The year will be the year of ICO, utility tokens that has use case that most people outside could relate to. But most big old time blockchian would continued exists i think .
Also, to note on new exchanges that created with ICO and with their own coins such as Binance, Cobinhood, coss, qash, or exchanges protocol providers like 0x and Kyber. They will be ready to takeover from the previous big players.

That is quite a lot of money, so it is probably best to put the majority in safe picks, such as ETH, NEO, Qtum. Then pick some established coins with room to grow (SUB, VEN, WTC, QSP, REQ, XBY..). And maybe also consider an ICO for excitement, but make sure to do your own research first. There are many ICOs so you have to do lots of research and reading. However the potential is high as you can acquire tokens at the lowest price. ICOs are a great way to maximize profits because you can get the coins early, at a low price. But it is very important to choose the right one as there are many. Some regulation would not harm - no bans but some audit before an ICO. Something similar to QSP. Before investing you need to do your own research and choose wisely. There are many websites that do ICO ratings, but you should take their ratings with a pinch of salt - it is always possible to "buy" a good rating. Surely you should spread the investment. Put most in the top coins (ETH, NEO, QTUM), maybe part in coins like SUB, ICX, VEN or WTC. You should do your own research, don't expect all the coins to grow like they are at the moment. ETH, NEO, OMG seem to be the safe picks, steadily rising. But we might see a shift back to bitcoin with all the alt coin gains - impossible to tell when.
