1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / How mining demand affects Bitcoin prices. on: October 27, 2013, 12:28:56 AM
It is often said there is no relation between mining and the value of Bitcoin.

I propose there is some overlap, due to the forces of miners themselves. Miners choose between investing in Bitcoin, or investing in mining. This unites the two in economics.

When Bitcoin:fiat is low, they buy Bitcoin. When Bitcoin:fiat is high, they buy into mining.

Hence, the difficulty of mining and the exchange rate of Bitcoin are somewhat related.

I make no claims about how strong this relationship is.

Thanks for hearing me out, what do you think?
2  Economy / Goods / [WTS] HTC Titan, AT&T, Windows Phone 7.5 on: July 19, 2013, 11:25:37 PM
https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/46419-htc-titan-new-condition-at-t-windows-phone-7-5

Defect: 7mm long, fine hair wide scratch near the center of the display. Only noticeable when gyrated under a point light source.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_TITAN

This phone was won at a contest over a year ago. It was never activated and used for a day. I hope this makes for a great replacement or backup, because I've never used it!

Once the Windows flagship phone! 16GB of storage, 4.7" S-LCD screen is bright and high resolution with a 198 dpi, almost like retina (220 dpi).

Ask for any other details or photos, please Smiley

Last hour on eBay!

Very nice that you are getting about $1100 for 7 when they cost only $80 each from btcguild.

I'm providing a service as a middleman, I guess. Not everyone is willing to navigate, test, pay bitcoins etc. for miners. eBay does go to the highest bidder, not the median!

Nine hours remaining, last bump :-)

Color me confused. Is this selling here or on ebay?
[...] and cancel my eBay auction at 13 hours remaining if this auction is more valuable.

Color me confused, selling here or on ebay?

At eBay, because it had the highest value at 13 hours remaining.

10  Economy / Auctions / Re: California in-hand BFL Jalapeno, same day free shipping via eBay! on: July 03, 2013, 10:38:38 PM

Is it really that much small? I thought it's big.
Ps: It's really "in hand" jalapeno lol

Two drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff! It's really a ~3 inches on a side. Runs cool, about 39C, which makes me want to overclock it if I were keeping it. My number crunching says that 7GH/s is worth an extra ~2.5 BTC total!
11  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auctioning 1 BFL Jalapeno 5+ GH/s on: July 03, 2013, 10:36:37 PM
I also have a Jalapeno for sale immediately, shipped same day from California. Great device, cranking out the coins! Runs 39C so I'm sure there is overclocking potential.

I predict an ROI of 120 BTC.

Wrong usage of ROI: I predict an income of 120 BTC.

You're currently the high bidder. I accept BTC as well.

This should be a pretty exciting auction, no minimum and no reserve. Mining was quite fun, and I'm glad to participate.
18  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] Auction for 2.35 GH/s at 17.5 W, 7x usb block eruptors on: June 29, 2013, 12:07:32 AM
I knocked your BIN by placing the first bid.  Those only stay when there's a reserve.

5.6BTC

What "BIN"?  I see no buy-it-now.  He says he has one, but he does not.
Am I blind?  Or am I being ignored by the OP who hasn't figured out how to set a BIN?

My buy it now price was cleared when the first bid was entered. You missed out!

If you'd like to play safe and pay the fees, then escrow is great, or bidding by eBay is escrow in itself. I've done good business with ninjaboon recently.

I do have a buy it now.
