1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization on: November 13, 2014, 05:52:09 AM
Did you address payouts for smaller miners as the hasrate increases?
yes. antpool earns bitcoin through p2p mining using one bitcoin address. all workers connected to p2p.antpool.com will get the shares from antpool by PPLNS without fee.
2  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization on: November 13, 2014, 05:37:15 AM
Thank you Bitmain - that sheds a bit more light on the subject. So you're keeping it python based then?  (please say no)

Please tell your R&D crew to ignore p2pool.info - it is useless & will only create confusion for noobs. Better if it was gone  Tongue

yes, python.
we will show p2p network information at antpool.com, instead of p2pool.info.

If this is a totally separate p2pool like network but miners connect to Bitmain's servers only to mine on it, then they get the worst of all worlds: They get the increased work loss of frequent restarts, they get the high diff shares that will prevent them getting paid consistently unless they have very large hashrates, and there is no actual decentralisation since they'll be mining at a centralised pool created by bitmain that just happens to use the p2pool code for its backend but isn't really p2peer.

If all of the above is true, then bitmain has tried to cash in on the decentralisation concept by paying homage to the idea using p2pool without actually understanding it.

Fail.

As to p2p mining, Antpool collects all subscribed miners to its servers, and then contributes to the already exist p2p network (p2pool.info).
we are trying to reduce the loss of frequent restarts in p2p mode. we hope we can present better result soon.

Is this connected to the regular p2pool network or your own p2pool like network?

I have received 6xS1 Antminers yesterday.
2 Out of 6 of these Antminers was not working properly!
Their Fan was not working and when I opened their Fan I understood that they are for sure Second Hand, The Radiator behind Fan was full of dust and it certainly show that Bitmain is selling his worked S1 Antminers to market!
It is not a good way of business!!!

Hi sepehr, I am sorry for the mistake made by our stuff.
We are looking for the reason and checking our procedure now.
Please contact with our sales for support.
I am so sorry again.

Hi Bitmain,

It looks like there's a fault in your system.

I was in the process of ordering a S1 - order ID 00120140112131617262M1Cei8P30633
Invoice was generated on "Date: 2014-01-12 13:16:18"
I paid as requested, 2.65 BTC to address 13sh4KzGSUnF1YSsgfvcCTjGF2cBshcotH
Here is the transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/420517709b3b32fd1834b84b386ca8294c252b9849f6c9ce622b325b063067f7

As you can see payment happened 2 minutes after the invoice was generated.
It got 6 confirmations well before the 1 hour window to expire.
As I write this, there are 12 confirmations already, but your website says "expired" ?!

I also noticed that under "Pay" column it said "Pay: 0 BTC" instead of "2.65 BTC" ?
Here is a screenshot:

As you can see I paid on time, so please fix this situation.

hi sir, your payment is successful, please check again.
Thanks so much.

Just a question:
sushi - how much heat do these things produce?
Do they need active cooling like the current 333 MHZ erupters?
Do you recommend standard spacing on hub - or double?

Thanks.

When running at 1.6Hash/s, total power is around 2W, no need acitve cooling.
Product size: 60 x 25 x 8 mm, please select proper hub.

Hi sushi, as to USB miner, your pool difficulty is 128 and it is too high.
Please adjust the difficulty, and you can get more nonce and share.
In addition, you can check multiple USB miners with USB hub.

16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: December 17, 2013, 12:15:13 PM
Im fed up (as well as some of my group buy participants) on Bitmain not replying to my pm and failed to confirm the U1 delivery time. Im closing the group buy.

U1 will be sold in this weekend. BITMAIN account will release the detailed information.
Sorry for late release of U1, since a capacitor defect on the PCB.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: December 08, 2013, 03:49:48 PM
So we've got folks on board for running EU, AU, and US group buys to ease shipping on Bitmain - all we need is a U1.

Heeeeeeey Bitmain, any updates on the status of the hardware?  Figure out those problems yet? Smiley

We have produced a small batch of U1, and it can work now.
However the yield is not so good, and we are solving this problem.
Please wait several days again.
Thanks very much.

PPS: looking at my stats so far, it appears the newer unit has a much lower number of stales/24hrs but slightly more low difficulty shares. I havent been monitoring stats very long yet to see if its random or a trend yet, but has anyone else noticed something like this?

any idea whats causing the difference? I can repost the stats in a few hours once they are larger numbers, but the version1 unit still produces a higher number of HW and rejected

Yes, the newer unit has a much lower number of stales. But HW of these two version are same.
If you care about the stale number of the old version, please try to update the firmware.

BITMAIN,

What program do we need to run in our computers to use AntMiner U1?

Will current copies of cgminer and bfgminer work?

Will you be providing a working miner program to download?

Thank you.
We will provide a branch of cgminer for U1.
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: December 01, 2013, 04:30:23 AM
One of my units perform lower than expected.

Onboarded my last unit today, and it underperformes significantly.

It was doing ~140 GH/s . Chain 1 having some x , chain 2 many x after several hours of running. I forgot to take a screenshot then. Thinking this could be a PSU issue, i swapped PSU from a fully functional unit, and still see some x. not as low as earlier, but im sure after couple of hours it will get the many x in chain 2... Will update with fresh screenshot if i spot it again...

My ambient : 20 to 30C (may get higher during mid-day and if AC is off).

Any ideas? Anything I can do to see some debug logs? Is cgminer logs saved anywhere? Im very comfortable with linux, ssh and command line...

Is this unit broked?
turtle83 , for the first batch, the there is some bugs for ASIC status checking. If you doubt the ASIC status, please contact our sales/supoort to update your control board.
