Yeah just sent a PM to Bitstar_coin about the potential de-listing !

Would be shame to see that happen, but seeing no one is dumping it probably won't happen.

I surely won't dump my 15k....
3  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Securing your bitcoins : Nano ledger or Armory ? on: March 06, 2016, 05:48:19 PM
I'm wondering if I should transfer all my btc to the nano ledger or not.
This depends on the amount of coins that you are going to store. If we are talking about large amounts that I'd definitely not recommend it. I'm not familiar with Ledger Nano software (I have one, but have never used it). Is there an option to create a backup? What if the hardware itself fails? You have to consider these things.

Yes there are options to recover your wallets using the 24 words generated when initializing your wallet.
Seems pretty safe imo thus my question.

Thanks for taking the time to answer Lauda !

I am a borderline paranoid guy when it comes to financial matters, including BTC.  Why not store some BTC in both?  I am familiar with Ledger Nano, and I like it (I also like the Trezor).  The Ledger Nano also has a way to recover your BTC if the unit gets lost.

I do not know Armory, so cannot comment on that.

In general, having your BTC is a couple of different places just seems wise.

Yeah, my initial idea was to put 50% in each, but armory as great as it is needs more maintenance (blockchain sync, etc) than the ledger...
You are right though, never put all your eggs in the same basket !

Thanks for your input OROBTC !
4  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Securing your bitcoins : Nano ledger or Armory ? on: March 06, 2016, 02:43:54 PM
Hi guys,

I have both an offline eepc and the nano ledger.
I'm wondering if I should transfer all my btc to the nano ledger or not.
Armory is great but it needs to keep up with the blockchain on the online computer and i'm always afraid the offline, old eepc, will just not boot at one point.
I have printed the recovery paper wallet, but still armory in the end is just so much more complicated and time consuming than the nano ledger.

So right now, i'm wondering if I should just transfer all my btc to the nano ledger or not.

Any consensus regarding this ?

Take care !

Can I get some Free Lock too?
2Vv79HDotP65FYZqF1DTmuR8He3MrMjg3m

I have not managed to get any since my BTC is all tied up in other coins Sad

Don't want to miss the boat on this.

Really?
For begging you should send your picture, proving that you live in a carton box having 1 leg and being blind.

But maybe the mysterious dev is generous.....

If not, just sell some of the other coins. It's not that difficult

Smiley

SCAM

How can this be a scam as nothing was promised or even defined ?

This is the ninja of the ninja coin launch !

All I see is a constant huge network hashrate for no appearant reasons, this coin is one of it's kind.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be interesting to follow.

I'm not sure the hidden mining option is a smart move as I can only see negative reasons to use it...
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Limiting announcements for new coins to "non noobs" accounts ?! on: June 27, 2014, 10:31:50 PM
Hi,

we've seen so many scams on alts launches done with "noob" accounts that i'm wondering if the forum administration should not limit announcements to existing ("legit") accounts.

wouldn't that limit the problem ?

We really need to address this issue !

Outrageous is the only term that comes to my mind !

got all my hash out of this shit....

This forum should limit annouces for new coins to legit accounts, not noobs !

I know xhash was late on the coin (500 something) but is that the case for all the pools ?

xhash isn't late usually.... is there something fishy going on ?
This could well be another instamine scam :/

There were 325blocks of premine. read pages 25 to 30. It'll explain a lot

Thx !

Notes:
-post below is not intended to you or anyone in the quote
-post below is intended to all the guys that rent 1-2-5-10GH of power and wipe out every single coin that starts last weeks

Dear guys,

Your actions like described above are not in the help of the crypto community, you are damaging the whole idea, not us. In a fiction dream which you follow and a greed to make more money you wipe every single hope left in the community. Why ? Because last dozen of coins launched were raped out from the very start with rented power, no giving any chance to average 10-50Mh user here for at least a chance. And for sure i'm not telling this because i'm from the affected users or because i'm jealous of what you do. I'm telling you this from my own experience, and how i killed a small coin and it's future with a single small asic device. Mined it like crazy and dump all on the exchange until every **** single order is gone - and what I got 0.5 BTC and realized that I have done the stupidest thing ever because of a greed. I took that less and not followed that pattern since then. Only good things happen to me and my trades till then. So please, don't dump all the rented power on one place, at least spread it on different coins ! If everyone of you check the major pools you will see the sections with offline pools and such that will be decommissioned soon. You all had some trades and made money from them, but why we should kill them ? Because of the constant race to catch the first 100 blocks, dump them and continue to the next one ? Don't you want to have stable coins, mine stable coin and trade with profit stable coins ? Then we all should take our lessons from the past/history.

If at least +1 person that like the idea and follow it, then it's worth the writing.

Have a good night,

100% with you on this one !

Doubt we can change this trend though... my 4 280x rig seems a bit pointless right now.
The worst is that i'm not sure those people make profit doing this.
