1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies launched on: August 06, 2013, 09:48:11 PM
If this alt-coin is indivisible, it means that if/when it rises in value you will only ever be able to send someone the value of a single unit as a minimum transfer...

Imagine if these were worth as much as Bitcoins are currently... the minimum you could transfer to someone would be over $100...  It is great to see that someone if trying to create something that actually has a difference, because most Alt-coins out there are just copy/paste jobs...  but this just wont work.

I read on another forum that the developer needs to update the checkpoints to make that error go away.

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank Account Closure - Australia (possibly due to sending money to TechnoCash?? on: July 11, 2013, 11:43:48 PM
Nah, no big transfers.

& they did not give me any opportunity to defend myself...  they shut all my accounts and were not even willing to discuss it.

It's a pretty shit way to treat a customer, especially because whatever it is that they are upset about, theoretically could have been done by an unauthorised person using my account.

It doesn't make any sense for them to not even allow me to defend myself... what a bunch of idiots.   Angry

Bump,  anyone else have the same experience as me?
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank Account Closure - Australia (possibly due to sending money to TechnoCash?? on: July 01, 2013, 04:49:36 AM
This is the e-mail response that the fking pieces of sht sent me when I asked why:

It is a fundamental aspect of the banker/customer relationship that the Bank can close an Account on reasonable notice. This is reflected in the Bank’s terms and conditions. (Refer attached page 22 paragraph 2.7.3.)

In this instance the Bank has made a commercial decision to cease your client/banker relationship.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank Account Closure - Australia (possibly due to sending money to TechnoCash?? on: July 01, 2013, 04:48:58 AM
They gave me 30 days to close all accounts, including share trading.  They said they would have given longer if I had a mortgage.

So I didn't loose any money, but I still have no idea why they did it.  Only thing it can be is bitcoin.

Does anyone else have a CBA account who purchased Gox funds by sending money to TechnoCash's bankwest account?
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bank Account Closure - Australia (possibly due to sending money to TechnoCash?? on: June 27, 2013, 10:43:09 AM
Guys,

I have just had all my Commbank accounts shut down without a reason!!  I have going into a branch and called a special number and e-mailed and written a letter and they are "declining to provide a reason".

I have one other friend who has also had this happen to him.  I suspect that it could be due to sending money to TechnoCash because my accounts got shut on the 17th of June and TechnoCash had theirs shut on the 13th of June.  My friend also used TechnoCash & we are both with (were with!) Commbank.

Can people in Australia who have sent money to TechnoCash please let me know if they have had the same problem so I can try to deduct the cause?

I do not participate in any illegal activities, no drugs, no fraud, no money laundering, no people smuggling, no terrorism...

If you have ever funded your Gox account with TechnoCash in Australia, please tell me the following:

What bank are you with?
Has your account(s) been shut down?
If your accounts have been shut down, did the bank give you a reason?
Any suggestion of what we can do about this?

Thanks guys, I am desperate and I need to know why they shut my accounts.

Zhou tong is back? This will be interesting.  Roll Eyes

Yeah man, I am really concerned after reading about the founder of this website.
I read on many threads that he has scammed many people with previous websites...
[search Zhoutong]

Some have actually coined the term: "getting Zhoutonged" meaning to get ripped off or raped... "to loose all your BTC"
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63831.0

I have always been a big believer in "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't"... 2% fee just doesn't sound like it is a sustainable business model.  All the other websites charge much higher fees, SpendBitcoin is the highest and his website explains very well why the fees are so high in Australia.

To be fair, I have friends who have used this new CoinJar service and got their Bitcoins fine (although not instantly as claimed)...  However, that is how scams usually work, build everyone's trust and then scam hard for heaps of money.

The fact that all the money and bitcoins in your CoinJar account are held in their possession is very scarey.

13  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Bitinnovate stops trading in Australia. Need another reliable bitcoin reseller on: June 25, 2013, 02:57:33 PM
CoinJar probably a scam (search Zhoutong),  real options include BuyBitcoinAustralia, SpendBitcoin and BitInovate

I would go with BitInovate if you want the lowest fees and BuyBitcoinAustralia if you want the bitcoins literally instantly.

Note that BitInovate only has lowest fees till the end of this month (cos of promotion).  Then BuyBitcoinAustralia will be the lowest fees of the trustworthy sites.

Hope that helps!

LOL, you are not affiliated with coinjar, but you happen to have an advertisement for them in your signature...  hahahah, whatever.

Read this thread and see if you want to hand your hard earned cash over to the former scammer who runs CoinJar:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233984.msg2471500#msg2471500

I use BuyBitcoinAus frequently and don't have to worry about trust, because they never hold my cash or my bitcoins, the BTC is delivered straight to my wallet.
15  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CoinJar - Australia's first VC-backed Bitcoin startup on: June 25, 2013, 03:15:08 AM
You guys claim to be instant, but I have been told by friends that have tried to use this service, that it is not instant.

One of my friends deposited money on a Friday and could not get bitcoins from you guys until Monday!!  (you guys really should not be claiming instant bitcoins - It's false advertising)

I also really don't like the fact that we have to put so much personal information into your website before being able to buy coins, that is why people hate using Mt Gox.

None of the other bitcoin sellers in Australia demand any personal info...
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Dice on: May 19, 2013, 03:13:25 AM
Guys, I should have mentioned last night (but I was real tired & not thinking straight) that I lost all my money on SatoshiDice and thought that I wouldnt be able to get more coins till Monday.  Cos i am over in Australia where the only way to buy BTC is to go to the bank.   But I found a new website that lets you buy BTC 24/7 !!!

If you are in Australia, hit up buybitcoinaustralia.com.au  it is the cheapest price I could find, but more importantly, it doesnt require going to the bank in business hours.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to bitcoins on: May 18, 2013, 05:08:11 PM
I just told two of my friends who are massive into bitcoins and they are loosing their minds over how awesome that site is.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to bitcoins on: May 18, 2013, 04:50:11 PM
Hey santostfm, I just lost a heap of money (well for me anyway) on SatoshiDice... and I thought I was going to have to wait until Monday to get more coins, but I tried that site you suggested (buybitcoinaustralia) and it is boss!!!

Allowed me to get more coins instantly, I just tried their minimum purchase first, to make sure it was legit, and when that rocked up, I smashed through my full order.

From cruising around on these forums, I have found that web-site based scams get revealed very quickly by people on this forum, I did a search to see if there were any bad reports on that website before I even put the first transaction through.

I am seriously pumped about this website, I am going to always use it to buy my BTC.  Bank hours are so crap if you work full-time, so all those other sites where you have to bank deposit... you gotta loose your lunch break to do it.

Thanks heaps for finding this one!

its not really a dice game tho.... its just a statistics game... you cant really have a dice with 64,000 sides can you... it would just look like a round ball.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Dice on: May 18, 2013, 04:12:54 PM
I was loosing too much on the 1000:1 bets.. I have moved to 100:1...

The cool thing is that you know the site is legit cos you can see the transactions on the block chain of people getting paid.
