2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please give some light on XRP on: February 10, 2019, 08:38:47 AM

all the news you hear about such and such bank going in Ripple is about its technology not the token itself called XRP.

This ^. It’s not that Ripple is good or bad, but that it fills a niche. Banks would never get involved with a fully decentralized cryptocurrency, Ripple provides a tool for their business.

My issue is with XRP. I see no real correlation between the success of Ripple and the investment potential of XRP. Ripple deveoped XRP as a proof of concept to market their tech to banks, and released it into the wild to survive on its own merits. Holding and trading XRP is effectively hosting a free tech demo for Ripple. One in which Ripple has a vested interest in having succeed... for now. Once Ripple is established XRP is no longer useful as a promo.

Even so, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing and XRP may survive and thrive in and of itself, which would be a testament to Ripple and their tech. However, I think the distinction between XRP and Ripple is lost on most and when the reality is made clear, XRP may not be the best place to have your money.

So, you are basically saying I should just hand over everything for free to BCI to demonstrate my integrity? Do you think Devs are idiots? And you can just steal their hardwork for free?

I made relevant sentences bold in my post  Grin
If you are interested in buying, please email me an offer privately. (And, I can show evidence that I am a Dev and not a domain squatter. I can even include working online wallet code.). I can't email you privately because of my Newbie status  Grin I am also looking for Dev work (not related to Bitcoin Interest)

Lol, what's happened with Bitcoin Interest project?
Selling Github? It sounds very strange.
I have never seen something like this, at least in my own 2-year experience in crypto world.

If you registered those domains during your time with BCI as part of your job, they belong to BCI.  If you registered them yourself, outside your position at BCI, you’re a domain squatter.  Either way, you have demonstrated a lack of integrity.  Why, then, would anyone else here want to hire you?

That isn’t at all what I said and your reply is nothing more than a straw man.

Might be too late to be asking this, but are Electrum BCI wallets good for transfer to the new chain?

It will Smiley... You most likely need to delete the block headers and let it sync them again, but nothing else shouldnt be needed.

Please elaborate. I’m still not connected / synced.

The idea has just started its business development. Already I see activity! I liked the idea of your business. I will follow the development of the platform in the future!

They need to do something about all these spammers it's getting out of hand.

Dude I hear you. And I feel bad somewhat adding to the spam by talking about all the people spamming!

But it is seriously out of control, Google translate getting a workout on the ravencoin thread with rubbish like 'this business could be the turning point when it is realised' and 'from whitepaper its very interesting and worthy to invest idea'. Like wtf am I reading is this pro level trolling or am I losing my mind.

Someone needs to moderate/step in and stop signatures and bounties for new accounts and just go on a banning spree.

Even though I am the one who created this thread, I don't believe btt allows me to do much about the spam or signature campaigns etc.  Just wanted to let you guys know, I'd do something about it if I could.  It's mostly bots or scripts that are automated, not sure what the purpose is for though.

When you start a new topic, you can choose additional options. One of those options is self moderate. That should allow you to deal with them in future topics. However, I don’t know if you can change that option after the thread is created.

The purpose is to increase their post count so they have increased credibility when they shill their own scams and FUD others. There’s actually a market for their services and businesses built around it... sad as that may be.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: MinerGate Pool [PPS 1.5%] [PPLNS 1%] ZEC-ETH-ETC-BTC-LTC-BCN-XMR-QCN-FCN-XDN on: August 30, 2018, 09:35:30 AM
I am mining xmr and aeon on MG for few months now and in my experience MG is full of bugs (or they are scamming intentionally). For example, today my aeon miner shows normal hash rate but unconfirmed balance stays at same number for more than 8hr. I got to change from PPLNS to PPS to actually start mining. Aeon got huge amount of blocks at MG pool in that 8h but my balance never get credited for that time. It is not first issue, but for me is sure last. I am going out of that bugged (or scammers pool).

Unfortunately, we had tech issues considering the representation of actual info on the Dashboard. Now the problem is fixed.

We kindly ask everyone who need any kind assistance in the use of MinerGate pool or MinerGate software to direct the requests to support@minergate.com or to the official MinerGate thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2571713.20 Thank you!

So, it takes you near 6 months to address this kind of problem and respond.  Thanks, no thanks.

You should post what computer equipment you have available currently so people can direct you to what you can mine.

Whales are more smarter than day traders and short term holders. They bet against the popular sentiment of the market and when everyone was expecting rise based on news and updates price kept on declining. Now people have started to show disappointment this may be good signal based on the theory I talked at the start of the text.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NVIDIA Founders Edition - 8-Pin Power Issue? on: March 27, 2018, 04:58:41 PM
I should have been more specific.  When I said burned cables, it was actually the plug at the power supply getting hot enough to melt and darken the wires at the plug.  When the plug gets that hot, it seems to melt together with the socket and become brittle enough to break when you unplug it.  That’s what I figured happened to the socket on your card.

I was lucky.  I had one card behaving erratically and found the problem when I removed it and the cables.  Afterward, I checked my other machines for signs and found the darkened wires, so I’ve been replacing them.

For reference, my power supplies were all Seasonic 1000 watt platinums with the 14 pin to 2x 6+2 vga.  I recently bought a new Seasonic and they have changed the vga cable plugs.  I thought it was coincidence, but maybe not.

If you’re handy with a soldering iron, you can get replacement sockets.  IIRC, they’re molex 8 pin mini-fit jr.  Also, some overclockers solder leads directly to the card and ditch the sockets completely.  Others here might be able to help you more in respect to these options.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NVIDIA Founders Edition - 8-Pin Power Issue? on: March 25, 2018, 07:33:42 AM
Swap out the power cable to the card and check the 8 pins at the card and at the power supply. Should probably check the mobo atx plug and pins as well.  In the last few months, I’ve burned multiple vga power cables on machines that were fine previously.

Failing that, swap the card to a known good slot / power position and see if it works.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Considering developing a 6 GPU Riser/Backplane, thoughts? on: March 15, 2018, 10:52:38 AM
Sounds interesting. IMO, worth checking price feasibility. I just ordered a set of risers and was thinking something similar would be handy.

Bittrex has suspended new account requests (since December) except for corporations and "special invitees."  IMO, the fact it's 2.5 months later and still in effect says they're only interested in new accounts for corporations and large ocean mammals.

Hi all.  Long time lurker (BTC on Radeon 7950s long time. lol), first time poster.  I want to thank you all for the information in this thread.

Also, for those of you considering dual power supplies, I have used these to activate the second PS:

No affiliation, blah, blah... just thought you might find them handy.
