1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~The Game Currency ~ Merchant App ~5% Monthly PoS ~ Live Games on: August 29, 2014, 02:43:50 PM
Unfortunately chunky pools has not replied to my concerns regarding the HYPER multipool Sad

I have edited the OP and will add in the details for a new HYPER multipool when it is operational.

There is a bounty of 5000 HYPER for the first new HYPER multipool to become operational!

I have just finished going through my backlog of messages here (and paying some people extra in bounties due to delays) and I am now going over to the HYPER forums to catch up on all the messages and giveaways there!

Yes I took a royal fucking on this deal.  Lost weeks worth of mining to the tune of about 2000 HYPER.  Please pick a better multipool partner going forward.  More than one would be ideal.  If this project has legs it should not be difficult to do.

Sorry to hear you lost out from the multipool.

We are definitely looking into other options for a HYPER multipool.

Just sent you a PM.

Yep just responded.  Dev is a straight up good guy.  Going to see how I can help stir up a pool or two.  Thanks for your assistance.

Any big pool with NAUT?
Thanks

bitember

Anybody know of any pool bigger?  There are only 8 to 10 miners there at any given time.  This coins shows a lot of hash but I'll be damned if I can find it.

IPOMiner has a direct port for NAUT.

Only 1 miner there.  Huh  Where is all the hash?

Yes, anything new on this?  ChunkyPools still has a bunch of my coins now going on 2 weeks.  They are accepting hash but payouts are locked.  This should not be the HYPER official multipool if there is no way to get HYPER from it.  I want to mine this coin but ChunkyPools is the suckage.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~The Game Currency ~5% Monthly Interest Paid Daily ~ Games Are Live on: August 14, 2014, 12:12:44 AM

Anybody know what's up with the multi-pool?  Hasn't made a pay out in 9 days and payouts are locked at the moment.

edit: spelling

I will follow this up now as this is very urgent.

Thank you.  I quit mining Hyper as I had a lot of coins still unexchanged.  Of course the unexchanged coins' value crashed down to almost nothing and are basically worthless now so not expecting much from over week of mining at a decent hash rate.  Hopefully you can get it resolved as I want to continue mining Hyper.

Mintpal/Vericoin

Since I don't have all the information I cannot respond fully to the situation.  I am reading all I can about what occurred - if anyone has information that I should read please let me know.  Rest assured, if it is possible to protect against an attack we will do everything we can to prevent it.

It seems to me that the exchanges are the weak link of the digital currency world. In reality they are no different than the money center banks that operate in the centralized financial system we currently use -TO BE CLEAR WE NEED EXCHANGES.  Bitcoin/altcoins remove a good portion of the middlemen from financial services but  as long as exchanges represent a single point of weakness they will continue to be hacked. As of now they represent the only entry and exit into the digital currency ecosystem.

FWIW, I have the NSF in several wallets, most of which are offline most of the time.

My suggestion is to keep as few coins at exchanges as possible - we need a place for buyers and sellers to meet, therefore exchanges are in integral part of the digital currency ecosystem. At this point in time, without the exchanges the digital currency ecosystem will fail.

This breach highlights why I do not want to be the biggest miner on the NAUT network, since I represent a single point of failure.

To reduce the single points of failure I will make it part of the NAUT 'manifesto' to be the coin that continually strives to be decentralized.  Anything we can implement to decentralize operations will be considered.

On a related note: the current scams that are occurring should put everyone on notice that the blockchain solves a lot of problems, but cannot do away with human greed.

In the words of Sgt Esterhaus of Hill Street Blues - 'Let's be careful out there'

-BK

The bigger problem in all this is the "rollback", or the ability to do so.  Crypto has a real world trust issue and this makes it 100 times worse.  If I am a merchant there is no way in hell now that I would accept digital currency as now I have no idea if I get to keep my money. If the ledger can be rolled back on a whim then decentralized currencies are dead.

M/C and Visa have this issue to an extent but they cannot roll back an entire public ledger for as far back as they want to go.  Also, they are already entrenched where crypto is just getting a foothold.

