2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: March 26, 2023, 07:18:20 AM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.
I don't think it is really easy to pick out which new crypto project could really give you that kind of return from investing $100. From stories of people making huge amounts of profits from some of their investments, I believe it is totally luck and your ability to want to take risks. The more high risk you take on investment the more likely you would make that profit.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: March 26, 2023, 07:13:06 AM
If you're young and haven't inherited a property from your ancestors, chances are that you're forced to rent. Personally, I've been renting for over 6 years and have been living with my girlfriend for the last 4, sharing rent and utilities. Overall, we've both spent over €25,000 together, and after spending all this money, you're practically left with nothing and may be subject to looking for a new house at any moment.

The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is between €300 and €400 at best; thus, I was thinking that taking a loan is as costly as paying rent per month, but after 15-20 years, you end up with a house. My main concerns are the following: First, if you're in a long-term relationship like myself, you can never be 100% sure that you'll be with that person in 20 or 30 years from now, which might prevent you from opting for a loan. Secondly, you need to be certain that the location or city of the property to be bought is convenient for future job offers and so on. Thirdly, because a loan is a many-year commitment, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to afford the monthly payment 15 years from now.

On top of that, finding the ideal house as a renter is almost impossible; there's a lack of housing, and rents are extremely expensive and unreasonable at the same time. We had a difficult time finding a house recently, and it's far from ideal. There is now a new government-funded loan program that is about to start, funding up to 75% of the loan interest-free while the rest is funded by private banks and is subject to a relatively low interest rate. This led me to think about taking a loan and purchasing an average two-bedroom apartment, but I have the concerns that I voiced earlier.
Sometimes you might want to stay in that not-so-ideal home until you have been able to build up your finance to fund your own house. I know of a person that worked at a Bank and had a good paycheck but was staying in a one-room apartment and some of us thought he was not willing to spend money for himself but we later realize he was just staying there because he was building his own House which he currently stays, in fact, two of my friends actually lived this scenario.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 26, 2023, 05:56:29 AM
Hello everyone!
Recently I was thinking about BTC payments and I believe that the system is moving towards bitcoin adoption and paying with bitcoin. And it's great!

But the problem for me is that anytime I think about paying with BTC I feel somehow uncomfortable. I always remember the guy who spent 30+ bitcoins on pizza and now these bitcoins are worth a fortune. Like I don't want to be this guy and pay with an asset that WILL go up in price. It feels like you paying more for the product from a future perspective.

What are your thoughts about this? Personally, I usually try to buy with stablecoins if I have some, it just feels more natural for me. I don't want to touch my BTC while the market is still bad.
You are quite right but it really wouldn't matter if you don't have a choice. If at a point you trying to buy or pay for something and it happens that you do not have any funds on you and at the same time you can pay with Bitcoin, then you are left with whether to use your Bitcoin for payment or leave the transaction alone and if you really need to get it done, then you have to and don't look at what the Bitcoin/Satoshi would have earned you in years from now.

Do you think of fiat that way, (Like, Look at the amount of fiat I have spent since the beginning of this year, I wish I had invested in Bitcoin and it would have doubled the amount) So what happens if Bitcoin is now made a Legal Tender in your country is this how everyone would feel spending the Bitcoin they so clamored for to be a legal tender  Huh
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I got money today on: March 25, 2023, 04:22:45 PM
I am not doubting you in anyway but this sound like a fiction; how do you think of a woman contacting you without having a business deal before or even being link to someone that already established. You and I knows how it's for you or anyone else here to send you money or bitcoin without an escrow.
Right, I am not getting OPs story too. A person that knows Bitcoin and wants to Invest does not know anything about crypto exchange and if you were able to do all that for her and she bought the Bitcoin, where did she store them? she must have had an exchange wallet or she has a personal HD wallet which means she must know enough to do this by herself  Huh Just think through the story.
I hear you. From previous similar stories about helping people to buy Bitcoin, I think some how they do explain how they also helped the prison to save their Bitcoin buy in a wallet but OP seems to miss that part which I also think is important because you cannot help someone to buy some Bitcoin sat and not point them in the right direction on how to save the assets or maybe OP didn't see it necessary to point that out. Good work anyways to OP.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thanks to bitcoin on: March 25, 2023, 04:17:00 PM
In some countries where they have serious unemployment challenges many people have engaged in bitcoin to invest and into other aspects of bitcoin, just imagine if their were no bitcoin how will the common man invest the little he or she has. If there were no bitcoin I know their are investment people can go for but it will be something that the rich and middle class can afford to invest. In bitcoin the rich, poor and middle class can go into it, this is to say bitcoin is for every body.

