7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone in the Bitcoin ATM business? on: August 04, 2020, 07:20:21 PM
How is going? Seems like machines continued fast growth during Covid... has it been a good year for the BATM owners?

Usually, banks own ATM machines except for those investing in off bank premises. As much as ATM are a big part of our banking system,  bitcoin ATM are not popular as portrayed.

You can only see ATM machine in country with wide acceptance of bitcoin. Now, these countries are not much so ATM machine will.probably be less than 100. For other countries where Crypto has been banned or limited, there's no ATM in those places
It will be interesting to withdraw fiat or local currency from bitcoin ATM. Look forward to that experience.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum : Its not too late on: August 04, 2020, 07:47:00 AM
Personally, I believe that the Ethereum coin is the most promising coin to invest in. And it's never too late to invest in Ethereum, as the Ethereum coin is always in demand in the cryptocurrency market. And to get an excellent income, you need to make an investment decision now.

As volatile as the crypto market is, I still believe in ETH. It's the best best after BTC and I hope that it will rise soonest. Though BTC dominates the crypto environment and most coins including ETH rides on BTC going high, it's still promising. 2018 were the best days of Eth - generally cyrpto. Eth got to over $1200+ then.

I believe ETH needs a breakaway so it can soar on its own. It's currently at it's high point this year after being low in January. A big pump is what it needs and with a new security team coming up, let's hope for the best.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top 6 cryptocurrency , Invest in 2020 on: August 04, 2020, 07:41:46 AM
How can Titan get into the top 6 cryptocurrency lists? even in coinmarketcap this coin is not in the top 100. You might forget some coins that are much better than titan like BNB, ADA and Chainlink

I'm still surprised to see Titan coin on that list above XRP, ADA, BNB and the likes. It's not even in Tier 2 coins. Whatever may be the reason, I'll pick BNB, ADA over it any time. BTC, ETH, are of course domonating the market.  Not even sure of Tether bas it's a stable coin. So no profits whatsoever on that coin.

We can only invest in BTC, ETH and other good alts for investment and price gain. LINK and the Defi coins are good too. But Titan  iwth that low volume is a big NO.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins getting Boycotted? on: August 04, 2020, 07:32:04 AM

Bitcoin dominance is above 65% which is something unusual since Altcoins started getting more interest from investors. It also seems that this percentage is increasing steadily for quite some time now. This is not surprising since Bitcoin was the most profitable coin in 2019 and people don't take the risk investing in altcoins anymore, they realized that Bitcoin is less risky as the price almost always eventually recover afterwards when it comes to BTC.

So what  to do you think? Are altcoin getting boycotted, giving Bitcoin an increasing dominance from now on?
It was even touched almost 70% and it was going back again to 65% and that means if altcoins are not yet boycotted. Just because it was getting a little increase in bitcoin's dominance and you can take a conclusion if the altcoin market has already boycotted. you can see that from this chart
https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage

People are still buying altcoins for the speculation purpose and only a small percentage that use altcoin as an investment. That's why altcoin was loosing its dominance because people are moving their portfolios to the bitcoin.

Bitcoin has majorly been the major investment coin followed by Ethereum. Altcoins will always be altcoins and can never replace bitcoins as investments. They most times ride on BTC price highs. Most altcoins are paired against BTC on exchanges and that greatly determine their volume band interest. Bitcoin bans Ethereum are seen to be safe and reliable which shows why people invest in them more.

However, there are some useless altcoins developed by teams for the purpose of making money and dumping on investors. These type of altcoins copy Whitepapers word for word and at the end, investors are left with unexplainable losses .

I still have some tier one altcoins for the purpose of trading and getting profits not really investment
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why lots of people got scam easily on: August 03, 2020, 08:41:35 PM
I agree with you on this. The number one reason for being scammed is greed. Little or no investment byet promising huge unexplainable returns should be a red flag but those looking for money by all means get scammed and fall for everything.

Scam thrives because there are greedy persons. Same with email and crypto scams. In fact some offers have scam written ball over them but because of greed, it's overlooked.

It is not because they are lazy, the main reason is because they are greedy and have no knowledge when investing in this market. It has made them easy to be fooled with scam projects
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do we really need stable coin? on: August 03, 2020, 08:34:44 PM
stablecoins are really useful in this market that is always volatile, you can keep your assets safe at stablecoins, useful in buying and selling very large because their value is not lost, and traders need stablecoin.

Yes. We do need stable coins. The crypto market is crazily volatile and as such, stable coins are needed to protect investment when there's a fall on the exchanges. When investors dump and you're uninformed, you'll end up with loses.