Fungibility is extremely important.  Trust is extremely important.  Confidence is extremely important.  This is not a Vericoin problem.  This is a digital currency problem.  This affects the entire cryptosphere. This is now our problem.

I am converting all my holdings to BTC and hoping that it will weather the storm.  If it begins to take a hit back to fiat I go.  It sucks but the bed has been made now.  Not being chicken little here, just being objective and safe with my investments.

I sent one of my rigs to ipominer also.  Noticed a little bump in the price so I thought I would help out.

s there some diff or something for first blocks? I see the rewards are really small for now, is that gonna change or is it normal? I thought PoW rewards were going to be bigger(some thousand coins for 4-5 Mh rate for example)

Are you a NOOB?  There's no virus on these wallets, you can see that the virus thinks Bitcoin program is a virus.  Just TURN IT OFF!!!

UPDATE: OOps, I do see you are a newbie, sorry.  No harm intended.

I'm looking there now.. 3% fees.. seems a lil steep, and roughly, abt %40 or so of the total net hash.. No idea why any one would use a 3% fee pool, when you can pay 2% @ dedicated, or even 0% @ http://naut.0feepool.com/ , unless you want coins 'asap' to dump.. I want naut to hold... so.. may not be a good idea for me to mine there. Thnks for the 411 tho.

Naut.0feepool.com has not found a block in 18 hours and hash rate there is dropping.  People are leaving.  Nobody is mining at any of the other pools listed on the OP or on the website (some aren't even operational) so none of them are finding blocks either.  Dedicated has one miner.  3% of 300 coins a day is much better than 0% of 0 coins.

Been mining at ipominer for less than an hour and have 10 confirmed coins already.  You know how many I got from naut.0feepool.com overnight last night?  None.  I ain't the smartest guy in the world but the math ain't real hard on this one.

Its a smaller pool ( 0fee ), but they just broke the block, and if you were there now.. you would be raking it in.. its all in the luck of the blocks I suppose, Im in no rush to get my naut, I dont want to dump them.

I doubt many are mining NAUT to dump currently.  Not very profitable short term.  Most current miners have to be long term speculators.

They pay in BTC not naut, so they profit on the price rises.. not you. ( im pretty sure thts how that works anyways )

This is incorrect.  Have you even been to this site?

I am able to enter my NAUT address as the payout address.  There is nowhere to enter a BTC address for BTC payout.  I am building up a NAUT balance currently that I can cash out if I wish.  My old pool couldn't find a block so there is no sense in staying, particularly if there is no concern about forking the coin.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: May 30, 2014, 02:35:52 PM

Where the heck is all the hash on NAUT? The largest pool I can find is 70mhs but the network is reporting 2400 mhs??  My pool hasn't found a block in 15 hours.

Its one of the multi-pools.. not sure which one

If that's the case it's gotta be way over 51% of the total hash??  Like 80% or 90%?  Is this right?  Why is no one talking about this?

Because if it was an attack, it would be evident with forks already, thats not the case.

Well, I guess if nobody is worried about a fork I'm off to go mine on the multipool too!

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: V3: Cryptsy - Mintpal - Bittrex: Trading spreadsheet on: April 18, 2014, 12:06:27 AM
The spreadsheet looks great and I appreciate all the development work you are putting into it, but is there a workaround for the requirement of installing power query as you cannot install it on the home version of excel?

I spent over £100 buying the cheapest version of the latest office, only to find out I cant use spreadsheet  Sad

I'm certainly no programmer, so there may be no other option than to obtain a copy of excel professional, but I just wonder if there's any thing you can do?

C

I have this exact same issue.  I signed up for Office 365 only to find out Power Query doesn't work with it and I have to get Office 2010 or 2013 Professional Plus.  Is there a workaround for this before I have to shell out $150 or so?

You have to wait for the trading program, I guess. It will offer everything this spreadsheet offers and much more.

Don't worry Smiley

I'll update OP with this information.

You can also get a refund if I made enough sales with the actual trading program.

Haha no way do I want a refund.  This thing looks awesome.  I can wait for the program.  Thanks!