With the recent challenge in Nigeria where the resigni of their currency has caused scarcity of flow of cash which is really affecting the citizens, I know bitcoin will also make a good contribution in this case because lots of young people in the country are engage to bitcoin.

I understand what you are saying,  and I somehow feel your pain.

In developing countries bitcoin is much more needed than in developed countries.  I am from Brazil and I can say that bitcoin made things way easier here  , specially for those who want to send their money abroad (in investment or just traveling)

In Nigeria bitcoin is probably way more important
I would say it is practically the same. Aside from the normal Bitcoin investment which is no longer an argument that Nigerians are well involved in, I also believe they will be using this for money transfers as well even though there is no good record of that but we do know it happens. I would definitely agree that Bitcoin has made a great deal of positive impact on the lives of many.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RUN, while you still can. on: March 24, 2023, 07:39:12 AM
Check this out

When you see something like this, RUN and Don't look back.

The official twitter channel of SPACE ID is @SpaceIDProtocol, the link in the picture above is fake, also why would I be qualified for something I don't even know or follow before? No task completed or whatsoever.

Never mind

I know where this is going, all those who couldn't tell the difference will join this raindrop with their BNB wallet address and this people will sent a fake SPACE ID token to your BNB wallet address.

You try selling the token, and that's when the once seemingly impossible thing will turn possible, all your tokens will be wiped out.

Be cautious out there, Twitter is boiling up with fake Arbitrum and SPACE ID giveaways right now.
Not just SpaceID and Arbitrum, the tweeter space has always been loaded with fake giveaways and truly people need to be careful with whatever they like out there. However, you can directly identify that the account isn't the tweeter account for SpaceID and that someone is trying to maybe do a genuine giveaway or just find a way to rip innocent people off.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not sleep on DEx Exchange tokens on: March 24, 2023, 07:27:07 AM
Guys do not sleep on new decentralized exchanges out there, they are growing very fast and their TVL is eye-catching, I think Dex tokens will make good profits in the next bull market, here are my favorite dex tokens.

