1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: November 11, 2017, 10:44:33 PM
Over the past three days I've tried contacting Cryptopia support via their web form a few times, Twitter a couple times, and a Facebook "direct message" once...maybe this will work.

For some reason, I now have to authorize my log in attempts via email. Problem is, by the time the email arrives (sometimes 12 hours later), the verification code doesn't work.

I thought that maybe this was just an issue with AOL email addresses, but apparently it isn't. (Out of curiosity, I opened a new Cryptopia account with a different email. I received the initial "account-creation" email, but not the email that's required to log in.)

Bottom line: I can't access my account or the funds that are in it. Three days is a long time to wait for a reply. Who can I contact to regain access to my account / funds?

Hello, Can Anyone Answer This..

Heard about the swap

I have EQT in cryptopia since around 1 month.

What Do I need to do?

Any coins purchased at Cryptopia (or any other exchange) after August 26th 2017 are fine.
Any coins that were purchased prior to August 26th 2017 that were held at Coinexchange.io on August 26th 2017 are fine. (They were automatically swapped.)

A manual swap is only necessary if 1) You purchased EQT prior to August 26th 2017, and 2) those coins were not held at CoinExchange.io on August 26th 2017.

what swap are you talking about?

If you purchased EQT prior to August 26th 2017, and if those coins were not held at CoinExchange.io on August 26th 2017, then you must manually swap your old EQT for new EQT.

We really need an update of the Thread with the current wallets...

New / current wallet is listed in the original post on page 1.

I think Im starting to get worried. ive received no reply from dev, not any support that is helpful from my coins left in cryptopia.. what can i do?

Dev, do you have any updates for the people who are waiting to swap their coins? Do you need help fielding the requests? If you need help, I (and I'm sure some others here) would be willing to give you a hand. It's important to take care of the early investors in this project.

Dev, maybe you should hire somebody that you trust to handle the remaining coin swaps. I'm guessing there will continue to be people for months (if not years) who show up with old coins. At the very least, there should be some clear instructions somewhere that explain what the old-coin holders should do. (If you need help writing up instructions, let me know.)

Thanks for the updates, Dev. (And thanks for adding the new wallet link to the announcement post...hopefully that will prevent EQT "newbies" from starting off on the wrong foot.)

I think the poster is referring to editing the first post and changing the link to the download for the wallet.

Dev, can you answer this issue? If you don't want to remove the old wallet link for some reason, at least add something like this:

Original Wallet (old algorithm, Do Not Use): https://github.com/equitrader/Equitrader/blob/master/equitrader-qt-windows.zip

New Wallet (new algorithm, Use This): https://github.com/equitrader/Equitrade/blob/master/equitrader-win.zip

Maybe close this thread, eliminating from title the ticker and start a new one linking to this and including all the info since algo change, pools, algo, wallet, exchanges, how to swap the coins and so on, could be a good idea too.
Salute

Regarding the coin swap, something short like this would probably do the trick. (Dev, feel free to use / edit / correct as needed.)

EQT switched to a new algorithm on August 26th 2017. If you purchased EQT before August 26th 2017, then you might need to:

1)   Manually swap your old EQT coins for new EQT coins
2)   Download and begin using the new EQT wallet

What should you do?

If your EQT coins were held at CoinExchange.io on August 26th 2017, then your old coins have already been automatically swapped for the new coins.  Simply download and install the new EQT wallet from https://github.com/equitrader/Equitrade/blob/master/equitrader-win.zip and you’ll be able to store, send, and stake your new EQT.

If you purchased EQT from CoinExchange.io (or any other exchanges) after August 26th 2017, then you have purchased the new EQT coins. Simply download and install the new EQT wallet from https://github.com/equitrader/Equitrade/blob/master/equitrader-win.zip and you’ll be able to store, send, and stake your new EQT.

If you purchased EQT prior to August 26th 2017, and if your coins were not held at CoinExchange.io on August 26th 2017, then you must manually swap your old EQT for new EQT. Please follow these instructions [Dev, enter instructions here].

The Thread should be updated with the new Wallet:  https://github.com/equitrader/Equitrade
It confuses new investors.

Agree 100 percent. It makes no sense to continue sending people to the old wallet. (It just wastes time and causes unnecessary frustration for those looking to support / invest in this project.)

