1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade only Bitcoin on: October 02, 2023, 06:03:46 AM
Do you mean trading in Bitcoin only and its relatively low volatility to net some profit? Not much but at worst, you can become its holder and bet on the long-term profit. Typical most traders' portfolios have the majority in Bitcoin like that and a small percentage in the other high volatility alts. This is a normal thing so don't worry about that or try to split your Bitcoin bag into smaller alts if you don't feel comfortable enough.

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: August 19, 2022, 07:29:10 PM
I think that the resistance at $23k is a weak resistance, its not that strong, as compared to the resistance at $25k. We all can see the sharp rejection after it had reached $25k. It will break those resistance soon its just a matter of time. But I'm having a feeling that bitcoin might test 21k again the upward movement is not yet confirmed totally, but I believe that the bear season will soon be over

Then you can't call it resistance as all if it can withstand that price, but I do agree that $25,000 is the real resistance because we have been rejected many times upon reaching this price. And as we can see in the last month, we moved from $20,000-$25,000 and that has been our price action.

Quickly glancing at the price, we are still in the $23,500 range, so not sure if we will retest $21,000 again. I mean the support at $22,000-is very weak. Unless some negative news again affecting investors mindset and sold short term.
Well like I said earlier and much more expected, bitcoin went below $23k and hit a low of $21.3,in  crypto space nothing is impossible, just one candle can push bitcoin up to 30k and also a single candle can take it to 10k, the manipulation here is real, I knew that bitcoin would reject the 23k resistance despite the fact that its not a strong resistance as the 25k,no negative news just pure price movement and boom 21k
No manipulation this time dude, just people fearmonger over the FED hint of interest rate hikes continuing. They must saw many countries in the EU showing a record high inflation rate recently. Implying FED interest rate hikes will soon pick up to fight it too. I guess many who have bought BTC at below $20k now cashing out since it was a decent profit after all. And with the FED hint just like that, why would you keep holding, right? All seem very sensible, not seeing why you think it was "the manipulation" here.
btw, the $23k resistance is not a real resistance in my definition. How long BTC has been over this resistance price? Since 10/08/2022? Just for 10 days. And you think it was a resistance price? Any time it comes close to but turns back with a strong push? See how it shouldn't be considered as a resistance price and why it was broken?
6  Economy / Economics / Re: Fuel prices hitting an eight year high on: August 19, 2022, 06:54:01 PM
All talks about future trade, oil priced in, oil price are driven by speculation from summer trips,... I'm not buying it! The oil cartel just wants to drive the oil price back to high again and justify it with their trade bullshit. We're fucked as this is the summer price. If back to fall/winter, coal along with natural gas will both be in demand. Oil can follow with mark-up price based on the baseline right now.

Despite the economy is in a shabby situation. China doesn't use as much oil as before, with no domestic tours in a country with a population of 1,4 billion. God, the oil cartel truly got everyone in their string.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: August 19, 2022, 06:09:45 PM
It is really surprising to see a team like Manchester United at the bottom of the points table. We know that Manchester United have released Cristiano Ronaldo and Gabbani a few days ago but they are not getting the results they expected from these two stars. However, Manchester City have maintained their reputation but are currently at the top of the points table with Arsenal in second place. But still only from the next match if Manchester United can show their proper game on the field maybe they can climb up the points table.
They are in fomo on transfer market again.

Buying Casemiro with high cost and giving him a third highest salary in the club. They are betting that Casemiro will fix holes in their midfield and accept that likely they will not be able to sell the player in future. He is 30s and at then end of contract, he will be in his 34. No club will buy him in future at high cost.

Varrane joined with lost of hope in the past season but now we can see he can not improve Manchester United defense too much. Now it is another bet with Casemiro. That is a stupid transfer if we compare cost for Casemiro and cost to get Tchouameni. Not big difference and Real Madrid will have 10 years to use Tchouameni. Very long plan with Tchouameni, while Manchester United can only use Casemiro in a few seasons.

