By the second half of next year Sia manages to deliver on their promise with the Obelisk ASIC miners for SiaCoin (SC) and Decred (DCR) they will significantly change the landscape for these two crypto coins. Now it is yet unclear how this will affect things regarding the use of the Sia file hosting services since it is more than just a crypto coin while Decred is more of a traditional crypto coin. The promise of securing the network better with ASICs is not new, the more important question here however is what if a limited number of people hold most of the ASIC’s power in a network… and then it becomes pointless to mine if you do not have access to an ASIC miner and/or cannot afford one.

Hardware wallets are one of the best ways to securely store cryptocurrency without losing basic functionality. Wallets like the Ledger Nano S or Trezor boast security that would allow the device to be plugged into virtually any system without risking compromising a user’s private keys or other sensitive information — which could result in stolen funds. Private keys are stored on the device itself, so it is not necessary to put your trust into the security of a personal computer. In the case of physical theft, a pin or another method of user-chosen security is often required to access the device. This slows down the thief while you grab your replacement hardware wallet, enter your seed, and transfer the money out of your restored wallet.

Telegram, a popular Russia-based encrypted texting startup, will integrate a blockchain system called “Telegram Open Network” (TON) into its messenger app and launch a new cryptocurrency called “Gram,”.


Marrying cryptocurrency transactions with the app’s encrypted communication features could be monumental, as the combination would give users access to a decentralized payment system with little oversight from governments or banks. That means that users could privately send and receive money, even in the form of micropayments, between countries without transfer fees. The Trading Fees
Bittrex are not notorious for super high fees, but still: 0.25% are 0.25% per transaction – and this can become significant over time.

Binance takes 0.1% which is a fivefold less than on Bittrex. It gets even better if you hold the BNB tokens in your account, as if you pay the fees with BNB instead of BTC you get a whopping 50% discount, making it 0.05% fees per transaction.

Binance vs Bittrex – A comparison
Let’s get the facts straight and compare these two exchanges one by one. Let’s do a battle by points.

Signup, Verification & Support
Signup is fast on both sites. However, the tiered verification is much more clear and easier to handle on Binance. Bittrex locked down my account, as I created one before, which I obviously forgot. I had my account on enhanced level, but they decided to lock it down, as my second older account (which totally forgot) was not verified at all – so they wanted me to verify this as well to reset the limitations. This can be tough nut, when the support answers only every third day and requests humiliating things like “take a photo of you, holding your ID with a paper that shows Bittrex written on it” – feels a bit like a fiverr job.  After 20 days the problem was solved by simply disabling the old account, but heck that support team didn’t make it easy.

Even 1 years seems to be long term! Short term investment is anywhere 1 year to 3 year. Period less then 1 year would come under Ultra Short Term. Investment horizon of more than 5 years should ideally fall under Long Term investments. Now a period between 3 to 5 years is combination of long term and short term and we would classify as Medium Term Investments.

I was able to use ED, got what little I had on it off and then used MEW to transfer to a new wallet. I'll be staying away from ED until it's clear that the DNS and security issues are handled and preventative measures are in place.

The vast panoply of people involved while it was "Big" (It is still big to me) were lost in the fact it even worked at all. They grew bored, just like they grew bored of the original Doge meme. Sometimes people get a firework mindset, while its exploding in the sky your breath gets taken away, then the after images fade and you're looking for the next one.

I think Dogecoin is a lot more than that initial explosion. It is just easy to get despondent remembering it. The spirit of it is worth keeping it going long into the future.
