1  Economy / Gambling / Re: e-SportsBetting.org - Write Esports Betting Tips - Win Real Money - 100% FREE on: August 30, 2018, 02:54:04 PM
I thought I would give this a shameless bump for those that might have missed it the first time around:

We run a monthly competition over at our website, E-SportsBetting.org. Here you will post your betting tips on e-sports, trying to predict the upcoming matches and give your insights as to why you like your predictions. The tipsters that can tally up the most profits during the month the competition runs can claim one of the top 4 prizes we hand out, as well as a chance to win one of our two random draw prize winners as well.

The competition has been run every month since we last posted here and we intend to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. There is another one coming up in September now, so time to get ready!

We're also planning on adding some more money to the prize pool for the top tipster based on our subjective analysis; basically those we feel give the best tips and analysis, not necessarily those that only happen to win the most that month, as well as a yearly prize pool for those tipsters that can consistently provide solid predictions.

Any feedback or comments on the competition and/or our website is much welcomed, both good and bad! Smiley

I've got Rogue in Rogue vs hero and Special in Special vs Elazer so hopefully my guys can win and I can climb to the top of the November leaderboard contest Wink
I like those bets as well, really excited to see Special vs Elazer later today, gonna be a good one!

And here I am rooting for Elazer.. The game will be amazing regardless of the outcome but I do believe it'll be a tight one.

Best of luck to you Meistro Wink.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind both advancing, always rooting for the foreigners during Blizzcon, but I play Terran myself, so gotta go with Special then Smiley

We have updated our November competition: same prize pool - different structure!

November 2017 Betting Competiton
For November we have decided to change up our payment structure after some input from you guys. The prize pool will still be $200, but part of that will go to a random drawing to people that are active on the site and posting a lot of tips. The prizes for the winners will also be spread out a bit more.

So for November we have this prize structure:

  • $75
  • $40
  • $25
  • $10

In addition we will draw 2 random tipsters who will receive a $25 prize. To be eligible for this draw, you need to have posted a minimum of 15 tips during November.

Awesome new structure, I like it. The more winners you reward = more tipsters joining up Smiley.

My input would not be that you draw 2 random tipsters but perhaps 2 people that write extremely well structured and analyzing predictions? Just my thought as some people may put in a lot of time but get a bit unlucky with a few games which would ruin their overall statistics.
That was the intent - hoping to see even more people partake for the next months rounds Smiley

Yeah, that was a good idea. We've thought about doing a subjective competition where we pick a 'Top Tipster' or 'Contributor of the Month'. We are working on adding a system so visitors/users can vote on tips if they like it or not, maybe we can tie it in with that in some way?

Do they provide a sportsbook service or only the tipster competition.

No sportsbook service, we only provide a tipster competition, so if you want to place bets for real money you have to go somewhere else unfortunately!

Snute may be out but we've seen some great foreigner upsets already. Neeb vs Rogue was an incredible series, but Stats getting rekt by Special of all people was pretty phenomenal. I've been watching a lot of the matches live on Twitch but WCS StarCraft is starting to get the games uploaded as well.

My vote is for the second format. With six prizes up for grabs there is a much bigger chance of people getting a prize, so that is more incentive for people to join the community and share their insight into e-sports. I think it's a great and really generous promotion btw, I mean it costs nothing to enter and you have a chance of a pretty awesome prize. Now that October is pretty much done and dusted it's a great time to join in for Novembers competition because nobody will have a head start on you.
Yeah, crazy seeing Special 2-0 TY as well - really hoping he does well in the playoffs too!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, seems like that might be better for others, higher chance of winning something at least Smiley
9  Economy / Gambling / Re: e-SportsBetting.org - Write Esports Betting Tips - Win Real Money - 100% FREE on: October 29, 2017, 01:05:39 AM
Since your website is call e-SportsBetting, I'm assuming there is no plan in adding any other type of sports bet right? I like e-sports, and since it's free I might give it a go on next month, but I think it would be cool if you offered the possibility of betting on a larger variety of sports, and not just e-sports.
As for the prize, I would prefer more prizes, instead of just a few big ones.
No, sorry, that is not planned, not anytime soon anyways. We do have another project in mind where we might do the same thing for regular sports, but that probably won't happen anytime soon either. Will definitely post it here if we get it up and running!

Thanks for the feedback regarding the prizes. I am unsure as to what people prefer, so might start a poll or something on the site as to what people prefer. I want to reward people that are active on the site someway, so where thinking about something like this maybe:

1st place: $100
2nd place: $50

Draw between all the posters that posted over 15 tips during the competition: 2 prizes of $25

This way you might still win something even if you have a bad month of posting.

