Thanks all and thanks Mogrith!

I used localbitcoin to set up a meeting with someone local. A little lower than the current rate, but I'll have the money in my hand tomorrow which helps tremendously.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Safe way for newbie to sell 3.425 bitcoins? on: October 16, 2013, 04:07:34 PM
Hi all,

I need some advice. I started mining right before the asics came out and made a few coins with ATI cards. I'm in a bad spot right now and I'm trying to come up with money to pay last months bills, when I remembered I had these coins sitting.

I checked the Mt. Gox rate and they should be worth around $544 as of this writing. I was going to create an account on Mt. Gox and sell them there, but I noticed in their faqs that there is a 4 week wait...  I also tried Bitcoin-brokers, but was told that they put a cap on sellers and are not accepting any more at this time.

I really need to cash these in as soon as possible to try and help pay my mortgage. What's a newbie to do at this point? I know paypal is a no no... what options do I have? I've read a lot of posts saying use escrow if selling to someone on the board, but how do you set that up?

It may seem like pennies to most of you guys dealing in large quantities of coins, but for me, the $544 is like a million at this point and I can't afford to be scammed...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it matters, I live in NC in the US.

Thanks!

Mog

Okay, so I reimaged, installed 11.10 and I'm using the included 2.5 SDK now and my CPU usage is down to 50%...

Any thoughts or suggestions on what might be causing the problem and on how I can get it to drop back down to 3-4%?

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for your time and help! I'm new to mining so bear with me.

I turned my gaming pc into a mining rig. It's running an i7-3770, 16 gig mem and dual ATI 5970's. (not in crossfire)

I'm using Catalyst 11.11, SDk 2.1, 774/500 and I'm getting great hash's... 351 per core. The problem is that cgminer.exe is using 99% of the cpu. The first setup I used 11.10 without 2.1 (whatever is packages with 11.10) and the cpu was barely be hit.

The temps in the mid to upper 70's. I tried dropping the voltage down to 1k, but it kept crashing the OS.

I tried GUIminer and when using that with pcdol, the cpu hit is 13% per instance. I do get better rates with CGminer, so would like to stay with it. I'm using the default cgminer -0 http://pool:port -u username -p password -I 9 to launch CGMiner.

What can I do to get CGminer to not utilize the CPU?

Thanks!

Mog
