Monthly rate down massively to 5.83 %, what gives??

Hello,

More info you can get just check our update: https://medium.com/minecoin-blog/mnx-market-behaviour-update-6a1e32014233

Ok thanks, just read that. I get it.

As a miner this will make me rethink my mining operations though, I suspect it might for other miners also as minexcoin is far from a profitable coin from a mining view point

(notice the emphasis on 'mining view point')

Update Re: Version 0.34

9 rigs (mostly nvidia, mix of 1080ti 1070ti 1060 3 gb RX 580 8 gb) all running on lolminer 0.34 for approx 24 hours
OS: Windows 10

Not a single issue that I have observed.

No app crashes (version 0.33 crashed on about 1/3 of the rigs every few hours in a somewhat random way)

No 0 sol/s issue

My Hash Rates
1080ti 24500 sols/s
1070ti 18200 sols/s
1060   10000 sols/s
RX580  9900 sols/s

mild overclock on all rigs, nvidia typically 90% power, +100 core, +200 mem (slight variances depending on the card)

Summary of Version 0.34

Hello, Lolliedieb.

I am trying v 0.34, but the screen got drowned when I started up.
Is this normal? The executable file is "run_miner.cmd".

Also, is it possible to adjust the load with v 0.4?

What do you mean 'drowned'?

Working through your pdf and I see the following, thanks a TON for including this feature!! I wish all miners did this.  Cheesy

--stats-digits <number>
This parameter adjusts the number of decimal digits that are printed in the statistics output. The minimum is
0, which corresponds to no digits beyond decimal delimiter printed. The default is one.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] lolMiner-mnx, Mining MinexCoin(MNX) New version: v0.33 (Mar 23) on: April 11, 2018, 01:24:49 PM
Finally its there: A new version of lolMiner ^^

More concretely: 0.34 is there

Similar as in the past I did not plan to do this version, but the changes I planned for 0.4 were too fundamental and so well – I wanted to have this intermediate version with its fixes done before.

Here are the download links:
[Lin 64] Click me (0.34, Linux) MD5 of package: 4b6a86481177fe4d09e4dcc71fe20828
[Win 64] Click me (0.34, Windows) MD5 of package: 27075cf216144bc4f47fc139b1fdb7e7

So, what is new:

Windows only: A new watchdog.
This version of lolMiner comes with a watchdog script written in power shell. Basically it detects when the miner is stuck / has 0 sol/s and so on and can restart it if required. You can start it by clicking run_miner.cmd while the old run script is also on board.

To configure the new watchdog you have to edit the watchdog-lolminer-v0.34.ps1 file. Especially you should give the name of your config file in the beginning.

The watchdog is able to reboot the rig after a certain number of miner restarts. To enable this feature you have to set $global:allowReboot=$true in the header of the watchdog on line 18. For the reboot feature to be effective you should place the watchdog in your auto-start.

Also you can allow it do do a screen shot on every crash by setting  $global:allowScreenshot=$true on line 19. The parameter in line 18 controls the number of restarts before the watchdog closes itself or reboots the rig.

In order to handle 0 sol/s cases the watchdog will require admin rights on your computer when it starts. This allows the watchdog to reset your GPU drivers before a new restart attempt. Because of this we made the watchdog open source so you can verify it does no harm to your system.

Fixed a bug in stratum code:
Before the miner got stuck when the first pool in list was not avaiable. This is fixed now. Also the miner no longer closes when the first pool reports an authorization of miner problem, but it now tests all failover pools in a row before exiting due to missing authorization

Changed behavior of –exit-on-zero
Well … did not find a better headline for this. The parameter –exit-on-zero does not exist any more / has no effect. Instead when the miner detects that a GPU did not come back from a mining task properly it will print an error message and close. The same is true when a device does not finish a task for more then 30 seconds.

New internal stratum behavior
The stratum code now monitors for shares not tested (if they are below target) or not submitted. When there was no single share tested for a minute or no share submitted for 10 minutes, the miner will stop working and close itself, so the restart scripts or the Windows watchdog can restart it.

