1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU mining 2017? on: October 08, 2017, 01:16:53 PM
I am curious if CPU is worth it myself a friend of mine and I are about to starting doing business together and he works for a company that is literally throwing away 2 Blade chassis with 30 CPUs each. I don't know the CPUs they are using but I do know these chassis were in a Citrix environment. We are considering putting these devices in a colocation (because I have some Asics I am putting there anyway) and thinking would it be worth it to mine with these CPUs? Just wanted to get others opinion.

You ever thought about contacting you power company and getting commercial rates? The reason I say this is because the residential rates for my power company Duke Electricity is about $0.13 kWh maybe a little more after
taxes and other fees. If I was a commercial customer with "Demand Rates" meaning I will use 24,000 kWh a year which is simple I believe that is 24 KW (a year not month) I would pay about $10 a KW plus a fee of plus a set fee of about $12 delivery fee. So if my math is right at $10 KW that is .0138 kWh plus the delivery fee of $12 this is much cheaper then my current residential rate and I live in what looks like a more expensive power rate area than you so you may have a better deal on a commercial rate.

How much did that solar project cost? I here it is pretty much like $3 a watt for residential Solar and $1 for commercial. I have family with a lot of land so it would be nice to put a lot of solar panels. If I could get mining to a point where I only can do that for a living I would research on building a solar farm to keep the cost of the build down.

I have Jax and Exodus but I don't have any money in either. I mainly got them for Dash but now Dash evolution came out so I installed that too. My issue is actually getting money in the wallets. Coinbase spoiled me but they cost to much. From my understanding I would need to purchase coin in an exchange (or mine it) to get the money in my wallet. However I don't know an exchange for Dash that I can easily transfer money in and out. Does anybody know a good one? Please don't say Polenix they maybe good but too damn difficult.

Does anybody know a good wallet for Dash? I see Dash evolution coming out soon but not sure if there is anything else. Also what is a good exchange to trade Dash in for Cash. I try Poloniex but they tell me to take a picture of my self while holding my ID drinking Cambodian breast milk while signing the song piss on you with R. Kelly molesting a teenager. Kind of hard to do with only two hands.