OK, my wallet appears to be staking now. Maybe it just needed more time?? (It's been about 38 hours since I sent the coins to my wallet. I'm running the original .conf file.)

I have same problem with you, so you dont have to do edit the .conf file, just leave it more time and it will auto staking?

Correct. I am currently using the original /unedited .conf file and the wallet is staking. (I had tried the edited .conf for a bit, but changed it back to the original .conf when I didn't see a change in the mining icon.)

How did you unlock the wallet for staking? Is there anything else that you did to ensure that the wallet would start staking?

I just went to settings-->Wallet security-->Unlock wallet for mining. At one point, I tried adding nodes to the .conf file but it didn't seem to help so I went back to the original .conf after an hour or so. (I'm guessing it was about 4 hours later that it started staking.)

I was also having a problem with staking.  Try adding the following to your EquiTrader.conf file....[snip]

I now have at least one input for staking.  Hope this helps!

Thanks, for the info on the max staking period, Skammie.

Regarding the nodes for my .conf file, I tried adding them but it still said "no suitable inputs were found" when I moused over the mining icon. Tried the original .conf file again; same issue.

ohforf, any idea what's going on with the staking?

When I mouse over the mining icon in the new wallet, it says "no suitable inputs were found." I've unlocked the wallet for mining...any idea what that message means or how to fix it?

Also, when I click on the "minting" tab and choose a date range, the number of expected coins goes down when I increase the number of days. (In other words, it predicts I'll earn more coins in 30 days than I'd earn in 60 days; more coins in 60 days than I'd earn in 90 days.) Any thoughts on that?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★EquiTrader★EQT★🔹POW🔹Monetizing Market Analysis On The Blockchain 📈 on: August 09, 2017, 04:33:01 AM
Let's say you've got 10,000 EQT and you miss the 10-day "swap" window. Does that mean you're out 6,000 dollars (at the current price of 60 cents per EQT)?

If so, there definitely needs to be a much longer window than 10 days. People invest in projects like this with the idea of "holding" long term; they're not constantly checking the price or threads like this (they're expecting months or maybe even a year or more to pass before the project really takes off). It's insane to think they'd just lose all their money because they didn't hear about a "swap" that happened over a 10-day period.

On that note: Isn't there some way to eliminate the "window?" If Bitcoin Cash automatically went to everyone who owned Bitcoin, isn't there a way to accomplish something similar with the new EQT token?

Quick question: I've got a "backed up" VIA wallet.dat file that's getting "stuck" when updating in core. Is there another program I can plug the .dat file into (to access the balance)?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XCH] ★ ClearingHouse ★ Initialization Stage ★ on: August 12, 2014, 12:45:06 PM

What address did you send the XCH to? PM me, then you can post your results.

OK, just sent you the address via PM...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XCH] ★ ClearingHouse ★ Initialization Stage ★ on: August 12, 2014, 12:30:44 PM
ClearingHouse records transactional information using the viacoin blockchain. To send XCH from Alice to Bob means sending a small amount of Viacoin to addresses. Those transactions have the metadata in them. This means ClearingHouse can then go back over the blockchain and extract the data from the blockchain.

Does that make sense? When you send XCH the XCH control moves from your address to the destination address. No XCH is reduced, you only pay a tiny *viacoin* fee for making the transaction (just as you would for a normal viacoin transaction).

Are you saying that I can convert the 500 XCH that is now represented as .0012 VIAcoin in my wallet back into 500 XCH (minus the small VIA fee) by sending it from my VIAcoin wallet back to ClearWallet?

If this is correct, is there any special procedure? (Or would I just send .0012 VIAcoin to my ClearWallet address?)

What i am saying is it was never converted. You sent XCH, what you are seeing, this 0.0012 is just the fee. XCH does not show up on the viacoin block explorer since it is not Via.

You say that "no XCH is reduced" and that it "wasn't converted." That implies to me that I sent 500 XCH and (because it wasn't reduced or converted) that 500 XCH still exists somewhere. Since it is not visible in my ClearWallet wallet, or in my VIA wallet, how do I retrieve it?

I am sincerely trying to understand what happened when I "sent" the 500 XCH. Normally, when you "send" something, it arrives somewhere; somebody gains access to what was sent.