Or maybe spread the prizes out even more:

1st place: $75
2nd place: $40
3rd place: $25
4th place: $10

and the random draws as well

Anyone have any input on what you prefer?

Anyone else pumped for Blizz Con?  This is the biggest e-sports event of the year, I bet we are going to see some incredible games.
Hell yeah! Sucks that Snute is out already though, was hoping he could get a run in, but not surprised really :/

I totally forgot about this site! Although I've been betting on Epicenter this entire week.. lolz.

Did one of the competitions end? Will you share some of the stats on here perhaps, winners and their respective winrate and all that.. Would be cool.
Competition is still in effect (both of them!), but the main one for this month is ending in about 6 days.

New one is coming up for November though, so if you don't feel you have a chance at a prize now, you can always get ready for the next one!

Good news! And I'll definitely sign up for the November one, there's some cool tournaments coming up that month so I'll surely get some good reviews going.

Will you share the results here about winners, win rate etc?
Great to hear! Note that you don't need to signup to any of the competitions, everyone is automatically participating by posting tips.

Yes, the results are already updated on the competitions page here: October 2017 Results

If you feel any stats should be added there, like ROI for example, we could do that.

Tried your site (as recently stated) during the CSGO games last night and I'm very happy about how it all works out. You put in the results very quickly which allows me to calculate my next bets and that's a really good thing.

I'm very pleased with my experience so far, and I'm super excited about what's to come in the future!
Thanks - yes, the grading of bets are done automatically, but there have been some errors a few times, but hopefully no bugs going forward! Grin

I tried to sign up, It was good as we can say, and 200$ prize pool every month is not that heavy and I believe there is really no catch here but just to give traffic on the site which is good to promote it. Anyways, myonly opinion is Its very hard to give tip because of the 50 word explanation, it will really take your time.
Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah, we agree that it probably will deter a lot of people from trying it out, but in our experience people prefer explanations for the tips that are posted. We might lower it a bit more, but likely never remove it.

However, we have some other ideas we would like to implement, for example "Contributor of the Month" which would reward those that post good analysis and are active on the site. That way we might have the option to have it both ways.
Because honestly I play DOTA most of the time, and you just cant give 50 word analysis per game, because sometimes it is also dependent on the drafting phase, and the betting site that i am gambling to is you can still bet while watching the drafting phase, although in other esports like CSGO you can do this,
I want to suggest as well, that maybe it will also be good, if we can just tip and let the users of the site see our bet statistics.
Yeah, it is tough to analyze games, that is why gambling is so hard. There are a lot of variables to account for so I see your point, but it isn't hopeless even if you don't know the draft, there are plenty of other factors to consider.

You can see the statistics of players already on the site (we just haven't made it easy to find it, we are fixing that as we speak), here is an example: https://www.e-sportsbetting.org/users/MasterYoda/

quite interesting especially those who understand how the matches will go thru, its an advantage  to esports fanatics sharing their thoughts and receiving a rewards after, the concept is quite original to bring traffic and bring both tipsters and gamblers who also wanted to see some edge. well looking forward for more tipsters to join your site mate.
Thanks - we are looking forward to the same Wink

That's what I thought the unit parts was too. But can I bet as many units as possible? Because I could just find one good match with an odds of 2.5 or something, place 1000 units on it, win it and then basically win this competition you have running? Cheesy

No need to edit my bet, I'm fine with the 10 units placed. I appreciate it though Smiley.

And good to hear that you have a lot of stuff planned for the future! I'm excited Cheesy
No, you are limited to placing between 1 and 10 units to avoid those kind of scenarios Wink

Ahh! That makes sense. Well I appreciate you helping out and answering all my questions. I like what I see and I will definitely use your website to try out this competition, and in the future as well. I do enjoy predicting CSGO games and giving my reasoning behind it, makes me more confident when I place my own bet Cheesy.
Just happy to help Smiley

Gotta love a new site with no catch - though I must say that providing tips without betting is a whole different ball game. I know as I consistently perform better when predicting sports (football) without having placed a bet myself. Can't say exactly why since I normally bet once I've concluded it's a good bet but I suppose there is a lot of underlying psychology behind it (for example, knowing somehow where your bet will likely lie and then seeking evidence to support the call).

Too bad I'm not at all an e-sports fan. Don't know my LoLs from my WoWs. Any plans to do something similar but for actual sports?
Yeah, that seems to be the case in my experience as well. Guess I rarely post tips when I'm on tilt Smiley

Not right now at least. We are testing our site for e-sports, but if it becomes a success, we might do it for another sports betting site we run. Tough competition in that field though.

