1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]Verasity - A next-generation video sharing platform on: April 06, 2018, 10:03:05 AM
If you will be a quality project like Younow, your future will be brilliant. It is very important that such projects can be passed on.

Thank you! We believe the future is going to be very bright for Verasity.

We've got an established team with decades of experience working in video distribution, ad-tech, media and publishing. The team have held leadership positions before in companies such as Eurosport, Akamai, Diagonal View, AOL, Turner, Guardian Media Group etc

Established tech and a video player that has already been tested at scale up to 8 PetaBytes of data in a month.

Extensive legal due diligence has been done. Verasity is also one of the few companies to have SICOP compliance for our token sale: http://sicop.tokeny.com/verasity-tokeny-u180301

Our player is already live - you can try it for yourself today: https://verasity.io/?veraplayer

Our economy has been stress tested by cryptecon (center for cryptoeconomics): https://verasity.io/documents/verasity_economics_eng.pdf

We’re not doing P2P video distribution. CDN delivery is far more reliable and safeguards Verasity from copyright infringement which will cause advertisers to block P2P video networks wholesale

We have patent-pending Proof-of-View technology that tackles fake bot views. Our technology will combat ad-fraud, level the playing field for content creators, and improve content recommendation for viewers

Verasity’s Spark Marketplace allows viewers and users to buy smart contracts in creator channels - they then receive a share on a creator’s on-going success.

Verasity is building a proprietary blockchain based on the Graphene framework that can support 100,000 transactions per second. This gives us more control over our platform and ecosystem than those building on blockchains such as Ethereum

Viewers choose whether they want to watch advertising and if they do they'll get paid directly by advertisers for their attention

Verasity will have more unified monetization options for creators than any other existing video sharing platform at present

is the coin POW (Proof of Work)?

is it listed on an exchange?

Verasity uses a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus model. You can find out more here: https://verasity.io/documents/verasity_whitepaper_eng.pdf

No exchanges at present but we'll announce more on that down the line.

Hi everyone,

Really happy with how things are moving along for Verasity at the moment.

Our Telegram community has now grown to just under 14,500 members - people who believe in what we're trying to achieve at Verasity.

We've also had some great ratings come in via TrackICO (5/5), ICO Bench (4.5/5), and foxico (8/10).

Check them out here:

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Russia says BTC will never be legalised - do you think we'll see a knock on? on: November 21, 2017, 02:35:51 PM
Nikolai Nikiforov stated: "Bitcoin is a foreign project for using blockchain technology, the Russian law will never consider bitcoin as a legal entity in the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation."

The article goes on to say:

"However, Nikiforov added that it is "quite possible" that Russia could consider using blockchain technology, as well as various digital tokens. However, he did not provide any context in which the technology might be utilized."

Do you think we'll see other countries going down this route?

Best of luck to the team and onwards and upwards!
9  Economy / Speculation / At what price point do you think BTC will become more stable? on: November 01, 2017, 01:12:54 PM
As everyone knows BTC goes through large fluctuations - do you think this will always be the case or we'll get to a price point where a sort of stabilisation will occur and fluctuations will calm down?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXY] Experty.io - Get Paid Calls For Your Expertise 📱 on: November 01, 2017, 09:03:42 AM
I think this could be a really interesting project as it transfers across all sectors and it's scalable. Imagine you need a little bit of temporary advice as to how to set up a social media marketing plan, you've got an expert waiting for you on the phone. How about you're fixing your sink and get stuck, there's an expert waiting on the line to talk you through it. It definitely ties into the gig economy like mechanical turks too but the question is whether the "experts" will get paid a fair fee and how that filters through to the end user.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What's your go to Bitcoin source for information? on: October 19, 2017, 01:30:41 PM
Aside from Bitcointalk, obviously...  Cheesy
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: This guy predicts bitcoin to be $20,000 in 2 years. What do you think? on: October 19, 2017, 09:27:41 AM
If those prices become true I think we'll all be pretty happy. Some of them seem particularly bold though, especially on the altcoins.
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If we can educate our kids at home why do we need to send them at school? on: October 12, 2017, 10:49:09 AM
Because going to school isn't just about putting knowledge in your head, it's about interacting with your peers and everything that entails.
14  Other / Off-topic / What other things do you currently invest in aside from cryptocurrency? on: October 12, 2017, 08:39:11 AM
Personally, I'm starting to look into stocks/shares and bonds.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Serious topic: how can we be sure Bitcoin will not be banned by most countries? on: October 11, 2017, 10:01:51 AM
I think it would be very unlikely for all countries to ban it unless it significantly changed the world order by completely undermining all the major currencies. It's no-where near that at the moment.

I'm hoping that governments are more likely to regulate cryptocurrency and tax it.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's airdrops?? on: October 11, 2017, 09:54:07 AM
Well, they usually take only a minute or so to sign up for. Even if they're only worth a total of $10 it's still more money than you'd get from scrolling through your Facebook Newsfeed.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russian central bank to ban websites offering cryptocurrencies on: October 10, 2017, 02:42:42 PM
I guess how this plays out all depends on whether they're trying to stifle BTC in Russia because they want the new Russian official cryptocurrency built on Ethereum to prosper.
18  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are bitcoins only for the educated and knowledgeable people only? on: October 10, 2017, 11:52:05 AM
I think from a technological level it's for anyone and everyone which is what I love about it.

In terms of usability and user-experience, I think we've got a LONG way to go until it'll have real mainstream adoption from joe public. The reason I say that is that not everyone is particularly computer literate. If you think about even fairly simple terms to us like 2FA, public key, and private key, most normal people will not understand what they are or how to use them. There are places where Internet Banking is only just becoming a thing.

I don't think these things are insurmountable by any stretch and things will get a lot more user-friendly as time goes by, especially if mainstream players such as banks start to adopt and adapt the process/services for everyday people.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Ethereum on: October 09, 2017, 12:24:16 PM
In my mind I treat them as two very different things. I invest in BTC as for me it's a long-term store of wealth and I invest in Ethereum because I think it could possibly be the backbone of web 3.0 and that people will be using it without even realising on various different applications.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to deal with stress? on: October 09, 2017, 11:42:21 AM
For me it's a balance of these things: Running, sleep, meditation, and eating well.