In addition, he will have to move to a different league. Will he be able to adapt to Premier League?
Casemiro seems like the best out there compared to De Jong or Antony who both asked for a lot of money. 80 million for Antony, can you believe it? Erik ten Hag doesn't know how to pick up a good player so. For example, he bought Lisandro Martinez for 50-60 million but I haven't seen Lisandro Martinez show any worth. Casemiro at least seem will give the needed change for Manchester United's midfield. Manchester United can't afford for making a profit from transferring players. They need to show a good result right now or Erik ten Hag will be out and Manchester United back to the old uninspired self.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you guys invest meme coins now? on: August 19, 2022, 05:41:41 PM
I'd never invest in a meme coin after it has gone to the mass, exposed, and become popular already. No, it seems like a stupid move to me to invest in a meme coin that late. Cause from that point, a meme coin can't go any far since it doesn't have anything to be considered as 'the holy grail' of crypto. Trends like decentralizing, dapp, smart contract,... nothing.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Price To Buy Ethereum on: August 18, 2022, 07:56:03 PM
Ethereum was dumped down to 950$ in latest Bear market and now it's trading 2x from that price. My question is , what is best price to buy ? Buy now or wait to down 600$?
What makes you think it will go down to that level, at $600? I think that's ridiculous after it rebounded 50% then goes down to -70%. I think the time for buying will come before the merge and it's this time but as always not a financial advice, we never know what will happen since there are huge institutions that aren't that favor in a PoS Ethereum.
It was the POW miner's fud. They think after the POS rollout, ETH will lose its momentum and crash back to below $1000 again. Lol in their wildest dream. Newbie investors easily fall for fud, especially fud that comes from the miner.

There might be a slight correction for ETH post-Merge but to crash back below $1000 or at $600 is insane. Doesn't carry any merit at all!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Smart Contracts Deployed per Month Decreasing on: August 18, 2022, 07:48:35 PM
Do you have the latest data up to July? Cause this is already in everyone's expectations. The rush of new projects on the ETH smart contract slows down since ETH's price keep increasing in the last years. ETH ATH in Oct-Nov 2021 which we can see a massive cut-off from before there that. BNB, Sol, Matic,... greatly benefit from ETH's expensive transaction gas gwei. This is a reason why I support PoS cause after that, ETH will start to address the fees problem.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 18, 2022, 07:34:15 PM
I guess it won't be easy for Man United to sign Casemiro. Money can indeed solve many problems but money will not always be the answer to everything, the proof is that what Man United offered to De Jong was not able to shake his stance. Most likely if Casemiro gets certainty (about his contract extension at Madrid) then surely he will reject the offer from Man United. If only Real Madrid didn't give Casemiro any guarantees, then Man United will have a hope to sign him, but it is also possible for Casemiro to stay at Real Madrid until his contract ends, which means Man United should come back at a later date if they still want him.
To get Casemiro already seen the green light from Real Madrid. Initially Manchester United offered Casemiro for £50 million, then Real Madrid raised the price to £60 million.
Manchester United agreed to the price desired by Real Madrid. If this is true, Casemiro will only have to undergo a medical to join Manchester United and the former Sao Paulo man signed by Real Madrid in 2013 will become only the fourth player to land at Old Trafford since the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
It seems that this will be an opportunity for Casemiro after the negotiations that were offered but according to sources on Friday it will be completed to buy Casemiro who would have thought that the figure offered was quite large for the 30-year-old player.

After Frankie De Jong was uncertain, with Casemiro's signing in my opinion quite good as a formidable midfielder, Erik Ten Hag really needed him so this was his target before the transfer window closed.

At least with the arrival of another midfielder they can be stronger to help his attack and defense.
The deal with De Jong fell through because of the high price which De Jong asked for 85 million while Man United can only pay at best for 75 million. All thanks to the panic buy from the Man United that some players want to squeeze more to get their signing on the Man United. Erik Ten Hag understood quite well the full of hole midfielder so of course, he wants to patch that first. If not De Jong then Casemiro. Casemiro seems old but he's reliable for the midfielder role.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: How micro payments can help to alleviate global poverty on: August 18, 2022, 05:17:13 PM
A digital wallet that supports or is compatible with lower phone versions. For example, in the past when I wanted to install a crypto wallet application but the condition of the phone was not adequate, in other words, it was not compatible with the device I was using. So here I hope that application developers can create digital wallets that can be accessed by the public there in general with the type of cellphone they hold.

