1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / wallet problem on: November 06, 2017, 12:25:51 AM
I am new to the crypto world and I need your help please... My situation is challenging so I will try to simplify it in the following points:

1- I have installed "Bitcoin ABC" and "Knots" on the same computer
2- Transferred bitcoin to the "knots" and bitcoin cash to "bitcoin ABC" from internet trading website.
3- The transfer went smooth and I saw the coins (although they were mixed up in type.. for example it showed bitcoin cash coins as bitcoins)
4- Hearing about an easy way to store bitcoin, I installed Electrum also on the same computer by creating a standard wallet (for some reason now I realised it is a multi-sig wallet, even though I am sure I did not create it this way)
5- I obtained the private key that has the bitcoin from "Knots" and swapped it in Electrum
6- When I saw the bitcoin in my electrum I thought that this will enable me to send it at anytime using electrum so I deleted the "knots"
7- Now I have:
a) Electrum wallet it is called 2_of_2 but I cannot find the 1_of_1 wallet (if I will need it to send the bitcoin)
b) I have full access to this electrum wallet so I managed to get the private key, address that has the coin and the transaction details. However, I cannot send the coin anywhere since it is watch only wallet
c) Also have full access to the knots wallet

Can anyone help please? I am more than happy to send a generous donation in return if I got my bitcoin

Cheers
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin core showing bitcoin cash balances instead of bitcoins on: October 16, 2017, 01:46:14 AM
Hey guys,

I have installed bitcoin knots and bitcoin ABC on the same computer and now I cannot access my bitcoin wallet!

I have a backup of it but every time I launch the bitcoin knots, it starts syncing (and stop at certain point)! in addition it is showing my transactions in bitcoin cash instead of bitcoin.. for example it will show that I have sent from my wallet 0.2 bitcoin cash, while this was bitcoin not cash.

Can you please help, these are my hard earned coins!

Thanks
3  Bitcoin / Electrum / Lost 1 of 2 Multisig wallet on: October 12, 2017, 08:48:07 PM
Hey guys,

This is really strange, I do not recall creating a multisig wallet to start with!

I had coins on Knots but I decided to move on to Electrum as it is a lightweight app. So, I sweeped the knots private key to electrum. By doing that, I was able to see my coins on electrum and I started to move my coins to it accordingly. Now, I got a Nano s and wanted to move them to it, I found myself not able to. Looks like somehow, I have lost one of my multisig wallets and this is the strangest part as I only created one wallet!

At the moment, I have the 2 of 2 wallet, its password and I can see my coins there. I do not recall that there was a seed given to me when I created this wallet. Any idea how I can solve this?

happy to send a reward to anyone who can fix this issue.
Cheers
4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum partially signed on: October 11, 2017, 05:24:25 AM
Hi guys,

I have bitcoin on electrum 2.9.3, I have no issue receiving on it, however, I just got Ledger Nano s and tried to send it to its address.

Normally, I go to the send tab, type the amount and the address then click send and type my password. However, electrum does not want to continue the transaction and there's a message box as follows:

Transaction ID: Unknown
Status: Partially signed (2/4)

And there are few buttons at the bottom of the box as follows:

Copy, save, send to cosigner, sign (this one is greyed), Broadcast (this one is greyed as well).

When I click the send to cosigner one, it says "failed to send transaction to cosigning pool"

Can you please help me to fix this issue?

Thanks
