6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Over Diversified on: January 25, 2018, 03:30:45 PM

Hi! Im actually holding a lot of alts. Im absolutely over diversified but i dont know what to sell.

I'm very scared to sell some of my coins and see a time later that the price skyrockets. I know that I have too many coins but I really do not know what to do.

Any advice or suggestion?

You weren't playing around by saying that you are over diversified. I hope that you don't keep those coins on an exchange because they can do whatever they want with that money.

I have cold wallets! Thanks again to everyone!

9  Economy / Exchanges / My experience with HitBTC on: December 15, 2017, 02:49:46 PM
3 weeks ago, I decided to buy 50 usd in SNC. I bought my ETH and made the transfer to HitBTC. After a few hours, I noticed that the transaction was already in the blockhain but I still did not have the money in my account so I decided to read the section Where is my deposit?

When I finished reading, I realized that HitBTC does not accept ETH deposits from contracts. Why do not they inform me before making my deposit? Why do i have to learn that when I lost my money and I have to go to the where is my deposit section?

I wrote a ticket to support and received an automatic response indicating that most of the problems were solved in a maximum of 48 hours or sooner.

The next answer arrived 3 days later and I was still without my ETH:

Dear Trader, Thank you for reaching out.
Please accept our apologies for such a delay in response.
It seems that you've felt ETH from the contract. But receiving money from contracts is not available on HitBTC, it is important to remember that.
We will proceed your transaction manually and contact you after that. Thank you for your patience.

I thought that finally the problem was going to be solved but it was not even close. The next day I received the following email:
Dear Trader,

The issue you reported requires additional investigation.
We have escalated the issue to our second-level support experts and flagged it as high priority.
We will keep you posted on the progress.

They where not supposed to simply do the transaction manually? I do not understand what experts are they talking about ...
After that, absolute silence for 15 days. Finally, after almost 3 weeks I finally received the email indicating that I had the ETH in my account. Again I thought the problem was close to ending.

When logged in the website, I decided to transfer my money from the main account to the trading account. When I clicked, I received a message saying "currency operations not available". I was another two days without being able to make my trade.
After that, I finally managed to make the transfer to the trading account and buy my SNC 3 weeks after the initial thought.
I made my purchase and when I was preparing to make the withdrawal, I was informed that SNC withdrawals are not available.

After a lot of suffering, I finally managed to withdraw my SNC and I do not intend to use HitBTC again not even by mistake.
In the end, I made my purchase, I received my money, etc. But I do not understand how an operation that usually takes 30 minutes, took more than 3 weeks.

The only positive thing: My ETH almost doubled in price in those 3 weeks.

I doubt that HitBTC is a scam but they have the worst costumer service or support, they cant solve problems in a decnt time, etc. I would recommend you stay away.

From facebook:

Dear community, we regret the delays caused, we have been forced to stop shipments due to technical problems with the contract that we are already solving (60% of transfers are pending).
We have had external problems with our Marketing staff in social networks that have made it impossible for us to connect with our community, then I will summarize what is coming for the project and our community:
1.- Our Web page is being updated with new content, updates and so on so that it appeals to new investors who wish to use our loan system.
2.- The Lending system will be modified according to the suggestions of our community. (Do not worry it will be more attractive, profitable and above all safe).
3.- The negotiations with several Exchange are already confirmed, mainly Coinexchange, according to our roadmap will be the first house of changes in in listing BRC.
5.- Exactly there were 824 investors with double factor problems that were already included in our list of pending send.
4.- At the end of sending BRC tokens (We will try to solve it as soon as possible) we will create the Tiker in Etherdelta, and what is currently only being managed by contract.
5.- After having BRC in the exchanges and appearing in Coinmarketcap, we will create an official Group open in Telegram to solve your doubts. (Currently there are unofficial BRC groups, we appreciate your support).
6.- From now on we will make inter-daily or daily updates as appropriate.
We know perfectly your feelings and we want to reiterate that your investments are safe, there are many projects that tend to take longer and our mistake was to entrust third parties to carry our social networks.
Our priority has always been the safety of both the project and the community, this is just beginning and we would like a little more patience.
We are working closely with the Post-ICO investors who are not giving the necessary support.
Sincerely, Team Binarycoin.

I made an ETH deposit on friday. After not receiving my money i sent a support ticket. After 3 days they answer this:

Marguerite Tessier (HitBTC) Nov 27, 21:36 WET

Dear Trader, Thank you for reaching out. Please accept our apologies for such a delay in response. It seems that you've sent ETH from the contract. But receiving money from contracts is not available on HitBTC, it is important to remember that. We will proceed your transaction manually and contact you after that. Thank you for your patience. Regards, Marguerite Tessier‍ HitBTC Support Team

Since then, no answer. I need my money!!! they dont answer support tickets, they dont fix problems... im starting to think that HitBTC is a scam.

