3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] UNEAK Asset (FREE 0.02 BTC) on: March 05, 2018, 09:24:29 AM
Is this still open or has it been filled now?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it just me or has the word 'airdrops' lost its meaning on: February 24, 2018, 02:58:11 PM
I understand what a lot of you are saying in that the typical 'airdrop' requires less than a bounty but, to be honest, the "follow my twitter, post a tweet, join my facebook, post a facebook status, join my telegram channel and group" model is not at all something which shoul dbe entertained as an airdrop. It is a bounty.

A bounty is defined as an action which will create trade/demand for an item/service. By joining all the social networks and making social posts you are assisting with marketing and helping to create demand for the ICO. People who do all this work to receive like $5 dollars of crypto are literally being used as promoters an a really low salary.

i have been in the airdrop scene for a while and it started with "fill a form and get a drop" then it progressed to "fill a form and join telegram for verification" now it is a straight up bounty.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is it just me or has the word 'airdrops' lost its meaning on: February 21, 2018, 08:23:53 PM
Pretty much what the title says. Has the meaning of airdrop changed or something? I notice that every crypto currency and website etc is claiming they have an airdrop which, in reality, are bounty programs.

A scheme where you have to follow a load of social accounts and make posts for a couple coins is not an airdrop.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins vs Tokens on: February 21, 2018, 08:08:35 PM
I think a couple people in here have given viable explanations to the difference between altcoins and tokens but, if I am honest, I think it is another term which the crypto community is just throwing around willy nilly.

Airdrops is another one. . .
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment strategy question: Bag transfer on: February 20, 2018, 03:20:03 PM
If you can see more chance of a profit through the alternate coin then, yes, it is a good idea. If the coin is as much of a gamble as the other then maybe not so good
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [AIRDROP] GreenX Token- Community driven cryptocurrency on: February 20, 2018, 01:52:14 PM
It is community driven and when we are backed by a large crowd, this can be achieved.

I wouldn't be so sure, there are many projects which have absolutely huge communities which are struggling to achieve this due to restrictions from governments and banks
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP] TWIST : Revolutionising Blockchain Accessibility on: February 17, 2018, 08:00:12 PM
TWIST update - Airdrop Distribution

TWIST is live! We'd like to thank the community once again for embracing our project and the team has been blown away by the level of interest!
We've had a total of 1938 registrations since our airdrop announcement and our community is growing every day!
Our project has garnered significant interest from the crypto community and a great article was written by DaFingIs: http://somethingdecent.co.uk/crypto/airdrop-alerts/airdrop-alert-twist-network-twist/, advertising our airdrop and embracing our vision of a more accessible blockchain.

Distribution

The transaction: http://explorer.twist.services/tx/9ba9e1e9585b9ce8a6499363148bbf9246bf19eebdb1fd64b9c0d1d7fca0fbde

170 million coins have been distributed evenly among all airdrop participants.
Each participant received (170,000,000 / 1938) = 87719 coins

If you registered to the airdrop on time your coins have been sent to your address and are ready for you to access and stake!

Wallets

The updated wallets compatible with the new blockchain have been released:

Windows: https://github.com/TWISTproject/core/releases/tag/1.1.0
OSX: https://github.com/TWISTproject/core/releases/download/1.1.0/twist-qt-osx-v1.1.0.dmg
Linux: https://github.com/TWISTproject/core/releases/download/1.1.0/twist-qt-linux-v1.1.0

Follow this tutorial for information about upgrading your wallet and importing your airdrop address: https://twist.network/files/TWIST-New-Wallet-Tutorial.pdf

Next Steps

The next short-term goals for TWIST will be the release of bounties, getting listed on exchanges and finishing off development of the TWIST ID functionality in our TWIST toolbox.
We will be providing regular updates to the community through our social media channels as we work towards each of our project goals. This has been a great start for TWIST, and we're looking forward to a exciting journey!