New parameter: --continue-on-error
This is the counterpart to the above two described changes. If this parameter is set the miner will continue working even when an error occurred.
New parameter: --stats-digits <number>
This will set the number of digits printed in statistics messages. E.g. if you set it to 0 the decimal delimiter and everything behind will be cut of. The default is 1.

Slight changes in work management
The change is something I wanted to test for 0.4. Basically it now tries to do the transfer from and to the cards asynchronously. Especially on AMD cards this helps reducing the difference in speed between –work-batch HIGH and AUTO and lower values. Higher is still mining faster but the difference to lower values is now smaller

New parameter: --disable-double-buffer
This is the counterpart to the work management change. For some drivers (the open source Clover OpenCL drivers on Linux) this is required because not all drivers support the change.

New parameter: --disable-suprnova-for-fee
This parameter is meant to remove the suprnova pool from the list of fall-backs for the miners dev fee. Reason is that this pool is blocked in some countries and that the miner may get stuck on an ISP block of this pool.

lolMiner-mnx now got a license.txt file
Well that was required xD

lolMiner-mnx now displays proper AMD device names
Well its not yet perfect, but I think “Radeon RX 470/480; RX 570/580” is better then “Ellesmere” - but I may be wrong ^^

I hope you have fun with this release. I will now prepare the next steps. As said the planned changes to 0.4 are rather massive, therefore it may take some time.

---------------------
For the stats:
Overall hash rate of all lolMiners out there: 185 Msol/s
Market share: 84% Cheesy

This is AWESOME news!! I will be migrating my farm to this version today, starting with my most troublesome rigs. Thanks so much!   Cheesy

Any watchdog type of script that might help with this issue?

0.34 will come next week (hopefully) ... and with a new (real) watchdog script for Windows power shell that should do the job Smiley

This is excellent news as lolminer crashes on various rigs (its running on 9 rigs, mix of nvidia and amd) at random time and random rigs.

I can find no pattern or similiarity. All these rigs were rock solid for weeks on other mining programs (not a criticism, just providing information, I appreciate your program and efforts a lot)
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] lolMiner-mnx, Mining MinexCoin(MNX) New version: v0.33 (Mar 23) on: April 06, 2018, 11:12:14 PM
I watched it run for a full 5 minutes returning 0 hash each time. The program did not stop

Rig reboot is required to stop lolminer. Task manager will not stop it.

Hmm - that sounds extreme... Does it still mine when this happens?
I know that --exit-on-zero has some problems and does not close the miner always when it should, but anyways it can close the program gracefully only as long as the system itself is still responding. If even the task manager can not do it I am certain that there is no way for the program to exit any way. Searching for an idea why this extreme stuff hapens.

Yes it keeps mining, just one card showing 0 hash. Clicking the X to close the dos window didnt work. I had to power cycle the rig

Machine has since been running for about 9 hours with zero issues. I have not been watching it perhaps exit on zero has been working or it never went to zero.

Your efforts are appreciated  Smiley

UPDATE: While checking my rigs another one was frozen, the exit on zero did not work. However I simply clicked the windows 'program has stopped working' window and lolminer closed and restarted and worked fine. Rig had been down for abouty 7 hours. This rig was 6 x 1070ti, one of my oldest and most stable rigs (win10).

Any watchdog type of script that might help with this issue?

--exit-on-zero

Not working for me.

Device 0 routinely shows 0 hash rate

Rig reboot is required to stop lolminer. Task manager will not stop it.

suggestions?

I am running lolminer on 8 rigs. Generally works quite well.

However on one rig lolminer just freezes, usually after about an hour.

When I close the dos window it restarts instantly.

My question is: is there a watchdog script to watch for this freezing that would close it and restart it?

Is it as simple as putting a few lines in my batch file?

Yes, they are awesome for heating your house... if you are deaf and like to breathe formaldehyde Smiley

I live in Canada, it is -13 C today. Asics and gpu rigs in basement.

My furnace has not come on once this winter.

