1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: December 18, 2017, 05:53:59 PM
Hello operator. Can you take a look at getting this sort of interface running on the site
https://github.com/jimok82/MiningPoolHubStats

I got it setup using a cheap web server i had laying around. it was super simple. i like this for a dashboard of all the coins with something going on plus a readout of the current hasing of all connected miners.
i would donate my leftover $1.43 in BTC at the pool to help out.

Wow man that's quite useful and kinda awesome, thanks a lot for the tool! Will definitely donate later)

Yes, it worked! Big thanks to JQE!

Probably now I understand the reason for parameter "retrycount = 1" in such cases) It uses for cases where miners pointed in bat file one by other.
Do I understand correctly that when I use 17xxx (17020 in my case) port miner will mine ant ethash crypto according to profitable?
For example, Ehereum, Pirl and so on. Correct?

Yes and if you specify the port 20xxx than you will mine the exact coin. You can check the port numer on the main page.

Also be sure to select proper algo/coin on the Workers page, otherwise it won't work.

Cheers

I personally use cex.io, localbitcoins и @BTC_CHANGE_BOT in telegram. Cryptonator as well, sometimes. You always need to compare the prices. Do not forget to include the commission.

For example, on site#1 you can see $4000=1BTC and 5%comission.
on site#2 you can see $4100 and 0% commission.
If you put 4100 into #1, you'll end up with .97375 BTC and on #2 with exactly 1. So always compare total rate including the commission.

As far as I know, there is absolutely no evidence that signature campaign works.
You can measure Facebook ads ROI easily and they work. But you need to spend real fiat money on FBads.
Bounty programs that offer no quantitative results can't be proved to be effective.

IF it is your first sale stage and you don't need a tremendous amount of money, you can actually make a closed presale of even raise money with SAFT.
You can check Colony's blog post about it.

This is a smart method if you need a small amount to get the project and infrastructure ready for an open sale.

You can use the search box or view all post [ALL] and you can use the CTRL+F ,search for keyword or your bitcoin username.

Yeah, that would usually work if the one who replied had hit the 'quote' btn.

If you guys want to explore the blockchain technology itself, I would recommend this Goldman Sachs interactive report. (Obviously this one is not spam)
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pls explain mining fee's to me on: October 12, 2017, 05:16:25 PM
you can think of it like this.

You are standing on the street and need to get to the other part of town. You can go to a bus stop, sit on a bus and get there, but this probably can take a lot of time

You are standing on a railway station in Paris and you have a piece of paper that you need to be delivered in London. The difference is that all of the train passengers are couriers who deliver documents.
In a centralized world, you would just go to DHL, pay a fixed fee and go away. This is how it goes usually, you don't mind how much was the actual cost of sending this document.

But in the blockchain, you actually can just stand in the middle of a train station with a poster:"Please deliver a piece of paper to London for $xx".
Every courier (miner) has a choice to grab your document with them. If you set a very high price, probably the first passing courier will pick up your document.
If you set a very low one, eventually you will get it delivered, but more probably on a weekend or at night, when there is not much business going.

Wallets with fixed commissions are like courier services. And for paper wallets, for example, you state the amount yourself.

But keep in mind, that in general transaction fee does not depend on the amount you want to send. Like the delivery for a piece of paper does not depend on the text printed on it. On small transactions, this can result in paying 10-25% commission.

If you're planning to invest $1000 and more, I would suggest buying a hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor). It is very easy to use and convenient and will most definitely keep your funds safe.

Is there any exchange announced who gone list RPX ?

Not yet.

Congrats to the RPX team for making a tough decision, though.

Hope this will become a lesson for next NEO ICOs
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Where can i invest my money? on: October 10, 2017, 05:25:00 PM
is there any tricks to find ICO you can be sure in 100%?
reviews, analisys, good score - can this protect from bad investment?

nothing can give you 100% assurance.
talking about reviews — take a look at author's previous reviews and their success. If the projects he reviewed as good have proven to be successful, then he may be considered a reliable source.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for the best ICO... on: October 10, 2017, 08:52:20 AM
Investing in ICO now is very risky. It is not June or July.
So investing into only one ICO will almost definitely bring you down. You need your Expected Return to be higher.

I would select at least five.

Also, consider keeping 20%-40% in BTC/ETH.

All this does not actually depend on the amount.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH bleeding death? on: October 09, 2017, 11:26:39 PM
The coming fork, of course, influences BCH, as it does with all other alts.
The amount of this influence can be slightly bigger.
I think no one can tell you exactly, but I'm pretty sure "bleeding death" is not the right description for a third-volume coin.
15  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Should I buy a Trezor or Nano S? on: October 09, 2017, 06:33:14 PM
A hardware wallet is definitely the best solution for keeping your crypto safe and not vulnerable. Of course, you need to keep in mind that you'll need a wallet every time you want to send a transaction.

Also, I would consider buying a pair. If you lose one, you can always restore on the other one almost immediately, and not wait for another wallet to arrive for a week.

Considering the choice – I have a Trezor. I like it for design and integrated password manager — you can store some private keys from other wallets there.

Good luck.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ?? on: October 09, 2017, 05:59:12 PM
Bitcoin is still not a really user-friendly way for p2p transactions/payments.

Another paradox is that BTC and other currencies are now actually LESS secure than fiat money if we take regular people.
You can't claim lost private keys or make a chargeback on a transaction. The more user-friendly your wallet is (password reset, touch ids, etc), the less secure (meaning storing private keys on-site).

The third reason is speed — with 400 (do not remember exactly) operations per sec at Visa, BTC and even ETH have a long way to go. Sadly, "decentralized" doest not mean "fast".
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country? on: October 09, 2017, 05:43:55 PM
Some states are accepting bitcoin even in exchange for their citizenship.
http://uk.businessinsider.com/vanuatu-accepts-bitcoin-for-citizenship-payment-2017-10

Anyway, generally, everything that can increase country's payment balance (lessen the debt) or GDP improves the economy.
Bitcoin itself can really help countries with underdeveloped financial sphere — no reliable banking sector, volatile national currency, etc. Also, it can become a new globalization way for countries under sanctions like Cuba or Iran.