Take a look at the amount of people having issues and no real answers:

Kinda new to this ETH wallet thing.

Can i use metamask?

Just put the metamask account address and metamask will identify itself as binarycoin?

Yes you can. With the contract address. I think its 0x7501a4f0b6fcf5ab8d682a57e668214edc3d3ea4 but i will wait for an official announcement.

Thank you very much everyone for the help and advice. Have been very useful for me and I have learned a lot of things that I did not know before.

I agree with all of you, I have too many alts but after thinking about it a lot, i have decided to keep them. As i told you, my plan es hodl long term.

My alts of 1% were my first purchases after BTC and ETH. I know I spent some money on commissions and transfer fees, but I was learning to use exchanges, wallets, to make transfers, getting to know the community, etc, etc. Nobody is born with the knowledge and I do not regret having spent a few dollars in the learning process. Also, I still have the coins that I bought and I could see an interesting return even if it is a very low amount. At this point, it would be more expensive to sell those alts than simply hold.

Im glad to have learned this way and not like in other cases where people lose large amounts of money. I still have my investment and im up in almost every coin. I know that maybe I would have maximized my profits by investing only in BTC or ETH from the beginning but i like the learning process that I've had so far and i cant complain about a profit close to 50% in a few months.

Additionally, my BTG and GAS got them for free  Grin

Following your advices, my next step will be to increase my amount of BTC and ETH. Not by selling my alts but by investing new money. After that, I plan to increase my position in a few alts that I currently have.

Thanks again to everyone. I appreciate it.

Good diversification to hold and forget, if you are trading frequently, probably too hard to track everything and use any strategy.
Thats my strategy  Grin im holding long term

Hi. I have been in the cryptoworld for a short time but I find it very interesting and I am creating my portfolio of coins. I have less than 500 USD (I know that for many it is very little) distributed in the following way. I would like to know what you think of my portfolio. Any criticism or suggestion is valid. My plan is to hodl long term.

Thank you!

No, you are using small capital and it doesn't work to invest in all of the kinds of altcoin that already mentioned in your picture.
Please you may need think for a twice. I give you an example about the power ledger and quantstamp. most of the early investors gets over 100% for QSP and then over 1000% for power ledger.
Invest in the new promising coin may better.

I agree and you are right but its also more risky.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of my portfolio? on: November 22, 2017, 09:34:10 PM
Way to many coins for that kind of investment.

Even if one of those coins goes 20x up, you won't even feel it since you have like 3% of your investment in it.

You should definitely lower the number of the coins in your portfolio to up to 5 coins you think might have the best chances (I would probably do up to 3 tbh), and then add more coins as you invest more money or as your portfolio grows (in value).

I know there are many. Those of 1% were my first investments and I was testing the exchanges, wallets, etc.

I do not necessarily agree with what you say about the 20x. If for example my 15 USD of PIVX grow 20x, I would have 300 dollars. I think they would feel pretty in my portfolio.

Nevertheless I know that you are right. I want to get rid of Ripple, BAT and maybe another 2 or 3. The problem is that I have not been able to decide which ones  Lips sealed

$300 on $500 investment is great, no argue there, but imagine 20x on $200?

You should not have problems deciding which ones to keep, you basically already decided. Everything that makes 5% or less of your portfolio obviously has to go out, if you believed in it you would have put more.

The other thing you need to sort out with yourself is how risk averse you are.

Do you want a safe portfolio with stable growth?  - Go BTC, ETH, NEO.
Do you want a riskier portfolio, but still a stable one? - Go one-two of above and one alt.
Do you wanna go YOLO? Go with 3 alts, the one that still have a good potential for growth and not such big mcap. If I was to choose from your portfolio, I would go LISK, LINK and Vertcoin.

That would be great. i just need to find more money to invest. Im only risking the money i can afford to loose.

You have a good point there  Cool

I would say im medium term. I dont want the safest portfolio ever but also not YOLO. I like the second option but maybe with some aditional alts.

Thanks for your advice!

Pivx making a 20x? it is impossible mate, you are so optimistic about the price.
And if you really think that it will be making a 20x, then why dont you try to get a huge amount of money and then try to invest that money in there?
Just think about it, 20x of $15 is just a little amount of money, 300 dollars are worth nothing, you can just try to get more money and then that 20x is going to make the whole difference.
And yes, try to sell some coins and invest more money in the strongest coins that you are investing now, having $500 in more than 5 altcoins is just a waste of time.

Pivx was just an example. I do not know if it will increase 20x but I think it has great growth potential. At least 10x. I just wanted to show the impact of a 20x in some low percentage altcoin.

Ill do that as well. I want to invest more money in my top 5.