4000 sq foot stone house built in 1883, no insulation in walls.

Balloon frame design, drop a screwdriver inside the wall while doing work on the second floor and it will fall right to the basement.

Single pane glass windows.

House sits at a constant 62 F 24/7.

No, I do not have a wood stove. Forced air gas is all I have for heat (which I dont use any more.)

Electricity bill about $900 per month.

Anyone know how to get this working with Awesome miner? what is the API compatible with?

Similar to awesome miner, I am trying out this management software for my rigs

(not affiliated in any way with them, appears to be Russian as per install script lol)

I have asked them to add HSR to their list of supported miners

Definate speed increase over ccminer for my 1080 Ti, not so much for my 1070. Possibly need some tweaking I guess as I have not played with any of the hsrminer options such as -i

It seems to run for longer without crashing the GPU driver than ccminer but on the other hand it crashes the entire system sometimes, something ccminer has never done, obviously I cannot leave it unattended if it is going to do this

Overall seems a little more sensitive to OC settings. Looking forward to future developments, I like the speed increase Cheesy

My (so far) stable 1080ti settings using afterburner

+ 150 core clock
+ 600 memory
90 % power limit

My very stable 1070ti settings
+ 200 core
+ 500 memory
90 % power

Hey guys

What are the returns like on a rx580?

If this is any indication I threw 50 Mh/s at it for 4 hours and got 0.7 CBS

Your rx580 will do about 780 Kh/s, that is about .78 Mh/s.

You would have to mine for about a week to get 1 cbs, maybe longer

GPU#0 - MSI GTX 1060 3GB, Temp is 69C, Fans at 52%, Power consumption 128W

I think we need temp limit on hsrminer - neoscript

I see so big diffirence in power consumption. 124W - 144W
no oc - it is at stock settings.

GTX1060 3GB power needs is 120W.
Why your miner needs more power ?

actualy MSI GTX 1060 ( gaming X version ) is rated 120w tdp on specifications but comes 135w tdp stock out of the box in order to keep up stock oc auto boost , as competitor choice for GP-106 series chipset family , do not forget no aorus extreme or ftw3 available for such an entry level value card :p

My zotac 1060 minis
power 80%
core clock +80
memory clock +500

NOTE: overall speed is 3427.92kH/s
that is 684 kH/s per card, I am quite happy with this given the low power draw of 90 watts or so  Cool

temps are a bit on the high side but the fans (on auto) spin up to deal with this

UPDATE
Quick and dirty test, increased the power to 100% (from 80%, all other settings left the same) and observered the following:

1. Power draw went from 90 W to 114 W for each gpu
2. Temps of cards went from low 70's to low 80's, this is a bit too toasty for my liking
3. Hash rate basically unchanged (3427 kH/s to 3459 kH/s)

Conclusion: running at 80% power is the sweet spot for my 1060's

This seems interesting but, project needs to mature, miner is still unstable....

After working with it for most of the morning I also conclude this.

I ran into the following issues, same issue spread out over 8 rigs running the following 1060 1070ti 1080ti

All 3 errors below happen across all servers. Changing intensity, cpu priority, over clocking etc do not seem to help

Screen grabs below are from ASUS 1070ti

3 Main Issues

1. Hash rate not showing on stats page of pool (this is unimining.net, one of my favorite pools)

2. NVLM not found Not sure if this matters and may be a simple config error on my part.

2. Connection interrupted The most serious, have to restart miner to clear this

I will try new versions as (if) they come out and report my results.

(EDIT: hmm pictures not showing, just clickable urls. How to you get them to load on the page so people do not have to click them?)

You're using the wrong program.  Look VERY CLOSELY at the first line of text in your hsrminer-2.jpg screenshot.  Notice it says "HSR algo" and not "Neoscrypt algo".

You can't mine Neoscrypt using the HSR algorithm.

This may be because the zipped links are the other way around (the HSR link points to the cryptonight version and vice versa).
He probably downloaded the zipped version.

rikuu you are right, I grabbed the wrong one. If you mouse over the links its clear which one to get.