Best wishes,
The TWIST team

Hey bud, thanks for posting a link to the article! I'm gonna write a proper article about you all to follow it up

I like that youre actually putting some form of verification into this and look forward to it!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PoS][SAKE] Sakecash [AIRDROP][BOUNTY] on: February 14, 2018, 05:05:20 PM
It's not an airdrop if you have to jump through hoops to get anything. What you have proposed is a contest mate
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MEET NKOR-New standard for verification and distribution of digital data on: February 07, 2018, 11:28:01 AM
The licensing industry is a massive industry and if you can get a hold in it with the blockchain it will be massive. The problem is definitely with rights management, look at all the recent lawsuits regarding the music industry and legal ownership of songs etc. Interesting project.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON (TRX) Scam on: January 27, 2018, 12:14:56 PM
People in crypto need to really stop calling everything a scam, it doesn't do the industry as a whole any good.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The price of gas has finally dropped on: January 12, 2018, 11:48:12 AM
I'm sure you all have noticed the ridiculous gas price recently! Well it has finally dropped back down to 8 Gwei (yay).

Does anyone know what caused it to rise, and then drop again?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: November 03, 2017, 03:36:18 PM
i would avoid Dogecoin, DGC, and Litecoin airdrops below.  Check the application form, they look identical and spam each other's twitter retweet:

scam?coincidence?

dogecoin
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSelufJPz3AwpYGucb8XIYvRrWzKcGROL1aqm3bFX2xGCYitgQ/viewform
you can send 0.9 eth or 0.5 eth or 0.1 eth or 0.09 eth 0r 0.005 eth or 0.009 eth or 0.005 eth to the distributor address

Digital Coin DGC
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1HoJ0ZyQSCNWAObCKzSkNkGOWDF_JUc_APAtuDSzRnk8/viewform?edit_requested=true
To prevent spam and plenty reclaim attempt,
you've to send 0.09 eth, 0.05 eth, 0.01 eth 0r 0.009 eth and 0.005 eth to the distributor address

Litecoin Token
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScp7V2xSE3uBv0sEk9PtmW0jDlxq6QuExZi2KtqgDSbjqsVKQ/viewform
you can send 0.9 eth or 0.5 eth or 0.1 eth or 0.09 eth 0r 0.005 eth or 0.009 eth or 0.005 eth to the distributor address

I would not participate in any airdrops which require you to either send ether or participate with their contract through your personal wallet and send gas. They will most likely turn to be scams. If they distribute 100% free then cool, other wise get tae
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can i buy altcoin with ETH? if yes, how? on: November 03, 2017, 03:34:49 PM
YEs you can buy altcoins with Ether and, personally, I prefer to. The fees and wait times with Bitcoin are considerably higher!
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟 [ANN][AIRDROP] Genesis Coin UPDATE | Fast. Secure. Flexible | FREE Airdrop 🌟 on: November 03, 2017, 11:20:32 AM

4) You must reply this thread stating that you filled out the form to help us verify legitimate Bitcointalk profiles.

This thread will get closed, if you encourage people to spam here, you better find another way to verify the profiles.

I'm glad this has been noted and acted upon, so many of these are requiring posts and it is just making otherwise dead threads look popular even though they're just full of newbie accounts.

I'm really not a fan of all these coins asking people to post in their threads. It's just making loads of threads with fuck loads of comments which don't really say anything. madness.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, Litecoin or Bitcoin on: October 30, 2017, 09:10:12 AM
I see everyone is very much behind bitcoin but it seems the main reasoning is literally that it was first. In all honesty I understand that it is going nuts with price but I do not see it ever replacing FIAT currency. Another crypto will. At the moment BTC takes for ever to actually confirm and the fees are considerably high in comparison to other cryptos. I wanted to buy a TenX card for $15 and ended up having to buy $23 worth of BTC to cover the cost of TX fee, and it took over an hour to confirm. In the world of business that is not going to fly at all. The point of crypto is to make things easier but, unless you have it in a wallet already, BTC seems to just add hurdles to making your transaction
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEO's tech is better than that of ETH? on: October 30, 2017, 09:05:48 AM
I think that the future of Neo will heavily depend on the regulations set out by china in the near future. If they end up deciding, as many speculate they will, that Neo is their preferred platform for ICOs then I guess I'd expect Neo to match or possibly surpass Ethereum just down to the sheer size of the Chinese population. No company is going to want to shoot themselves in the foot and exclude a nation of over 1.3 billion from being able to invest in them. As well as the Chinese population you also have countries like Japan who would probably prefer an East Asian based company to handle their ICOs.

It's all goin to be very interesting when, and if, the PBOC release their stance on the situation.
