2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Potential Altcoin on: October 17, 2018, 12:39:50 PM
Have you guys heard of Tapcoin? They run hospitality/advertising and branding coin that provides real world use--cases of crypto down to basic stuff. You can purchase drinks, food or pay your hotel bills with the coin. Ithink they're okay.

Yeah, i've heard of Tapcoin by Hooch and I actually downloaded the app. It is an interesting platform considering that they pay their users for their data and also reward them using the coin. it also enables their users to get access to celebrity hosted events, discounts at the over 100,000 hotels partnered with them and free drinks. It is a coin that will definitely be used by people almost everyday and therefore worth checking out.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano Outperform Bitcoin in 2018? on: February 08, 2018, 02:34:27 PM
I know alot of tokens will outperform Bitcoin this year, but not just sure about the project, I know the team has big figures in it, but just not sure what they aim to do, what is driving the price of BTC, Ethereum and recently NEO is because of ICO demand, if they can enter the race too, then it is possible

by outperform, do you mean in price or with respect to usage and mass adoption? Because either way for any altcoin to outdo bitcoin will have to scale up their operation by a light year... so to speak.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano Outperform Bitcoin in 2018? on: February 07, 2018, 10:57:42 PM
Two things: one, volatility isn't anywhere near ending. And two, Cardano has good roadmap and are almost achieving their next milestone, but just as @jvdp said, market capitalisation is very important. And I would add that bitcoin has the advantage of early starting and has quite the mileage already... for Cardano to catch-up in such a short time frame, more efforts needs to be put into it and thats like working round the clock for the next half decade before they can have the attention of the masses and not worry about price inflation, volatility and regulations. Because their 3rd Gen identity makes people look with so much curiosity and anticipation.

As of today,
BTC is 22,534 times greater than ADA in current price.

Price difference:
ADA:  $0.351517 USD
BTC: $7,921.23 USD

24hr Vol:
BTC is currently 12+ times the value of ADA in daily trading volume.

ADA: $734,804,000 USD
BTC: $9,478,720,000 USD

So in prospect, ADA looks great on paper and the dev team are working hard to ensure it's a reality, but practically now and through 2018... the speculation would be faulty because of the wide range of factors.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is hodling alts dangerous? on: February 07, 2018, 10:35:24 PM
Holding Alts is not dangerous, as long as their roadmap is not crippled. In fact, altcoins in some cases are more profitable in the short term than BTC as they show relative 2x, 3x, ... 10x within short periods of time. Bitcoin can only jump that high once in a while and then come down again. But this alts have a remarkable way of surpassing one's expectation, catching you off guard.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum can go under $600? on: February 07, 2018, 10:32:56 PM
I think it went below $600 yesterday or two days ago right? But look at it now at $800, I think it will only take days for ETH to claim its position at $1k rate again. Too bad because I wasn't able to buy ETH at $500-$600 rate as it seems that it will also be the last time that we will see ETH at that price.

Yeah, really bad... I missed that opportunity too. Would have increased my ETH pool and made huge profits when the correction is over. But we can't always pray for doomsday in cryptomarket just to make profit off the situation can we?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How the cryptomarket works? on: February 07, 2018, 10:31:13 PM
Bitcoin's appreciation is directly proportional to alt coins. However many people hold altcoins for two reasons; In fact, people use cryptocurrencies for two specific reasons:
1. To hodl as a store of value for long term gains.
2. As a tradable asset, to increase one's investment portfolio.

More so, we have seen in many cases where Bitcoin does a bullrun and leaves altcoins behind. Usually, in this instance, the alt coins begin to show a red indicator - reduction in value, this is because of the gap between them. In the mean time the altcoins will play catch-up.

So generally, BTC is like the base pair for all altcoins. But as the market continues to mature we would see many more pairs like in the traditional capital/Forex market. But for now depending on what exchange you are trading on, you could have ***/BTC, ***/ETH, ***/USDT, ***/USD, and ***/BNB.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What if we were all wrong on: February 07, 2018, 10:21:44 PM
If people keep second guessing themselves it would be hard to come up with a unique strategy to truly benefit from the system. But like every other investment strategy, we should stop letting emotion cloud our judgements and use logical data to compute our analysis of the market. And if your 'super power' is Gut instinct, then you could thread carefully.

But never forget that we have not even scratched the surface of crypto and blockchain potentials just yet. There's still a long way to go and so much more will go undiscovered if we quit now.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What if we were all wrong on: February 07, 2018, 12:24:18 PM
Hello people,

First of all... yes i hold btc and altcoins Smiley i believe in blockchain and so on... anyway

But what if, when this "correction" is not a correction..
Rather the beginning of the end of the cryptomarket, as we know it...

