1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How Quantstamp could possibly be the best ICO of 2017? on: October 18, 2017, 01:27:54 AM
As we are coming closer to the end of the year 2017, it is safe to say that there is an “ICOs race war” going on. Point of fact, lots of those ICOs and their investors have become big winners, but more and more have failed badly. People lost their money investing in “bad” ICOs because the teams could not further develop their ideas, or deliver the promised products, or simply because the ideas were not that great from the beginning. In my opinion, the “race war” will get even hotter going forward, and ICO failure rate will be even higher.

Despite all that, there are still gems stone to be found, and Quantstamp is one of those. With the rise of blockchain technology, smart contracts will become more and more popular. Use cases for smart contract are not just limited to ICO token sales, but can be applied to many different businesses. In any cases, there is usually big money involved, and hence security for smart contracts becomes a pressing need. Quantstamp was born to address exactly that issue: lack of security for smart contracts.

Mission & Vision:
Quantstamp’s goal is to protect all parties involved in a smart contract by searching for vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the contract that could be potentially exploited.

Highlighted protocol specification:

Quantstamp offers security audit for all Ethereum’s smart contract through their proofs-of-audit. Highlighted features are:
A decentralized networks that utilizes validator nodes to achieve safe agreements in smart contracts and to verify transaction.
A security library for various programing languages.
An user-friendly, advanced design

Competitors
Quantstamp is not facing much competition due to a surprising lack of projects in the field.

Team
o Core members
Quantstamp team is one of the best teams I’ve seen so far in 2017, comprising of graduates from veterans from top companies like IBM, Google, Amazon, Samsung, etc. Most of them already have domain expertise in security and blockchain.
o Advisors
Together with a strong core team is an impressive roster of advisors. Most notable are Dr. Vijay Ganesh, Dr. Derek Rayside, and Dr. Sveinn Valfells.

Rating
o Flipping: Good
With a fair $30 million cap and a high demand for Quantstamp tokens from the crypto community, the ICO will be sold out quickly, leaving a large amount of unmet demand, and a high chance of surging up once on exchanges.

o Long-term hold: Good
Security for smart contracts is a big and very promising market. Given the lack of competition, Quantstamp will be a good long-term hold.
