Charlie is so disgusting.  I mean you"re literally stealing work product of hard working young guys trying to help NewYorkCoin.  Don't come back to NYC because you're not welcome here. This is the original image. /t8qSpxckTNLPiiFT9]https://photos.app.[Suspicious link removed]/t8qSpxckTNLPiiFT9

If there was a hard fork in October 2018, it was probably to remove the attacker's blocks.

I am not involved with anything here, actually I didn't even read the thread before posting. I was just checking out NYC on coinmarketcap, and I checked the rich list on the block explorer. There I noticed 32 blocks that said "Mr.51%", and I was like wtf? Inside these weird blocks is a single transaction with the input as the destination address. The balance appears negative.

Not many people understand what a 51% attack means, it is talked about a lot in the original bitcoin white paper.

Because the block times are fast, 300 confirmations are necessary to prevent another 51% attack.

diorthotis, just so you know, the Mr. 51% notations were made by the Community Devs to alert the public of the addresses that were used in the 51% attack.  It's helpful to identify the attacker in case any of those addresses are used in subsequent transactions.

You can learn more about the 51% attack from the Medium article posted https://medium.com/@newyorkcoin/timeline-analysis-and-response-to-recent-51-attack-941da50d625c  https://medium.com/@newyorkcoin/timeline-analysis-and-response-to-recent-51-attack-941da50d625c

The low IQ infiltraitors don't even realize that their cowardice shows even in their writing... "You'll have some real New Yorker's (plural and not yourself, LOL!) show me." "You ventured down to Soho, 4 car loads deep." ROFLMAO!!!

YOU ARE A MESSAGE BOARD WARRIOR, A COMPLETE CLOWN, MY UNWANTED GROUPIE & MY SILLY, LITTLE BITCH!

By the way, your entire Army of brainwashed, half-retarded PUPPETS are as scary as Gingivitis.  Cry

P.S. You are just visiting MY CITY. Don't ruin it. Or suck-up too many public resources during your stay. Or you might get sent packin' over to Jersey!  Tongue

Charlie you talk so much shit for someone who is not in NYC. I watch every shitty thing you say about me and best believe you will pay in one way or many.

There is no "split in Community". The "Community" is united. Devs listed above have contributed updated code, wallets and increased hashrate. I am an early miner. Separate from "Community". Decentralized digital currency! James contributed to early merchant adoption. James attended the 1st meetup in Washington Square Park that I held with my son in Nov 2017. Since then, you can research at discord. Maybe I should make another trip to Wall Street soon. I wonder if Jayden is still holding onto The New York Coin Center memorabilia and body signs...

I don't post under fake names. Keep insulting me though since it makes you feel like a man. You can play the Craig Wright of NewYorkCoin.

It's trading pre fork because you fail to keep your word and pay for the work done. You failed to even credit my BTC I put to cover losses

TronREX, you should reach out to the current devs on Github (github.com/NewYorkCoin-NYC) and not deal with this nonsense any further.  By the way Scryptenthusiast, I wasn't "Moonshot" (I never use fake profiles) but I echo his sentiments.  I don't need to troll you.
He even got himself banned from yobit for not keeping his word. Like if anyone does work for free now in days.

NewYorkCoin was featured in the Wall Street Journal today (copy wsj.com/articles/newyorkcoin-gains-traction-in-cryptocurrency-circles-1519147112 and paste into your browser)

Notable quote from Nick Spanos:

NewYorkCoin has a lot going for it, says Bitcoin and blockchain expert Nick Spanos, founder of the Bitcoin Center NYC.

“You can’t discount a coin that’s been alive for so long,” says Mr. Spanos, who has no investment in NewYorkCoin.

And the name doesn’t hurt, he adds: “It’s not, like, Oshkosh Coin, it’s New York City!”

I'm hearing about this airdrop, but there's no mention of it on NYC website, official twitter or reddit?
No offence but you're a brand new member, there's no evidence that this is linked to NYC.
Am asking you on twitter to see if I can get verification here!

Here's my verification http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20180205/FEATURES/180209967/the-cryptocurrency-craze-is-a-textbook-investment-bubble#utm_medium=email&utm_source=cnyb-morning10&utm_campaign=cnyb-morning10-20180205  See a photo of me in this article in which I am quoted.

COINOMI AIR-DROP

Coinomi wants to offer their users a NewYorkCoin "air-drop" of some free coins

100,000 users (+/-) each receiving 100 NYC would require 10M NYC donation from community.

Hold your coins, post your pledge here and then send directly to Coinomi.

Someone from Coinomi will post NYC deposit address here once we reach 10M NYC pledged

NewYorkCoin "air-drop"  is a good way to promote NYC.  I will donate 50,000.

NYC supporters, post your pledge here to help the development of NYC.

Air drop with Coinomi is a great idea.

Lakeshore I will match your donation 50,000 NYC.

Post your pledges here everyone supporting to help the development of NYC.

Anyone currently mining in the NYC pools should be able to match these two pledges.

The only way this coin will move forward and upward is with the help from all NYC supporters!

Hi  bro, thanks for your following!

NYC supporters,  no matter how many you donate, less or more than 50k,  just show your heart, take action, as more and more people are following, it will be easy to raise 10M!!

I'll donate 50,000NYC to the Coinomi Air Drop but let's get them to release the iOS version too! What a change in circumstance with that company

@Ilbilistenan - First, this coin isn't owned or run by one person or organization; it's decentralized like Bitcoin so its use cases are governed by what people want to use it for. Second, it's only listed on one exchange today, but with more validated use cases, I think the community believes it will naturally be listed on other exchanges.

Today, I can send NewYorkCoin to friends in France, Romania, Russia or Brazil, within seconds, who could decide to keep it or send it to an exchange to convert to another coin. That's just one use case that I can do now, whereas Stella Lumens needs to build it's network to accomplish what I can already do with NewYorkCoin.

Also, because NewYorkCoin's confirmation times are so quick, I don't need to wait around forever like I do with Bitcoin transactions.

But I'm not here to convince you to buy this coin; I'm a member of the community and I'm volunteering my time to provide updates.  Do your own research and make your own investment decisions with any cryptocurrency that you may acquire.

Whitepapers are for coins that haven't been formally implemented or created. Bitcoin's whitepaper preceded Bitcoin's creation.  Many ERC20 tokens without a working product use whitepapers to help people envision their token in the future.  NewYorkCoin is already an existing coin with an existing 4 year old blockchain so there's no need for a whitepaper.