I missed the chance to sell at the high, but never thought, that the market is falling so fast and so strong...
at the moment, we cannot say where the bottom is... almost no moves up..
just crazy... so much money goes away from the market..

Do you still think it's a mistake? After all, we all know that the market is a speculative industry at best, no definite rules or guidelines on how to control the market other than the basic economic manipulation of the pump-dump scheme. The correction only reveals a necessity for future investors to observe due diligence before investing hard on the cryptomarket.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano knocks off BTC's Crown on: February 07, 2018, 10:58:44 AM
No my friend ico coin will mever surpass btc. Bitcoin has a natural growth and we got it from mining and i dont think any ico coin out there will surpasses bitcoin. Bitcoin is king of crypto and will be always king. The pioneer of thia industry even if the bitcoin tech is obsolete but many people will think about bitcoin if they talked about cryptocurrencies.

I think natural growth is due to mass hysteria and hype. Most people approach the blockchain mainly because of the financial aspects. Only a very few percentage take a look at the technology behind it.
Bitcoin has thrived long enough because it projected financial value, but when it comes down to the basic blockchain advantages, the problems of bitcoin begin to surface.
So, a more refined research into how blockchain can transform the overall economy is what top tier influences are after and not just temporal financial prospects.

Case in point; when you hear of regulation and standardization, it's not just pertaining to bitcoin but blockchain and all of its products. However, when you hear of a 'BAN' it most likely has to do with cryptocurrencies of which bitcoin is the most referred to (like you said 'king of crypto') and ICOs only because of unregulated and anonymous crowdfunding source and destinations.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How big can the whole market grow? on: February 07, 2018, 10:51:04 AM
Considering the current level of exposure and the peeking interests of government institutions, there's going to be a slower than last year improvement in the market.
But the following outcomes are possible:
1. $1T USD before December 31st 2018, at which point the system becomes viable for a fractional improvement in the coming year.
2. Bitcoin's market share is most likely to dwindle.
3. Altcoins are likely to be more competitive as newer models with scalability features are to be rolled out this year.
4. ICOs are on the verge of complete absorption. ICO 2.0 platforms will thrive on this premise.

So the market cap may attain higher heights, but staying at such levels will be more difficult.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How big can the whole market grow? on: February 06, 2018, 02:38:11 PM
The market will reach to zero in an year or two. That is the inside info which I have from the reliable sources.

That's not possible, I really doubt that. But that would have been possible if there were no regulatory support, if it was clearly a 'BAN', then I could agree. However, part of the G20 summit's agenda is to discuss regulation of blockchain, bitcoin, altcoins and ICOs not a complete ban.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How big can the whole market grow? on: February 06, 2018, 01:23:46 PM
Crashes won treally affect market cap in future. 1 or 2 trillion dollar market cap will be reached in a year or 2 years. I am sure of it. Anyways I would love to see it happen slowly, we don't need quick upgrade anyways.

Exactly! This is not what the market should look like, too much too soon can affect long-term objectives of cryptoeconomics. With an unprecedented all time highs and lows, these volatility ratios can damage crypto reputation and make it hard for mainstream adoptions in the near future. It so sad that all this is happening just when the

However, the highest form of limits are those currently experienced by the Chinese crypto community.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: February 06, 2018, 12:25:19 PM
I've gotta say, the last 36 hours of price action took me by surprise. I definitely thought I felt capitulation on the spike to $7,500. I guess I was wrong. Sentiment seems incredibly bearish, especially considering the fact that we've already dropped nearly 70% from the highs.

Like people never experienced a BTC dead cat bounce before. Tongue

The weekly close and the sustained bearishness definitely suggests the possibility of a new bear market. But I'm still sticking with my guns.....there is definitely a mega bounce incoming. And $13k-15k is still on the table.

Whether people dump the bottom first is another matter. Grin

This will go down in history as one of the most outstanding moments in crypto market, where the mighty falls dragging on its quests. If and when this market recovers, the market should prepare for a more bullish trend especially from new adopters.

However, like its commonly said 'brace for impact' as it would seem BTC hasn't touch down yet.

Like with all analysis maybe the doom of this was in the number of people beginning to follow and believe in it. Makes for an easy target for manipulators. Poor sheeple.

I guess it is safe to say we are way to soon and yet far from mass adoption. If people joining the cryptocurrency train on the basis of pseudo believe, can have this much negative impact on the integrity of blockchain enterprise (cryptocurrency included) as a whole, then we may as well not be ready for this roller coaster trip of price fluctuation.
