1  Economy / Goods / T-Shirt - "I bought your GPU" on: January 22, 2018, 07:11:59 PM
With all the youtube gaming community hating on GPU miners for buying up GPUs, we over at sonofatech decided to make a t-shirt to try and lighten the mood around the whole issue just a little bit.

How many BTCz you get from mining per day? for what hash?and which pool?(in average)
As I see the calc is not accurate

Rami,

On our sonofatech pool, http://equihash.sonofatech.com, we are mining between 1,500 - 2000 BTCZ per day on about 2.4 - 3.0 Ksol/s. Our pool also runs at a 0% Fee.  We got similar results over at pcmining.xyz's BTCZpool.

Over at btczpool.com we were mining about 600-1,100 BTCZ per day.

Okay, I've been mining to the VTC pool at multipool.sonofatech.com for 45 hours with very few rejected shares (99.8% acceptance) and my earnings are finally approaching the predicted amount. It's still underestimated, but now the difference is between 0.26 reported vs. 0.34 predicted, rather than 0.003 reported vs. 0.17 predicted... I suspect the long time to find a block at SOAT - around 12 to 16 hours - is partially to blame for the under-reported earnings, and if so, then the estimation should improve the longer I mine there. As a result, I am going to give it another day at least, even though I was planning on switching the mighty GTX 1050 Ti over to mining ZEN this morning.

The situation at give-me-coins.com is even worse: the time between blocks is estimated at 105 hours!?! So while I no longer think there are shenanigans going on at GMC, I also don't want to waste time mining there; 12-16 hours between blocks is already trying my patience as it is.

Hey Magic!

Thanks for trying out our Vert pool! We are fairly new with vert so we do have very few miners. The low miner count was also partially due to the halving, as we lost a lot of miners in that process for one reason or another. We were closer to 8-10 gigahash previously.

I will say, in the defense of ALL Vert pools, this coin has definitely been one of the most difficult to manage pool-wise as it requires a lot of attention/babysitting. Please feel free to reach out to us on our discord with anything you might have questions on! https://discord.gg/pcQJ75C

If there's anything we can do, we'd be glad to try. Smiley

Dp-unique, I meant it would be nice if the payout threshold was configurable by the user, instead of a fixed amount for all miners. Not a big deal though, I just don't like getting a ton of tiny payouts. I think 1sumo is a good minimum, 2 is also OK. At least for now; when the net hash rate goes up to 10 megahash, then 0.5sumo payout may be more appropriate. The goal I think is to have the average miner receive about one payout per day. These are just my opinion, but seems to be how most pools handle it. Hope that helps, good luck with your pool

Thanks for all the info/feedback again.

I will review this with the youtube owner, blindrun/Son of a Tech, to see if we can schedule a maintenance window to change minimum payout. Pool is kinda booming right now, so I'm hesitant to take it offline for any time.

Here's a thought for sumokoin pool operators, increase minimum payout threshold to 1 or 2 sumo. I see some pools will payout in amounts less than 1 sumo, this causes block chain bloat. Maybe when net hashrate is much higher it will make sense for smaller payouts, but for now it is just generating a large number of small tx, which will cause large database size.

I agree. SOAT pool pays out .1 SUMO, that's ridiculous, that's like a couple minutes of mining time for me.  I don't know how often they pay out but I don't need need 10 payouts a day.  Twice a day is more than enough.  It would be best if it were configurable but the pool software just doesn't support that.

Hey guys.

I am one of the admins for the SOAT Pools!

Thanks for mining there and for the criticism. We are fairly new in the pool game, so we are open to all feedback. The minimum payout actually is adjustable in the software, so if another operator has told you that is not the case, I'd be leery of them. Or were you referring to being able to allow the customization on the miner side?

On another note, do you guys have any suggestions as to what payouts would work better? Do we agree with 1 or 2 sumo as the minimum payout? I'd love to get this fixed for you guys as soon as I can. However, I'd like to get the ideas before I make the change, as it would require a small window for me to stop and restart the pool.

Thanks again for checking out the pool and all of the feedback!
