the best altcoin is high volume transaction, this now is the best ethereum, monero, riple , litecoin
but you want altcoin under 1 million marketcap
maidsafecoin
iconomi coin
dogecoin (but is very dificult to take profit in trading dogecoin)

Umm.. all of the coins you listed are way above 1 million marketcap

Burstcoin  (BURST).  Hovering around 1 million market cap right now.  Established, great community, and green/eco friendly HDD mining that really starting to catch on!

I have read about this before. I am not sure what to think about the HDD mining, but seems really cool!

Is there actually any Proof-of-Stake used currently in Slimcoin? It is mentioned but there is very little information about the PoS side..
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Slimcoin Official thread. First Proof of Burn cryptocurrency. New Bounties 2016 on: December 20, 2016, 12:32:06 PM
Are there any other proof-of-burn coins in active development? Slimcoin is the only one that I could find with at least some activity, although very silent with this coin also..

For me Bitbay but do your own research and pick wisely. Crypto is not easy to pick a winner.

Thanks! Will do some research about this Smiley

And let me clarify that the investments amounts I am thinking about would not be huge. Something that I can just forget about for a year or two and see if I have made something or lost it all Cheesy Damn, I was sure I bookmarked some projects already for later reading, but I cannot find them anywhere..
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoins under 1 million marketcap? on: December 20, 2016, 11:20:30 AM
You can find most of altcoins with their marketcap and daily trading volume at coinmarketcap
http://coinmarketcap.com/

but if you are looking to invest in such coins the make sure you do a proper research about coin before investing you hard earned money and don't invest in coins that doesn't have enough trading volume according to your investment amount.

I am asking if someone has made some research already and can give some recommendations. Coinmarketcap lists over 100 coins with marketcaps of 100k-1mil so that is a lot of research to be done  Grin

Hi!

I was sure that there was a thread about "Best altcoins under 1 million marketcap" before, but I cannot find it anywhere! Does someone have a link? If not, post your thoughts here Smiley I will try to remember what was posted in the previous thread that got my attention and post them here also.
Do you know how marketcap calculates the coins's total capital? if a coin has 10M supply then they take an average price in at least from 5 different exchanges and multiply the price into those 10M but never actually give you the true statistics, if $1 per coin then they show total capital $10M but in reality if you try to sell 50K of said coin for $1 price you'll end up at $0.1 price for that coin and a total capital of $1M.
Best way to know which coins are worth the try is to check their buy support because only buy support is what matters.

Yes, I know how marketcap is calculated and that the liquidity especially in low marketcap coins is practically non-existent. I am maybe looking for projects that have good ideas and promising teams to invest in for the long run.

Be careful with these coins with little marketcap, they are like that for a reason and only luck with get you on to a winner, no skill involved.

If you invest in these small "shitcoins" you will definitely get burned if you are not super careful.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XDN potential on: December 03, 2016, 02:20:39 PM
XDN is run by team bytecoin, so the guys behind the 80% stealth mine of BCN are at the wheel of duckcoin.

Avoid, good tech isn't enough in this case

Bytecoin brought a new era to crypto by being the first CryptoNote currency out there. Clearly fastmining a lion share of their own currency was a mistake and this was avoided in DigitalNote.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / XDN potential on: December 03, 2016, 12:32:06 PM
In the midst of the anoncoin craze XDN (cryptonote representative) seems to have been a bit forgotten. I think that this coin has a lot of potential. Right now it is as anonymous as XMR and the dev seems to be really devoted to this project, recently doing a hard fork that enabled merged mining with other cryptonote coins.

4) Skepticism at such an early stage is more than expected! With the release of the website later today, we hope people will understand that we have been performing the developments that we say we are. When each retweeter receives $1 worth of Belacoin on Sunday, we hope people will less question our dedication to funding this project.

Wow, was expecting a bit more than one dollar. Not that anyone should complain about free anything, in my opinion giving $1 worth of coin does not show dedication. I was expecting like ten times more at least..

I guess it is part of the gimmick. Get people hyped up, out of anticipation. I mean it is a great coin, its the uncertainty is what's killing me. I sold half of my shares, but deep inside, I want to buy back some of the coins I sold.

It is nice to see that all these altcoin projects have different ways of dealing with things. This gives them all a personality. They are not just copies of each other. But I agree, if I got to decide, I also would like to know more about the state of the project rather than kept in the dark..

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Synereo - Earn Money Using Social Media on: August 29, 2016, 06:31:46 PM
How much of synereo's price rise is attributable to Steemit's travails at the moment vs actual substantive decentralised tech build-out at Synereo itself?

Synereos alpha has not been published yet, but the potential synereo is showing is great. Some of the current price rise may come from investors switching from steem to synereo, but I think it is mostly due to people showing interest towards the platform. After a usable version of the social network has been released, we will see how many former steemit users will start using synereo instead.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to distinguish a PromisingCoin from a ShitCoin or ScamCoin? on: August 25, 2016, 07:07:12 AM
Yeah you cannot tell if some random new coin is going to be successful or not. Even if they announce great new technology and plans the project could collapse at any point. You should watch projects and slowly start investing in something if you have built up a trust. If you believe in some project, even then invest only small amounts..

The markets are unpredictable and the current market should not be your first indicator of what to invest in. Markets react slowly to great projects and let go of failed ones even slower. And the price changes cannot be predicted, as could be seen with for example ETC. Because of the small liquidity in most altcoins, anything could be pumped/dumped super easily, so that makes almost any investment unsure.
