is doing a great job on his own, but he really needs backup, as well as a support team of sorts to let him get on and do the important stuff, and not just dealing with questions like ours.

What happens if Pallas gets run over tomorrow? What are the rest of the "team" doing?

Report to moderator, every non-sense post from these new accounts, it's getting boring, repetitive and plainly dumb. In Slimcoin thread there are people, who are asking how many icos tokens was released. It's just dumb.

Are you referring to my comment? Trolling gets you nowhere. I'm certainly not talking non-sense, and I AM DEFINITELY NOT DUMB!

Keep your posts polite or don't make them.

I have invested a reasonable amount into this project, and I am supporting it. That doesn't mean that I don't have any questions about it's future, and this is just continuing on from a previous response from Pallas to my earlier comments.

If you have nothing constructive to say, I suggest you keep your "dumb"  comments to yourself

The level of idiocy and complacency, is at ATH on this forum, and only hope, that this big correction will ride them out, of here.

This is prevalent throughout unfortunately.

It is due to the massive influx of newbies that involve themselves in something that has been around longer than the few days they care to research. There is a meme floating about the place (which i wished i saved now) saying something along the lines of ...

newbie - I just got into Crypto yesterday and started buying ICO coins and trading some Alt coins ...
newbie - I am now a CryptoExpert and CryptoAdvisor a week later because I traded and bought coins.

Amazing the amount of 'experts' out there that can teach us all a lesson or two Tongue

Other than trying to get this coin onto some more and bigger Exchanges, is there any set plan for actually getting the coin into REAL use?

It's all well and good to trade and gamble on Exchanges, but unless a coin has a REAL use in REAL life, the value will always be a complete gamble, because it has no actual use and serves no purpose, therefore demand will remain just by gamblers....

I think in addition to trying to get onto a decent exchange, you need to show some plans and work towards some eventual use for this coin, be it as a day to day currency for purchasing (in which case you need to be talking to card companies, or have some specific service that it can be used for...  Obviously the first is preferable, but creating coins with no actual use or purpose has been done by everyone and his dog, and most are going the way of the Dodo.

This is a good technology but needs to show some long-term plan at least, and preferably some timeframe and work in progress to get it into ACTUAL REAL LIFE use....

Just saying....

Cheesy  you called this one chrysophylax

My comments are questions were fair and valid, and no I'm not a noob, probably been working on computers since before you were born!  Certainly seems like it by your childish and unhelpful comment....

IF there is an app being tested where is the activity on GitHub?

https://github.com/substratum-net/

They told this many times, that don't want to put on Github to not be copy.

If that's true, my apologies, not seen that.

However, in a recent interview with DataDash, I seem to recall that he said that the code is mostly open source and that he is not worried about people copying, and that only a small amount of the server side transaction processing software would be undisclosed code....

so where is all the open source code?

I also heard this in another interview.
So if it is open source, where is the code ?

Days go by... no code, no response....

Hmmmnnnnn........

I'm still backing this project, but starting to worry you have missed your window.

You keep saying you are waiting to put out a proper marketing campaign, but other coins are starting to steal your thunder.

The BIG selling point of XCN is the small blockchain, and balance only idea, but with things like XRB(Nano) etc. now available with similar ideas, bigger teams, better marketing and no transaction fees, it's difficult to see what's going to attract people to XCN now that you have bigger players offering similar products, marketed well and with other bells and whistles too....

I'd love to hear your opinions on this?

Honestly my plans for Cryptonite have been damaged countless times in the past. Now we have the exchange issue which is really frustrating and I see we are not alone in this regard.
Thing is, new coins have much more appeal for investors, miners, exchanges, etc. but for most it's just a loss, as most of the new coin don't last more than a few months.
That's bad because people, the market, etc. should favor old coins which have some value, instead on focusing on (apparently) quick and easy profit.
But that's how it is. Add to that we don't have premine or block reward to use as funds, and you get the picture.

Having said that, I'm sure we will get into an exchange soon, be it nova or any other, and then I think we will start some serious marketing (I have a lot of ideas about that, and even know some poeple that would really help with this). I can't promise anything but, if my activity on this forum and everywhere else means something, I think you can trust me that this coin will go ahead and past this difficult period, with me and all the people that helped.

Thanks for the quick and detailed response.

I'll keep supporting you, but I humbly suggest getting at least SOME marketing done, before Nano and others make money off something you created first.....

Perhaps posting here some links to new coin requests on the Exchanges you are targeting would get you in quicker....

I must admit I'm crazy busy and have not found time to look for the new coin request pages on Exchanges I use (many), but if I saw a few links directly to those pages here that would save my time, I'm sure I'd take the 5-10mins required to put in some requests for you.

An email containing them would be better, and probably get a much better response too Smiley

Just an idea...

I downloaded the mining program, but it doesn't do anything. There's no instructions and it just flashes up a command window that disappears just as quick!

I also tried messaging the "Contact Us" on the website, but seems it either doesn't work, or I'm just being ignored Sad

I own a lot of XCN, I'd like to mine too, but everything feels like pulling teeth at the moment!

Please use this thread or slack for support.
If you make a bat file with "pause" command at the end, you can see the error message which is printed before the window closes.

The error is saying it expects a URL....

Is there not normally a batch file supplied with a miner with all the required parameters?
There's nothing in the zip file I downloaded....

Standard ccminer parameters:

-a m7
-o [stratum url]
-u [username]
-p [password]

Sorry, I've worked in IT for 30 years, but I've never mined coins before. That means nothing to me....

make a bat file containing:

ccminer -a m7 -o [stratum url you get from the pool] -u [your username on that pool] -p [your password]

pause
Thanks.

Can you suggest any pools that support XCN mining?

Can we please get some updates on what is happening to this currency other than attempts to get it onto more exchanges.....

Whilst that's important, more important is what is the schedule for testing, rollouts etc..

I cannot see any real work being done for a long time on the code except some small security fixes.

Is there a plan? What is planned? How it is progressing? Who is doing what?

Is there a schedule? any Deadlines?

Sorry, the idea sounds great, but the value of the currency is falling to zero again, it's basically only traded on 2 exchanges, BTER and a little Exchange in Thailand, neither of which are the most stable of exchanges.

What I'm saying is, it would be nice to see some planning, and more openness on what if anything is progressing.

The way it looks now, the value is dropping to nothing, Exchanges are not taking it on, and there appears to be no real work or even plan in place on how this currency is going to go forward....

Sorry to sound so negative, being an investor with a vested interest I want the currency to succeed, but I see very little here or on the actual website that indicates any kind of plan or progress...  Sad