Because today's technology is sophisticated and today's smartphone users don't have too many obstacles if it's only for transactions. The case may be with minimum fees and withdrawals if using an exchange platform. As for the micro income that supports digital transactions among the local community, it is quite difficult to accept. Because what they need is direct money without a third party that can cut the costs of sending and withdrawing.
Agree, the smartphone today can be as cheap as $25-50 for a very basic spec but can still work with any wallet provide there is a lite version typical made for transactions only. I think there are programs where manufacturers and telecom even 'sponsor' free smartphones for poor people to help them stay connected with the government to receive critical information. Especially in the rural region where floods, typhoons, volcano eruptions,... natural disasters happen annually.

So we got the hardware problem sort of. Next would be the internet fee which I think is even more challenging than minimum fees and withdrawals. Because for minimum fees and withdrawals fees, we can add some protocol where miners doing 'charity works' or community rigs only add specific txid from users/accounts come from that rural region. Same for exchange, try to get them to make a whitelist for those users/accounts too.

Free internet to maintain 24/7 connection for that rural region, now this is a problem. How about this: We get Elon Musk with his Starlink satellite internet to provide free coverage in that rural region zone, promise a good free press for him and his Starlink program as a return, more boost for him in the crypto world. What do you guys think?
13  Economy / Economics / Re: China's debt bomb looks ready to explode on: August 17, 2022, 06:23:11 PM
The US isn't that vulnerable to the high debt-to-GDP ratio since the petrol dollar and dollar as the main currency for world trade, main in foreign reserves of many countries. Same with Japan cause they are the world's biggest creditor, and fund their money to oversea under ADB's loans to developing countries. US and Japan will be fine.
China? Not so much since they have had the real-estate bubble problem for years but never address it. The covid pandemic last year affect the whole world and this somehow take a toll on China's real-estate bubble. Forced their central government to tighten the bank's interest rate for the construction sector, housing, mortgage,... you name it. Oddly similar to the US's montage crisis in 2007-2008.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New whale bought $3 billion dollars worth of Bitcoins.. on: August 17, 2022, 04:57:57 PM
More detailed interaction between MicroStrategy, other wallets and 1LQoWist8KkaUXSPKZHNvEyfrEkPHzSsCd, you can see that coinbase wallets are also sending bitcoin to Microstrategy and then later sent to the legacy wallet address.

I see you mentioning that name 3 times and labeling some addresses as such but can you please elaborate:
- what addresses are those owned by MicroStrategy as you never mentioned them
- why do you think those are owned by them at all other than having a lot of coins?

Still the author got what he wanted and thats your click and his ad revenue.

Unfortunately for him, I use uBlock and  so his add revenue is zero!  Grin
Worse, you wasted their bandwidth data so they were with the net loss, not you! Take that shitty unethical journalism site. I know the server's bandwidth nowadays is dirt cheap but if only 100% of users clicked on that article come with ad block like you, the site would be at the net loss.