1. GMX  2. GNS  3. VeloDrome  4. ZigZag  5. Perp protocol

Waiting to here from you guys which dex token is the best on your radar as we speak.
Just yesterday I tried to use ZigZag for some transactions and it was a horrible experience. I chatted with the admin on discord and still was unable to get a resolution. I might not know all these other exchange tokens but ZigZag is certainly not the one for me to even trade. I believe DEXs are a go-to these days and there might be some that their token will do well but someone needs to be careful in choosing.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to claim $ARB without Delegating on: March 24, 2023, 07:06:04 AM
Everything is back to normal and there is no need to rush, congratulations to everyone who received the ARB airdrop. And now I'm seeing $1.4 being traded, according to my experience receiving several airdrops in this market, there's no rush as the airdrop sellers weaken and the price goes up , so depending on each person's strategy, we will have the best profit approach.
You are right. I did miss the Airdrop but I did buy some from Binance exchange once it went live yesterday. I use to think airdrops are a waste of time Grin but recently, I have heard of these airdrops participants making good money from what they got from allocation. I believe airdrops the new ICOs and IEO of the coming years as it automatically gives the project a good number of followers.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Space ID token? on: March 22, 2023, 01:42:37 PM
Binance is going to list Space ID token this week. What do you guys think about this token? Can we expect at least 1$ value in this coin? As I can see there will be very big movements because this project is making hype in twitter because of their airdrop phases.
It is not just going to be listed on Binance, from the tweeter page of spaceID, they will be listed on Bitmat, Bitget, and actually started trading on Kucoin, pumped to $1 and now trading @ $0.47. There is really a lot of hype around this project and I believe for now, there will definitely be a pump when trading starts on other CEX like Binance and later a dump after but we understand the market is still in the bear season and when the bull season returns fully, it could go above $1
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Florida Governor DeSantis calls for CBDC ban on: March 22, 2023, 12:54:58 PM
I doubt it's going to work out like he hope, what possible threat could CBDC have when its completes Fiat in digital form? That's why this plan of his won't work out, the man is in fear that politicians will be able to move money without anyone knowing, but that's near impossible because CBDC is not a privacy stable coin, it is fully centralized and that's the main reason why many crypto fans don't want to have anything to do with the digital currency, it equals to the law and government spying on you, knowing what you are up to with your money.
It is almost sounding like he doesn't fully understand what CBDC is which I doubt but if his reason is actually thinking that
Quote
politicians will be able to move money without anyone knowing
then, that's a bit worrisome cos that was the reason some government actually adopted CBDC because they want to monitor every transaction and not that they couldn't even with just the online Banking transactions anyway which are one and the same thing.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 22, 2023, 12:42:54 PM
I don't think both are not important as far as I am concerned. Literally, I can say we have the best Investment asset alive now i.e. BTCitcoin, and if you are talking investment you are definitely looking at returns which to most Bitcoin investors is the amount in Fiat currency they can get to spend on personal needs and that is just about a lot of countries where you cannot spend Bitcoin directly on daily needs.

As you can see that both are important even if it was just in this term.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: March 22, 2023, 12:29:12 PM
This period do not encourage trading or investment but at the same time when price is down is good opportunity to buy cheap and when its explode you will gain it. Nothing is lost in bitcoin, those holding for long now are the great benefactors but if you buy this period is more safer.

If I have money now, I would buy half of bitcoin because in next three months it will double the current price. This is real because it always occur this way after 5 years remember in 2011 and 2017 from the market charts and caps. And this year will break more even.
I don't think that anybody that's really interested in Bitcoin and has taken the time to look at the market as you have mentioned shouldn't be advised on what to do as to have invested in Bitcoin when it went down to almost $15k and I do think Investment should actually be the word since you intend to hodl for a long term.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 19, 2023, 04:53:59 PM

Well, the inflation in my country now is not extremely high but has already damaged the economy. The cost of living is increasing and does not seem to stop. Last week one of my friends lost his job after working in the same company for a decade. His life abruptly changed, putting him in a place where he could not support his family. If you were him, how would you survive this tough time ? As a friend, I am trying to help him as much as I can and meanwhile, I am planning to save more money to prepare for the unexpected challenges in my life. What about you ?
Saving money is very important while you are still working because of things like this we might not see coming.  We have seen situations like this severely and it becomes difficult to cope when you no longer have monthly or weekly earnings coming in and you didn't have any savings. there is this popular rule, 50/30/20 rule so you can have something to fall back on while you search for another job.
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: March 19, 2023, 04:47:21 PM
If someone has experienced the ease of taking a loan then he will continue to take a loan for pleasure and lifestyle, nowadays people take loans not for needs or important things but mostly for fun and lifestyle, this is because social media makes everything possible. chaotic.
After taking the loans for pleasure and lifestyle hope they have the means of paying them back because we cannot forget that part of it and with interest too. If someone is going to take a loan for investment knowing fully well that it will pay itself back or there is a source of paying it back before ripping the earnings from the loan later is ok but just taking a loan for pleasure, I don't see a sense in that.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network mining on: March 18, 2023, 01:55:06 PM
Exchanges like XT.COM and Huobi have famously listed the Pi Coin for trading and have seen the prices boom on their App.

