1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Value for LIFE on: October 11, 2017, 04:03:59 AM
One thing I didn't understand in life was that I had $100,000,000 in the bank and I couldn't buy happiness. I had everything: mansions, yachts, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, but I was depressed. I didn't know where I fitted in. But then I found family and friends and I learned the value of life.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkey will join civil war in Syria on: October 11, 2017, 03:58:13 AM
Turkey and Russia have been on opposite sides of the conflict, with Turkey arming fighters opposed to Russia’s ally Assad. Last November, Turkey shot down a Russian military jet it said had violated its airspace, prompting a rupture in relations. Following an attempted coup against him over the summer, though, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid his first post-coup visit to Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and began to mend the rift. Last week, Turkey and Russia brokered a deal with Syrian rebels, and without the United States, to evacuate civilians from Aleppo; the foreign and defense ministers from Russia, Turkey, and Iran are still scheduled to meet in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss the situation.
3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Women empowerment? on: October 11, 2017, 03:50:47 AM
Empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.

The private sector is a key partner in efforts to advance gender equality and empower women. Current research demonstrating that gender diversity helps businesses perform better signals that self-interest and common interest can come together. Yet, ensuring the inclusion of women’s talents, skills and energies—from executive offices to the factory floor and the supply chain—requires intentional actions and deliberate policies.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate christians? on: October 11, 2017, 12:57:25 AM
Christians have a bad reputation for being unkind, intolerant, harsh, judgmental, and self-righteous. Oh, and uneducated.
Now of course, anytime you speak about, or live, moral absolutes, you’ll get attacked by people who don’t want to be told — either by your words or example — that what they’re doing is wrong. Jesus Himself didn’t make a lot of friends on this planet.

6  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of Positive approach in Life??? on: October 11, 2017, 12:10:49 AM
It is very easy to go down the slippery slope of focusing on the negative and dwelling on the bad things that have happened, and/or the worst case scenarios which only drains us of our energy to be effective, be engaged, be happy and able to get things done. I would like to suggest we take the alternate path and develop the ability to look at the up side of life and maintain a positive attitude even in the worst of times which can make the ultimate difference in leading a happy life as well as a successful career.
7  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the common cause of poverty? on: October 11, 2017, 12:02:17 AM
Whatever the causes of war and political upheaval, it is clear that safety, stability and security are essential for subsistence and, beyond that, economic prosperity and growth. Without these basics, natural resources cannot be harnessed individually or collectively, and no amount of education, talent or technological know-how will allow people to work and reap the benefits of their labor. Laws are needed to protect rights, property and investments, and without legal protections, farmers, would-be entrepreneurs and business owners cannot safely invest in a country’s economy. It is a telling sign that the poorest countries in the world have all experienced civil war and serious political upheaval at some point in the 20th century, and many of them have weak governments that cannot or do not protect people against violence.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: September 27, 2017, 12:16:36 AM
The liver is an organ which helps break down and remove harmful substances from your body, including alcohol. Long-term alcohol use interferes with this process. It also increases your risk for chronic liver inflammation and liver disease. The scarring caused by this inflammation is known as cirrhosis. The formation of scar tissue destroys the liver. As the liver becomes increasingly damaged, it has a harder time removing toxic substances from your body.

11  Other / Off-topic / Have you ever had the feeling that someone is controlling your life? on: September 26, 2017, 11:35:09 PM
We learn from our past, they say. I've been through an abusive relationship. That often blurs the lines that define my space even today.

To know this helps me not to repeat my past mistakes but the lesson has come with a price.

I have anxiety almost everyday during conversations with friends when simple questions like “where are you right now?”, “did you end up meeting that old friend on the weekend?” end up worrying me.
12  Other / Politics & Society / What was your biggest reality check when you became a parent? on: September 26, 2017, 09:18:56 PM
This will sound lame, but I remember it being a big “reality check” for me when I first became a parent:

The fun, fatherly kind of stuff I wanted to do with my kids… it was still years away.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Anti Virus Now on: September 26, 2017, 08:55:40 PM
Bitdefender has a fine technical reputation, too. The 2018 version delivers the usual top drawer protection in a simple, no-fuss style, and carries plenty of genuinely useful features. It should be near the top of any family antivirus shopping list.
14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul on Why Politicians Lie on: September 26, 2017, 04:31:15 AM
All of them lie by omission by keeping their mouths shut about the true issues, the Fed, theft of freedom of speech by TV, mercury in vaccines, lawyers in our government, fluoride in our water and chemtrails.  None of our elected criminals will address these issues.
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people kill for religion? on: September 26, 2017, 03:40:27 AM
religion is just about money and power and death
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Health and Religion on: September 26, 2017, 03:33:51 AM
Religion affects the way in which people present symptoms to the doctor and the types of treatment they will accept. Because some religions place restrictions on certain behaviours, religious beliefs may also influence a person's risk of illness in the first place. Spirituality also appears to confer health benefits, either though intrapsychic feelings of meaning and purpose
17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 102 Hindus butchered by Rohingya terrorists in Rakhine on: September 26, 2017, 03:25:53 AM
“The Rohingya militants have problems with the Myanmar Army as well as the common men who inhabit the Rakhine state. They are torturing and evicting Hindu Rohingyas from the land. Hindu families are brutally butchered and shot,” a Bangladeshi aid worker stated.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you agree in death penalty? on: September 26, 2017, 03:18:38 AM
Forgive and forget Everyone deserves a second chance. As long as they are willing to change, they should be allowed a second chance. It is only fair and killing them wont change anything. It is just one more life taken away. Isn't that just redoing what the murderer did? "A life for a life". So those who hung the convict should die too. Think about it.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe the news ? on: September 26, 2017, 03:08:05 AM
The news has always been spin since the beginning of time, and in today's world it's about money, coverups and keeping the populace at bay.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NFL Players Kneeling for the National Anthem? on: September 26, 2017, 02:39:59 AM
NFL players across the league on Sunday registered their outrage at President Donald Trump’s harsh comments suggesting the league fire players who opt against standing for the National Anthem as a means of protesting police brutality and racial inequality.