Basically I don't have to deposit anything ,just predict a match and win money ? How legit are your lucky draws ? If my betting tip wins,do I luckily get paid for it with other tipsters or the prises are assured for the win tips ? Either way, what's the catch ?
Yes, you are fully correct - no catch Smiley

Now, you are not guaranteed to win, for both of these competitions, only the top two tipsters will get prizes. We are open to change this though, don't know if people prefer top heavy, or more places paid, but lower prizes.

Obviously we are looking for something in return, and what we hope to gain by hosting these competitions is that people will start to use the site and hopefully post tips that other users can find useful for their own betting. We are hoping to create a community on the site and want to get it started with giving people some incentive to not only write tips, but actually do proper research and give it some real thought to get that extra chance to win.

We are looking into other competitions and incentives for people to use and interact with the site, but for now we are just running tipster competitions.

As for how legit we are, I'm not sure how I can prove that to anyone, but I would be happy to show proof of payment after the first competitions have finished. I understand if people might want to wait it out to see if it is actually legit though Smiley

I like the idea, and I think a community for e-sports betting predictions would be great and something we are currently missing..

I have a few questions.

1). Is this only for LoL or are games such as dota2 and CSGO included?
2). Will I only make a pick of either team or should I write some reasoning behind the pick?
3). Will you count % of picks won or total amount of picks won torwards deciding who wins?

Looking forward to hopefully take part in this after my questions have been answered Smiley.
Yeah, we were thinking the same thing - seems people are finding it hard to have a place to post their tips on and be able to share it easily with their followers, so hoping this site can be used as such. We have many features we want to add, but just had to put it out there now to start testing it a bit Smiley

Regarding your questions:

1. Right now there are two competitions;

The main monthly competition is one, and here all the bets you place (on CS:GO, Dota 2, LoL, etc.) will count towards your total profit.

The other competition is for Worlds 2017, which is only for LoL, and only LoL games in Worlds 2017 (guess there aren't any other LoL games right now anyways, heh).

So basically, if you post tips on LoL games, they will count towards both of the competitions as it is eligible for both the competitions, but if you place on other games, they will only count in the main competition.

Note that everyone is automatically added to all the competitions, so no need to sign up or anything. If you don't want to partake in one, then just don't post tips for that one.

Hope that made more sense Tongue

2. When you go write a tip, you pick the match you want to predict, then pick a bet you like (you can bet on match winner, handicap and totals at the moment, might add more bets later), how much you would recommend to bet (scale of 1-10) and write your reasoning for the tip. We require a minimum of 50 words, this is because we don't want people to just guess here, you need to base your pick on something. Goes with our reasoning of trying to build a community of tipsters here.

You can obviously write more if you want to Wink

3. We will count total profit - so if you bet on a big favorite like SKT1 to beat another team in Worlds, you are likely to get low odds, and thus the profit of it won't be too high. So you need to balance risk here; should you bet high on them, risking losing a lot, but high chance of winning a little - or look for some outsiders you can take a chance on.

Let us know what you think, happy to answer any questions you guys might have!

Hehe.. Just after registering on your website I found all the answers I needed. You got something great here and I truly hope this will grow at a good rate. I love this and I give it 10/10, will definitely start posting my picks as well as look at the others. Wrote up my first one and I was surprised of how easy it was, it is very nice that you integrated all the games, all the odds and all the picks for the game. I love it.

Will you in the future allow for betting on certain maps in a bo3 for example?
Will you explain what "Units" means? I just wrote 10 but I have no clue what I mean by that.. lolz.

So far, so good. Thank you for this!
No worries, maybe someone else had the same questions Smiley

And thanks for the kind words, I'm glad that you like it!

Yes, we want to implement more bet types and odds. We have just made the site very "basic" right now, but are working on adding new features. Can't tell you for sure when we have it, but we have been working on it!

Yeah, we need to put an explanation in write tip section as well, seems others wonder about that too, hehe.

Basically units means how much you wager on it (with your fake bank). So if you wager a 10 unit bet on a match with 1.90 odds and the bet wins, you will have a profit of 9 units, but if you lose your net profit will be -10 units.

So if you rather wager 3 units (safer, but less reward as well), you will only net 2.70 if you win, but only lose -3 units if you lose.

It is basically meant to be used for people to rate their tip on a scale. Maybe they find a bet they like, but the odds is a bit low, so they might bet a bit less on it. Or maybe they find a bet they really like and want to really gamble on it paying off.

I see that you posted a 10 unit play now, I can edit it for you if you want to lower it. We don't allow people to edit their tips after they are posted (a bit too easy to cheat then), but we can do it manually if you let us know soon after a tip is posted Smiley
