VMC Sales:

3rd Quarter 2013           $1,404,217

October 2013                   $520,898

Total Sales YTD             $1,925,115

Dunno if this was covered, but do any of these sales figures include internal sales, or sales to any VMC related companies (I'm not sure what entities remain from the confusion of the original structure).

Basically I just want to know if any of these sales were to ourselves, from money raised in the IPO (or mining).  I'm not sure how we're going to represent the gear we build for mining as opposed to that for external customer sales.

Now that's a great question I'd like to see answered too.

Bin gerade echt glücklich über mein Investment hier. Ich hätte zwar insgesamt mehr Bitcoin gehabt, aber diese sicher nicht so lange gehalten sondern schon vor Wochen verkauft.  Smiley
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Me=Noob in a bubble -> no problem or am i missing something here? on: November 09, 2013, 04:54:46 PM
To get the maximum value you have to sell while the price is still going up. Selling during a flash crash is almost impossible be it because of lags or psychologically. There will be no plateau at the top the price trend will just go from straight up to straight down. No early warning signs in a real bubble.

I'm curious about how they seized the bitcoins. To seize bitcoins, you have to get the private keys to the addresses holding them and transfer them.

Would it be seizing if they took a paper wallet from him?

Finally some action. Bitcoin rollercoasters are back.

Calling a temporary 51 in about 24 hours.

Just sent 1614 shares to AMCTENDER1 as the instructions said, and then sent the email. still haven't seen the shares in my Bitfunder yet. Help ?

It's not an automatic process. Last time we tendered shares from AMC to AM it took several days since they all have to be processed manually by Ken.

Gentlemen. Let's play a game. 'Call the bottom'. Is it just a minor swing downward? Is it this the end of our beautiful July uptrend? Doesn't matter, just tell us what you think the bottom will be.

Guess I'll have to go first. I'm afraid we'll see a few more red candles, but we might have seen the bottom already at 130. The worst I can see is testing 125.

Who's next?

Is this the end?  Grin
14  Economy / Securities / Re: Community Mining - Avalon ASIC chip Miner--33.840MH/s----> All Shares are taken on: September 02, 2013, 08:54:51 PM
Hello everyone,

the last day were very troublesome here on the forums, avalon announced their refunds, bitfury delievered first devices, other sellers reduced Hardware prices a lot!

All of this reasons and the fear of not reaching ROI soon, made people to refund all their avalon chips.

Lately also I think it's probably the best thing to do.

Unfortunatly the decitition was taken out of our hands, I was on vacation the last days with no internet access and during that time more then the half of all chip buyers from group buys were we participate decided to refund the chips (bizwoo and sebastianju).

So this means that this project will be canceled and I will refund all remaining Funds back to you. We decided not to charge anything from the already purchased hardware like Fans, cables and a server from you.

But we have to pay groupbuy fees and escrow fees from groubbuys, which means that we can  only Refund about 95% of your investment in BTC to your payout adresses as soon as we have got the refunds.

I'am very sorry that we can not do a 100% refund and this venture was a loss for you guys Sad

I hope for your understanding.

EDIT: I will send this also everyone as PM now

BR
Foofighter

Thanks you're the best! I'm totally fine with the lower refunds. Considering the current bitcoin/dollar price it might even be profitable (at least if you're still using dollars.)

Hey guys,

I was on vacation and just came back, I will look into this matter and come back to you with our options.

BR

Thank you. In case you bought the chips from SebastianJu's Group Buy there seems to be a deadline for tomorrow although I have to admit I didn't understand the last pages of the thread completely. It seems to work by a first come first serve basis. So in case we decide on a refund we would have to act really fast. I hope we're not too late yet.

Hi, I just sent you a PM but I want to post it here as well. I would like you to request a refund from Avalon as soon as possible before they run out of money or deliver the chips. I fully understand that their might have been other expenses for hardware, etc..
17  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is it a good idea to buy a secondhand 7950 previously used for minning? on: September 01, 2013, 09:00:36 PM
Im building a gaming pc because Ive just got Rome 2. Do you think its a good idea to get a 7950 previously used for mining, or are they just gonna die on me?

It depends on how cheap the card is. I probably wouldn't risk it if the card was used for mining for longer than 6 months since there are plenty of other used cards for sale.
18  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMiner vs. ActiveMining; which do you prefer and why on: September 01, 2013, 03:15:32 PM
I invest in both these securities, and find them to be strategically structured in similar ways. ActiveMining I got into earlier in its history so therefore I have reaped greater profits, yet ASICMiner has paid very good dividends as long as I've been on board (even though divs have dropped, still very nice)
My problem is, in the bitcoin world, especially the world of btc securities... there is not a hell of a lot of information available, and most of my news comes from here. I have to read through the sock-puppetry and FUD to try and glean what useful news I can. I have found that the ASICMiner threads are super technical, arguments about math etc. which, even though it is the worst sort of nerd-core pissing contests, still inspires faith in that actual tech-heads and people who likely understand the dev side of things are gravitating to ASICMiner (a good thing). Meanwhile, the activemining threads are all arguments by passthrough holders voicing their invalid opinions about what to do about supposed avalon rebates, if they even materialize. also many, many more sock-puppets on the activeminer threads.(not good)

I wanted to start this thread to create a forum for arguments for or against ASICMiner or ActiveMining, pros, cons, etc. A comparative survey, if you will. The respective forums for these two securities have become a cesspool of fanboyism, fantasy, weak attempts at market manipulation and butthurt FUD. They are impossible to read.

Lets do it in here and give everyone else a break, ok?

I just took my profit from Labcoin because I don't have all that much confidence in their long term future and in the current BTC price.
If the MtGox price weren't inflated (for whatever the real reason is) I would probably put more money into AM and AM.

When the Avalon news hit I unfortunately panicked and sold ActiveMining under value because the Avalaon Chip safety net was gone. I've been with AMC from the start and I should already be used to their horrible PR. So far Ken always delivered good news after long stretches of radio silence, I'm pretty sure that he will this time too. I think that buying ActiveMining now carrys a relatively low risk. Even if the Chip were a total failure, it wouldn't come out until November. That's lots of time for the price to bounce back up several times because of prototype pictures, etc..

The same goes for AsicMiner, one word of Friedcat about the 2nd gen and everyone will hop back on board (although I honestly didn't do the math on their share price).

I think the timeline will be like this:

Labcoin starts hashing in about 10 - 20 days. (I'm pretty sure that they will deliver on the first batch)
Pictures of the work in progress from AM and AM will follow in early October. (Share price picks back up)
Hashing on the new generation of chips slowly starts early to mid November.

This stock has turned into a PMB

On the contrary. The Avalon chips would have led to a mining income at a fixed hashrate until our own chip is ready. We're farther from a perpetual mining bond than before.

The stock's value is now completely determined by the ability of Active Mining to produce a good next gen chip.
20  Economy / Securities / Re: Community Mining - Avalon ASIC chip Miner--33.840MH/s----> All Shares are taken on: August 29, 2013, 10:25:51 PM
I'm currently trying to catch up on all the threads but it looks like Avalon fucked up pretty badly with the chip production. Please let me know if you plan to do anything  Sad
