1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Multi-algo][MASTERNODE] Freecoin (FREE) on: October 01, 2017, 04:52:04 PM
Update:

As things progress it is appears that Freecoin will end up much more than a proof of concept coin.

So far I have been asked for a roadmap and coin specifics, where i can see both influence each other and also the financial dev requirements to get there as a single person dev.

I have now created a github account

https://github.com/Blockchainfive

And created two forks and two coin scenarios

Freecoin, which at present is going to be a fork of spreadcoin, as this appears worthy reference material for an in depth feature rich masternode hybrid X11.

Fivecoin, which at present is going to be a fork of cryptonote, as this appears as a coin I can get off the ground by myself with little help and little financial outlay, whilst also gaining much needed experience for Freecoin which we can all see is going to be expensive dev cost and a drawn out project because of rich featureset.

This will be the last mention of Fivecoin in this thread, other than to say it has been born out of realisation my first goal is to get a crypto up and running of any kind.

What I will do with Fivecoin is keep it off forum till it is mature for commercial release, not that it will ICO, but will be roadmapped, whitepapered, websited, twittered, created, tradeable, listed and airdropped off the initial future go live announcement.

Freecoin will carry on but without some extra financial backing it will be a bare clone coin, with an extended timeframe of completion.

Hi dev,

Personally, you should give us more detailed announcement about the coin:

1. Algorithm (Pow/ PoS or hybrid)
2. Premined or not.
3. Halving or not
4. Total supply (infinite or finite)
5. Roadmap.
6. Bounty, airdrop, etc.

If you can do that, miners and investors can pay their attention to your project.

Thanks.

First off:

1 man project until proper assistance is rendered so expect a 1 man effort.

Nothing is set in concrete till i lay down the dev funds so be ready for changes and backflips if needed.

1.X11 Pow/Pos hybrid is preferred as it supports miners and masternodes, roadmap can include multi algo
2.Need community feedback, if not premined will it help value and trust of coin?
3.If spreadcoin is forked then "smoothly halved every 4 years" with any changes the fork deems fit from there
4.Finite possibly micro finite in 100-1000 supply, if you think about it, people trade everyday in coin fractions so if it was small, and value goes up having a whole coin is only necessary for masternodes of which i propose 1 coin=1 masternode.
5.Still to compile, but think that getting coin/masternode running for voting may trump as this will influence roadmap based of node feature/code voting.
6.Bounty and airdrop assume commercial viability, don't we want a coin that is mature first or more buggy code that has a $500,000 market cap??

i think this could have a fair chance of survival but it would certainly have to stay with pretty strict lines of correctness

Thanks to community feedback,

I have had a chance to look at some different options to mint freecoin, of what has been offered to me spreadcoin resonates with me as it deals effectively with pool mining and puts and emphasis back on solo mining and is based on X11 of which other algos can be added on roadmap.

Funny enough i have already covered solo mining on my youtube channel.

So maybe just maybe a fork of spreadcoin makes sense so as not to get bogged down in the early stages of dev, and still have code that is on the right track?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Multi-algo][MASTERNODE] Freecoin (FREE) on: October 01, 2017, 09:29:01 AM
Free? how will it be distributed equally?

 Undecided

@Bsteck, please tell how you think it would be equal.

It's a fair question, first though that comes to mind is since its masternode is a coin survival mechanism, how can we ensure one person doesn't end up with too many masternodes?

I am not aware of any coins that cap masternode ownership but that is the real question as they are voting rights which affect everyday investors.

Don't always have answers, but always have ideas Smiley

A way to restrict masternodes would be to make the cost of the masternodes so high that its impossible to buy any more quickly? Then restrict the free masternodes to say only the first 100 people?

I would like to reserve my free node now please  Grin

The ideas keep coming. A free masternode is the name and the game, but i think the coins will be auto burned if the masternode doesn't vote frequently.

My aim of handing the freecoin over to the community is that they are active contributors at least to voting if nothing else.

In America how many people didn't vote? In Australia you don't vote you get fined. Both call themselves democracy.

So where is your Youtube Channel? How do we follow along with progress.

If you do get this created relatively soon, I am 100% on board with it. This sounds great!

If you go to youtube and type in blockchain five you are there.

New channel but since i am technical i can cover many topics of the blockchain, of course coin creation now being one of them.

I want to do alot more videos, but find my time is still taken heavily with technical masternode setups as i have a fair few node coins to look after.

When the node is not setup, it is not earning so you at least know what chews my time and fuels my desire for something better.

Looks interesting enough if it won't be premined.

Two different views from the generals here.

I think small amount of premine is ok, once again the only way to make it democratic is to get free coin/masternodes up and put each every question to vote.

Then even myself has to eat humble pie as to what the consensus is....

Also as soon as masternodes can propose/vote on code and automatically enact it, then this coin makes history and my job is done.

The concern i have is what i ask for is not easy to code, nor may happen fast enough, as it would have been done already me thinks Smiley

Heres a few suggestions:

- Start with a Roadmap
- Small Premine for Marketing and Bounties
- Short Proof of work
- Full POS and Masternode after POW is over.

The amount of crypto generals paying attention to this thread is noted and am honored Smiley

Roadmap makes sense as a starting block, I won't put timelines though unless we get a project manager and have rarely seen timeline milestones met, and therefore become a false expectation, but maps give a sense of direction for sure, a map I can action easily and quickly, I will version control the map so it can also be adjusted as the project grows or gets modified/voted on.

Pre mine, POW, and POS, mean the coin and masternodes are in effect and my question remains, better to use blockchain genesis (existing coin mint tech)
to get this coin up or code from scratch???