I retain many doubts about Microstrategy selling their stash.
I am going to post here the first three reasons that come to my mind, in relative order of importance:
  • To date, any labelling of a bitcoin wallet to Microstrategy appeared shady or tentative to me. I guess their UTXO management is very wary of privacy considerations, so I tend to believe that any labelling is improbable, to say the least.
  • As Micheal Saylor said, Microstrategy is a listed company, hence any movement in their Bitcoin Stash, as a price sensitive informa to in, as to be readily disclosed to public. So there cannot be things as “rumours”. This is more true when the alleged sell is not negligible.
  • Micheal Saylor reiterated also recently that any sell in Bitcoin is against their “Bitcoin Strategy” so I tend to believe they are not selling.
Not sure but a change in Microstrategy recently where Phong Le succeeded Saylor as CEO implies they might start to abandon their 'old core' around Micheal Saylor's beliefs. Perhaps a more pragmatic approach even though Phong Le reiterated the same thing as Micheal Saylor, about HODL Bitcoin under his watch as well.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: August 12, 2022, 06:58:55 PM
This one is interesting: When a fan asked Real Madrid to re-sign superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, President Florentino Perez immediately refused. "Signing with Ronaldo again?", Perez turned around and said to the fans. "He (Ronaldo) is 38 years old."
It seems like President Florentino Perez forgot about Modric that was around 37-38 years old but still kicking in La Liga well. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in the top 3 of the Premier League. I think Cristiano Ronaldo deserves a chance at La Liga and President Florentino Perez shouldn't dismiss him like that, citing him as too old in a response to fans.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is scarcer than gold. on: August 12, 2022, 06:34:02 PM
Again with the comparison of BTC and Gold. It's like comparing apple to orange. Both have their own use and I don't see why they can't be on the same page. Gold for physical storage, peg fiat, in jewelry, in electrical components,... Did you know your computer can be extracted for a little of gold worth? Can BTC replace that? What next? Oil?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about altcoin market on: August 12, 2022, 05:56:07 PM
I think that you need to make sure there were high-tier alts and low-tier alts. Never looks all of them the same as alts. From that point of view, divide your investment fund properly into the majority at high tier atls and the minority at low tier alts. Even in the bear market time, I'd only dare put my fund in good and high-tier alts.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How trading during bear market can save your portfolio on: August 12, 2022, 05:25:31 PM
In bear market it is a good idea to buy certain tokens because at low price if you buy coins then  when the market is high in worth then you will get more of it than you buy. One more thing is that select certain good coins and make trading in some different tokens so you will be in profit because one coin goes down so there will be in little loss as you have use little money in different coins.
Nah, you haven't seen the trading discussion threads during the bear market. Plenty of people advise don't DCA or buy into the altcoins dip because if BTC went down, altcoins drop even further. Most agree you should stay at top altcoins like ETH, BNB,... and BTC. They're far better to have for you against the bear market downturn.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: August 11, 2022, 05:19:00 PM
CPI print, or Consumer Price Index, will be announced later! If it shows that inflation has finally peaked and has started to decrease/slow down, then I believe it's probably YOUR opportunity to buy EVERY DIP, and HODL. There might be actual fudsters in the forum who truly want that Bitcoin will crash more below $20,000 again, but perhaps they just missed their golden opportunity. There might be some DIPs to $21,000 though.

The CPI is only a few hours away, and many expect 8.7% this time, lower than last month. In theory, if the CPI falls as expected, everything should turn out fine. Every stock market, and cryptocurrencies are standing still waiting for CPI to be announced, I hope there will be no surprises. CPI falls but the market won't rise, anything can happen. The market is unpredictable, let's wait and see the results.

Cool

CPI printed 8.5%, less than what economists, investors, and traders expected. BUT I believe it's not yet over. Food and Energy prices may have fallen, but Rent inflation is still high. September's CPI print will be revealing if inflation is truly subsiding. Wait for September's rent inflation.

Plus watch the Reverse Repo Facility, https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/RRPONTSYD

If the money in there starts decreasing, that's more liquidity for the markets, and possibly Bitcoin.
Definitely not over yet. CPI at 8.5% is a good number for the short term but for the long term, there are still many risks in play. China's covid lockdown is very unpredictable. I think if you got any of the cryptos for cheap from the crash, cashing out a part of it if it was green seems like a sensible choice.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 11, 2022, 05:11:59 PM
De Jong refuses to take a pay cut, so he will be the highest paid player in Barcelona and will receive a full salary Cool As for playing time, this will obviously not be a problem either, since it is impossible to keep the most expensive player on the bench. Well, if Barcelona cannot register some newcomers, then in fact they will have no choice.
Barcelona fans were blaming him not to take an offer from barcelona. I saw that in some news de jong may go to the chelsea along with emerick aubameyang as well. Barcelona have no choice other than let de jong and aubameyang to go to the new club. It's also facing financial fair play as well. It's impossible keeping some players with highest salary in club at the same time.

I think all normal people do not care about the opinion of idiots who want you to give your money to someone  Grin Now this is not a question of the FFP, but a question of the budget cap on salaries that La Liga has set. Barcelona wants to get rid of De Jong, but it seems he is smart and does not succumb to the tricks of scammers.
What surprised me the most was the attitude of Barcelona fans towards this incident which was from Barcelona leadership. They should have spoken out against the way the De Jong case was handled to protect the Barcelona image. But they silently supported the Barcelona leadership and even hassled De Jong, telling him to lower his salary. Is this how Barcelona going to apply pressure on their players from now on? Lower your salary or goes? Will this hurt their reputation for any new contract signed under Barcelona?
