Token of Gratitude - community fundraiser with a charitable twist
This is my take on using a small scale ICO for (hopefully) common good and utilizing a smart contract to prove an intention.
Please read the medium posts that follow the line of thought while creating the contract
TL;DR
- ERC20 token for a small cap community fundraiser
- If not raised enough or raised too much, the ETH goes to Doctors without borders (automatically)
- only 500 tokens redeemable for a beer, devhub entry, conference discount
YES, the funds will be send directly from the contract to an actual Ethereum address of Doctors without borders if the rules are fulfilled.
MSF have an ETH address, so even if you don't like ToG, but you want to support MSF, you can find their address here: www.lekari-bez-hranic.cz/en/bank-details#cryptocurrencies
Checkout the contract on Etherscan.
What is the fundraiser for?
Short: Community developer hub, academic conference and charity.
There are three goals of this fundraiser:
- 1st goal: 10000$ => To start and run a blockchain developer hub in Prague for a year at least
- 2nd goal: 25000$ => To organize an academic conference for blockchain related papers in 2018
- Charity goal => Whatever is raised above or bellow the goals will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without borders
What will you get as a backer?
- my gratitude!
- a drink
- free hub entry for 1 year (if 1st goal 1 is reached)
- entry discount for the 2018 conference (if 2nd goal is reached)
- great feeling forever after
hint: the tokens are ERC20 compliant so they are transferable