There has been much confusion on social media lately and within Pi Network community circles about the validity of these listings. We all know that KYC is still not fully functional, Pi Network closed mainnet currently does not have a timeline for opening.

But just imagine the hype a fake listing could create, now imagine if it was the real thing !?
I do actually hope as you say that after the mainnet launch, Pi might see a good showing in price because we actually saw what happened with even the fake pi coin listed on some exchanges and hope that will relate when the real thing goes live. I hope the team will get things done before this next Bull market fully take shape so we see how the coin will do.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: March 18, 2023, 12:54:02 PM
Hi, I'm new to here. So just want to ask your help or guide.

I have currently 800$ worth BNB. These are got from NFT that I sold back months ago that I got from airdrop. So what i need to know should I convert it to stable coin or should I invest it for bitcoin? Because my friends say that BNB don't have a future anymore. So I'm fully worry about this.
What reason did your friend give that makes him think BNB no longer has a future in the crypto world? He probably is one of those people that quickly react to FUD as in the case we heard about the Binance exchange the last time. If the Binance exchange is still up and trading, then BNB will still be very much relevant, and quite clearly, if not Bitcoin, I think every other coin/token could really go bust at any time from any news.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: March 17, 2023, 04:51:34 PM
Education doesn't necessarily mean knowledge and many rich people don't even have a degree because they thought its useless and not completely related to knowledge and skills. Education is the key for survival not for success so don't get confused between both cause it is different and knowledge is powerful in my opinion.

Unemployment is everywhere and lot of reasons are there why many doesn't have jobs but currently the fear of recession caused many companies including google, facebook, twitter, tesla, etc fired thousands of their employees to survive their winter. For us, we need to keep updating our skills so you won't be fired or can get a job in no time.
I do agree with you. while it might not necessarily mean School education, you do need the knowledge to manage the money you might come across. I can confirm to you that both the Co-Founders of the last organization I worked in were college dropouts and they did pretty well with the organization employing people with higher degrees and masters in the organization and we have seen this with those you listed too however, I believe we need some form of education.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a treasure. on: March 17, 2023, 04:42:46 PM
Good Day medium, there is something I will want us to be aware of since bitcoin is a life-changing investment some people are taking it as property, I say this because I overhear someone making a call and saying he has 2BTC and that's is his property.
Now that bitcoin is more valuable in most countries, that shouldn't be a property it should be an investment, those who see bitcoin as property should learn more or read more about bitcoin and how it works.
To me, bitcoin is an investment and also a treasure, I don't know if am wrong or right.
But if someone may ask you, what do you call BITCOIN?
I totally believe that he is referring to Bitcoin as his investment just as you see it but in a word he understands. If that person is referring to Bitcoin as his property I see it as an investment because having a property is also an investment that earns you profits over the years. The beauty is that that person owns 2BTC if he doesn't value Bitcoin he wouldn't be holding a whole 2BTC you do know that 2 BTC is life-changing in many locations right? so regardless of how people refer to it other than scam  Grin its ok.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why The Majority Of the Population Will Embrace CBDC's on: March 17, 2023, 04:34:33 PM
A backlash, certainly by those that are well informed will happen  As for the general public that is less informed and a bit lazy/naive - it will depend on how is presented.   The government giving out CBDCs and being presented as way to:

1.  protect the US dollar against foreign adversaries
2. combat fraud and crime
3. Give tax incentives
4.  Insure against bank failures

The government can stylishly force this CBDC on people without them realizing it. What am I saying? Take Nigeria for example. The Government just had a redesign of their Naire mostly the higher Dinoomination and they have since introduced CBDC which is not really been adopted by the citizens. Still, now, even though they are printing new designs of the new Naira notes, they are printing less quantity and asking for the citizens to go more cashless. At some point, they might just find themselves automatically adopting the e-Naira since there is less cash in circulation.