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Multi-algo][MASTERNODE] Freecoin (FREE) on: September 30, 2017, 06:18:37 PM
Nice! I am in love with masternodes! Will you be coding this coin yourself?

How many coins do you intend to have for each masternode, I mean what requirement will there be for each MN? do you also know what the maximum coin supply will be...?

Could we get a coin that is asic resistant and can only be mined with graphic cards? that would be nice because then I can also mine it with my own systems, not that I have many but still.

No. I can peer review code but not Dev by nature. Concept man by nature.

My question was posted above asking if better to get Dev from scratch or leverage off blockchain minting tech that is already available then dev/fork off that.

Time is also an asset in this project as i have spent the past three weeks pumping up the flat tires of other masternode coins and am over it.

I think this coin needs minting asap as then I can give free masternodes to those who want them, then we can put all these questions to vote through the masternode system.

I would like the supply to be variable and controlled by masternode vote. As some will say too little too much etc.

Also how we deal with ASIC is not to exclude, but to raise difficulty so they can only earn the same as GPU/CPU if you think that it costs maybe 3 grand for ASIC miner and to come close on GPU/CPU usually 30 grand of gear??? So then there is your first ratio 10:1 in attempting to balance the efforts of both camps.

Then after that is pool resistance as both use pools, and pools smash and pimp small coins fact, but we will deal with that!

I can say that projects without a physical asset backing the token tend towards a smaller total supply from experience.

The asset/value of Freecoin will be clean modern code, superior masternode controls etc..

how many coins don't even have that is amazing and they have a cool half milly cap no sweat.

Like Dre said getting the mansion is the easy part, keeping it is the hard part.

Likening this to crypto is ongoing survival, constant increasing value of a decent coin concept.

There should never be a time a masternode vote should not be able to choose coin variables...

Remembering that if this coin survives or get a full commercial fork it will be well worth it.

Dev mind to create a channel on Telegram? I'm interested to be part of the project , see whether I can contribute either on coding or marketing ,let me know bro

@jijikill

Telegram channel created

Thanks for the heads up.

Still needing more information about the project/the coin ANN, since the first post still not contain the necessary information to learn more/better about the project.

@Tomboi

I am still needing more feedback from the community also as what i think it not exclusive rather inclusive from this very forum.

So I am an ideas man that gets bogged down in details which means a good idea lost to the wind.

Please be specific which areas you would like more info?

I know this can be as easy or difficult as we make it.

It can be as easy as going the route of certain altcoins which appear out of nowhere and actually get a decent interest and market cap, but are pump or crap coins or very least consume way to much time of investors to get running (masternodes specifically)

Or as hard as blueprinting every aspect of a successful coin, which is why I need you to be specific about areas you feel are vague and will do best to share.

Please remember this only concept brainstorming at present, and already has exceeded my expectations feedback wise.

@Azzi

Would you say asking for access to existing code for this trumps development from scratch?

Inspiration is a fickle beast and can only be tamed by quick execution .

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Multi-algo][MASTERNODE] Freecoin (FREE) on: September 30, 2017, 04:46:39 PM
I am stoked at the amount of interest off the bat.

So then a question to the community.

How do we get a coin which is quite technical off the ground in the quickest way?

Blockchain is supposed to make such things easier and quicker so want to use the tech to help along the way.

Example is do we start code from scratch or generate from existing coin creator providers?

Do we start with one algo and then add others, or add as many algos before genesis?

I know of one that at least has some auto mining tech built in, but is this what come first?

Over to community.

@HappyCaptain you are correct and thanks this counts as my first piece of help.

Going solo on this project is last resort. Also announcing my intentions first helps me shoot straight.

Tired of debugging and troubleshooting other masternodes coins lack of clean coding.

This time can be put into a coin that will address other coins issues head on.

Even if my idea doesn't work, its better than slaving on another coin codes lack of....

With some free community help i think a free coin can be minted.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][Multi-algo][MASTERNODE] Freecoin (FREE) on: September 30, 2017, 04:12:51 PM
Hello Bitcoin Talk Community,

I wish to post my intention to create a new masternode coin called Freecoin (Free).

This has arisen from continual investment and continual let downs of investing in other masternode cryptos.

The value proposition of this coin is to focus on technically sound/evolved code and user friendly interaction.

The normal coin can hit exchanges at 0% value (free) upon genesis , and only the masternode coin to go ICO as the only method of acquisition.

Issues noticed (although some are being addressed by other coins):

*Code taking too long to mature or not enough coding resources available.

*Website representation of coin not always professional standard.

*Bad english ok. Bad Masternode/Wallet Technical issues not ok.

*Code that works as well on both windows and open source.

*No separation of a mastercoin vs a normal coin.

*No proven Anti-pump and dump technology.

*No Difficulty vs Inflation algorithm.

*No Self mining technology to sustain coin in case of pool abandonment.

*No coin genesis mining commitment for longterm coin economy.

*No Multi Algo mining to include all available hashers.

*No masternode coin control panel for variable coin attribute adjustment for coin survival adjustments.

*Individuals or groups launching coins without offering public or community involvement from genesis.

*Abandonment of coins that have over $100,000 investment by creator(s) (Will be rectified via control panel so masternode owners can vote and enact code changes)

*Potential sell of coin code feature set to larger coins or fork into a full commercial coin once proof of concept or value proposition established.

So there is the basic premise of Freecoin.

I post this as notice of my intentions, and the community will be welcome to participate via coding/masternode/marketing/feedback.

I will also post progression on my youtube channel.

Let me know your thoughts.

Blockchain Five.