I believe they are a response to bitcoins volatility and it's this easy to exchange to usdt or BUSD depending on which exchange byou trade with. However, the stable coins are becoming much and you're almost undecided on which to have. It's major advantage is that you get the dollar value no matter drop or dump.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 mistakes to avoid when investing in Crypto on: August 02, 2020, 09:46:26 PM
very helpful, but I think it's mostly for newbies to think about, in my opinion there are only 2 things, the first is not to store assets in exchange, and the second is to do an analysis of altcoin before you invest, that alone is enough

I agree completely with you. Never keep funds on exchange. Binance got dealt with and other smaller exchanges before it. For those who lost during those hacks, they may not have recovered fully. No matter what the promise is, your wallet is still the safest.

Apart from. Doing analysis of coins to invest in, I will advise you get a good wallet and store your private keys offline. Anything apart from that makes you prone to hacks and theft.

Don't be caught in between. No one wants to loose to hackers.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How the wallet is hacked, what should I do? on: August 01, 2020, 07:35:22 PM

A lot of things could result into wallet being hacked. for a wallet hacked, there's little or nothing you can do. It's usually better to prevent a hack than to find a way to get it back. for a new wallet, ensure you use a very strong password and if possible use a 2 factor authenticator.

never keep your private keys online or share it. be conscious of downloading suspicious content. avoid doing fake giveaways and don't give your details out. I once had an experience with this and since then, I've been careful about my wallet details. Heard coinomi wallet is one of the strongest out there as it has its own keypad.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 01, 2020, 07:19:53 PM
That kid must be extraordinary intelligent. i agree completely that Bitcoins will get more publicity from the news about the hack. Again, it also shows the vulnerability of these platforms and the fact that they can be hacked at any time.

the onus is on crypto traders and investors to guide their wallet details to avoid being hacked. No matter the security of this websites, hackers are always on the lookout for flaws and loose-ends. According to federal agents, Sheppard was found out partly because he used a personal driver’s license to verify himself with the Binance and Coinbase cryptocurrency exchanges, and his accounts were found to have sent and received some of the scammed bitcoin.  the bolded were exactly what gave him away.

whichever way, lets be carefull with our online accounts

Well, we got one thing out of this. Every person who reads the news has now heard about bitcoin (possibly in a skewed way), although I suspect most of them still don't understand what it is.

That would help the spread, as there are people who will be curious and begin to seek for more information about this industry, sometimes even
there are things that not good there's still implications that it will help the process. Those hackers did illegal things but brought interest to whoever read that  news.

It will also gives warnings to people who are using social medias, the chance of being hacked is not by far if this young boys able to do it for sure there are more attack to expect.

Better securities for those well known social media site will be expected though, after this hacking thing adjustment should be done  to protect
all those users who are using  their service.

Maybe the first you submit need to be approved first before you can submit another application.

Is the bounty ending today or 31st July

I hope owner will answer this question because the campaign only have 4days left which is not enough to complete all week.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do hackers steal huge amounts of bitcoins? on: July 27, 2020, 10:45:49 AM
You seem one sided with your analysis, you obviously dont how extreme people go with  crime. Do you know that people rob stores were they are obvious CCTV cameras? So these things happen out of impulse, and greed.

Greed push a harker to steal Bitcoin, and if he succed , the same greed will push him to take it all. Imagine wasting time and resources to hack only to cart away with just a few token.

I am not sure if a harker identity is exposed if he steals huge token, we all know Bitcoin is decentralized and anonymous, so the hackers identity is completely safe.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your experience trading cryptocurrency? on: July 27, 2020, 07:54:43 AM
I have had the good, the bad and the ugly experiences in my 5 years of trading crypto. I have traded of different platforms, and on each of these platforms i have different stories to tell.

Lets start from the good, i remember earning 5 thousand dollars in a single night , i couldn't express my joy that night, you would think i had won millions of dollars, that night i was on a winning steak.

To the bad, i lost 1 thousand dollars in a single trade, i was a new trader then and I didn't know the tips of trading. For the ugly, I made a revenge trade and lost more money.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on Bitcoins: Unreasonable or essential? on: July 26, 2020, 08:18:04 PM

I remember when you could invest in cryptocurrency and make money without worrying about giving part of your earnings to government.

I am not trying to say paying tax is bad, in fact i pay my tax regularly for close to a decade now, but when it comes to taxing Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency,

I am not fully in support, because Bitcoin is first a currency before it is an investment, how will it sound if you are taxing someone for spending dollars? That's exactly how it seems taxing Bitcoin.

Just like you said, it is debatable, but if you put Bitcoin's primary objective of Bitcoin (which is to serve as alternative currency), then Bitcoin should not be taxed.
